Lecce, Italy mini-Data Sheet - Frost - 05-02-2012

I spent four days in Lecce, and it is tits. If you're looking for a small, third-tier Italian city to get work done, put down roots, and learn Italian I highly recommend it. English is spoken by very few locals and it's off of most people's tourist trail, so there's a huge incentive to learn the language.

Every night, the entire town square and Imperator avenue turns into a giant open-air party. Girls are extremely friendly and approachable, and there's a lot of talent. Huge day game opportunities. Inexpensive compared to the larger Italian cities.

I had zero luck pushing interactions past a friendly vibe, but I think that could have been very different if I wasn't just passing through, and if I spoke more than just extremely basic Italian. Girls opened easier than baby food jars, but it was tough to develop a sexual vibe without a common language. The result was lots of new friends, lots of impromptu language lessons, but still a 000 batting average. =/

Check out Mamma Lupa's for good food and 6 Euro litres of good wine. Cafe Antifeatro has a damn good salad menu. Nightlife venues are generally just places to pop in and out of to grab a drink and rejoin the crowds on the street.
