Guys,
I want to convert an ebook I wrote into an audiobook. It's just over 60 000 words long.
Anyone got tips on how to find a voice actor, and what would be a fair price to pay for this kind of service?
There are a few voice actors on Elance, but they charge an hourly rate and I'd rather pay a fixed rate - is this reasonable?

What type of book have you published?
Unless its a highly specific book related to your profession, I'm sure many of us would be interested in having a look.

For future reference, in case someone searches the forum for this same question:
Roosh advised me to auditions on:
voices.com
voice123.com
and to expect a fee from $1000 to $3000 dollars.
Personally, I'm also thinking of going to the drama department of my university and finding a student willing to do it for me for maybe a bit less. The audio book for all intents and purposes is a vanity project, so I don't see the point of spending $3000, (almost a whole months of my third world salary for me) for a vanity project.
Maledefined, a while ago I had an idea for narrative poem about heroism. It ended up becoming a monkey on my back and it turned into a novel-length verse novel. Utterly commercially
not viable but I'm proud of it all the same. I think an audio version might do better than print, as the verse will stand out.

Awesome. Let me know when it's available and I'll pick up a copy. Good luck!
