The accused SS man in Detmold Auschwitz trial says the first time about his involvement in the atrocities in the concentration camp. The 94-year-old Reinhold Hanning asked the members to be excused.

"I did not speak about my life and my family secret that I was there," he will say at the end.

On April 20, 1935 the birthday of Hitler, Hanning stepped age of 13 into the Hitler Youth. His stepmother, a committed National Socialist, had urged him to go into the SS instead of the Wehrmacht. He was inducted into the elite corps of the Nazi state and served in the SS regiment "Der Führer" among others in the Netherlands, France and Russia. After being seriously wounded in Kiev, he was transferred in January 1942 to Auschwitz. He did not know then what that a place was for assured Hanning.

Quote:Quote:

The former "Unterscharführer" then reports of his work as "orderly corporal," as he has "woke up comrades with the whistle in the morning", how he looked out on a watchtower with telephone and headlights and he let take the soldiers to appeal.

And soon it became clear to him what it was in Auschwitz: "There people were shot, gassed and burned I could see corpses reciprocated or were taken away, yes, you got to I perceived burning smell... I knew that one burned bodies. "

And so the young SS man was probably also clear that everything that happened in the three Auschwitz camps, only one aim: the mass murder of people, whether through gasification or by slave labor. "It was an atmosphere that I can not describe today," said the accused. Discussions with the comrades were hardly possible, totally "other than at the front", where "everyone could rely on anybody".

Hanning has guarded prisoner detachments outside the camp. Under his command, there had been no attempt to escape. "We would have made use from the firearm immediately in this case."

How the prisoners looked, as he treated them, what thoughts he has made, why these people were in Auschwitz and were tortured obviously - all but does not reveal the former Unterscharführer.

He knew that there were mass killings by gas. "It was learned course that trains arrived in Auschwitz, which were packed with people. We already knew that the majority of people who arrived by trains, was killed." At that time, these trains were still at the main camp, the new ramp in part Auschwitz-Birkenau was built later.

Quote:Quote:

In June 1944, Hanning was moved to Oranienburg concentration camp and ends up with an SS unit, the first fighting against the Red Army. The British finally take him in captivity, from which he will be released soon. "I have never spoken with either my wife or my children or grandchildren about Auschwitz. No one in my family knew that I was at Auschwitz," said Hanning. "I could not talk about it. I was ashamed," reads lawyer Salmen. "I have all my life tried to displace this time. Auschwitz was a nightmare. I wish to have never been there."

The last sentences could originate from the survivors. Auschwitz was their nightmare that destroyed their families and loaded their lives. They were not there voluntarily, but were deported because of their religion or alleged race there. Therein lies the contradiction of the statement Hanning: Firstly, it opens and recognizes its moral guilt. On the other hand he is silent about details, deeds, atrocities that he must have seen. He claims for himself a kind of victim status, which is not due to him.

At the end of this process day Hanning speaks for the first time in this process. He has a high, hoarse voice, but he spoke firmly and clearly. "I deeply regret to have belonged to a criminal organization that was responsible for the death of so many innocent people and the destruction of countless families," said Hanning. "I apologize in due form, I'm explicitly sorry."

Quote:Quote:

Many are skeptical about the content any defense. "He only told what he wanted to tell. What cruel happened that he has concealed", the Auschwitz survivor Leon Black Tree says after the trial.

Omissions in the description also provides the Criminal Law Professor Cornelius Nestler. "That was quite thin, the killings he not want to have seen," says the joint plaintiff representatives. Instead, the defendant had told the story to the letter, which let stand him in a good light. Nestler: "That was not enough, the picture he drew of himself in Auschwitz is distorted."

Could Hanning tell more? For him, probably already this first step was enormous. What he actually experienced in Auschwitz and what he thinks about the past and present, is likely to remain in the dark. So to kill more than one million people as in almost all other 6500 SS men and women who helped in Auschwitz.

For those of you that have an interest in History. I'm mixed about those cases. How many high rank ones did not face a trial? I agree on the term of personal responsibility but it seems like the hunt down now all the little soldiers that had been part of the machine.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - Checkmat - 04-29-2016

There is probably more to be gained from having him speak about his experiences, than to jail him for what little remains of his life.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - RexImperator - 04-29-2016

I agree. Firsthand witnesses are disappearing fast. Judge should sentence him to a speaking tour.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - Just_Die - 04-29-2016

Speaking tour? Germany is in no need of further reminder of the past lefting nuts won't stop rubbing its face in, as well as the face of any western nationalist movement that attempts to assert itself. This is exactly the type of cultural-shaming SJWs love to bring up in order to promote further socialist cultural degradation. This is why Godwin's Law is such basic bitch fodder.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - The Beast1 - 04-29-2016

These types of trials piss me off. The man is 94 years old.

I look forward to the day when there aren't any more witnesses of the second world war. It's time we as a people move on.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - Lizard King - 04-29-2016

Does this not tell you that the holocaust is being/has been used to push an agenda?

Prosecuting a 94 year old man for crimes from over 50 years ago, crimes that possibly he was ordered to do(if they happened, we don't know and can't assume) achieves nothing whatsoever.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - Horus - 04-29-2016

He was a guard. He was a soldier. He didn't press the gas button. He merely performed his duty as a solider. Leave the old man alone.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - Requiem - 04-29-2016

I can't remember exactly, but I think some time ago someone told me to search for "holocaust survivors tell the truth" or something to that matter on YouTube and there was a video about 15 minutes long with several very interesting survivor testimonies. I wonder if this 94 year old monster of a guard would have noticed these occurrences but for some reason doesn't mention them. He's probably too ashamed of these atrocities! RexImperator is totally right, I think this demented and sedated mass-murderer should tell us more about this!!!!!!!

I'm on mobile but you should check if the video is still up.

Really.

THE "GAS BUTTON"

That Trump-meme with the button isn't meant to be authentic.
What did they teach you how the gassing was done?

It's always great how we're reminded that "not all Muslims are like that" and that there's this huge population of "moderates" who want nothing more than "peace", but whenever it comes to Nazis it's, "Should we give him one life sentence or two?".

Oh man, that's a bummer. I wonder who is behind this. Why is this banned? I wanted to learn more about these atrocities. Maybe they thought my fellow countrymen couldn't take the shame. I'm relieved they protect me from knowing the full scale of the horrors.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - General Stalin - 04-29-2016

Not actually a dupe but basically the exact same story - dude is even the same age: thread-49084.html

http://www.spiegel.de/panorama/justiz/au...43703.html

I'll echo my beliefs from that thread: putting old Nazi soldiers on trial who were not the ones in command issuing orders to commit war crimes is an awful crime in and of itself. Punishing men that were likely conscripted for doing their duty they were commanded to do by their government.

The government is punishing them for following orders issued to them by the same government. The hell.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - kaotic - 04-29-2016

They'll always find a scapegoat who they'll say did all the murdering.

What was he to do ? Run to the UN or NATO that was never even around during WW2 ?

The man probably feared for his own safety and would of gotten shot.

I don't condone what he did, but for fucks sake, just let it die already.

Not quite.

The purpose of his prosecution is to remind people how TERRIBLE nationalism is.

When people become nationalistic they turn in to Nazis.

Of course he's being made an example of. I suppose in a weird way it goes to show how a soldier's duty is never done. Even at the tail end of his life, after retirement from service, he has to give one last sacrifice to his country for the "betterment" of its citizens.

Correction:

When western people become nationalistic.

Ok dickhead. Perhaps there wasn't an actual button. However he simply performed his duty as a guard and wasn't responsible for what happened in the gas chambers.

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - John Michael Kane - 04-29-2016

Putting a man on trial for something that happened decades ago, where there is little evidence that he can disprove anything due to these whole Nazi trials being public theater. It is just another excuse for Germany to feel guilty, let in more migrants, etc. I'm no fan of the 3rd Reich, but you'd have to believe that this isn't some political ploy for those who like using these circumstances for their own power.

I recommend reading The Holocaust Industry, good book on how many Jewish organizations in both the U.S. and Europe use the Holocaust as an extortion technique for both supporting Israel, and also fleecing money. It is absolutely shameful. The Holocaust happened seven decades ago, it is time to move on.

^ Finkelstein is jewish, correct?

Auschwitz trial for 94 old SS soldier - John Michael Kane - 04-29-2016

Yes, he is. He's a leftist when it comes to his political stance, but that hasn't insulated him from being viciously attacked by several Jewish-American organizations for having him expose their Holocaust politicizing. There's BIG MONEY in trying to get reparations.

What I can say, it got worse the more are death. Because now nobody can stand up against the lies. In the 70s and 80s, even the 90s a lot of the people that lived in that time where still alive. Since the 2000s the whole SJW stuff went nuts. Now you have no more Adenauer that said, Waffen SS soldiers had be normal soldiers like the Wehrmacht. Even when they did write books they had be strong anti communist because of the iron curtain.
On the other hand, the whole Nazi, Holocaust issue is not so much in the media like it was when I did grow up. There was almost weekly something new for blame and shame. So on the one side, the whole multiculturalism when nuts since the 2000s but the Nazi blaming went down. Seems like a shift in the indoctrination. Now its all about Muslims and Islam.

This case is a litte different then the last one where the last guy had be clear just and accountant. In this case nobody knows what he did but they have no proof so far that the did kill someone. Its kind of ridiculous to go behind those small people when the whole system is run by someone else.

100 years from now they'll be posthumously convicting people just to keep it in the headlines.
