How could I leverage artistic abilities or interests? -

I have some pretty 'niche' artistic habits, calligraphy being one. I started it mostly because I like old manuscripts, and I was really surprised when I went to a workshop on a particular style last winter and found I was the only guy in a class of twenty. Some pretty presentable girls, too.
I also like to do open-mic comedy, and I write. I'm reasonable to good at all of them, and comedy is the obvious one as I already go to gigs; any ideas how could I employ my other interests to meet women? I like doing them anyhow, but why not?

Go to a local brewery or restaurant that has a bar and bust out the calligraphy pens and manuscripts (or whatever). It's not a common sight so you could easily leverage it into a conversation piece with a little game thrown in.

Opinion opener. Just set up shop at your nearest out of the way coffee place. Sit next to a girl you like that'll be there a while and ask her opinion on the artwork you're doing.
I've done this with music whenever I've finished up a song though it's a rare thing to open like this. You'd have to gauge from a girl's looks if she's into that. I'd personally not employ it to open girls, but mention it casually when running game.
Stuff like that is useful for bait. There's female groupies for every male endeavor except World of Warcraft and even that's changing these days(it's weird there's an influx of slightly attractive girls into online gaming as of late but I believe it's more attention whoring than anything).
