What about property rights vronski? Ive heard many horror stories even by ukrainians and a close acquaintance of mine got screwed also.
You buy an apartment then local mafia just claim it as theirs.

Overblown or some merit to it?

Well, can just answer fom what I know. I have many Ukrainian friends who are owners of their apartments (including GF whose parents -from Zapo - incidentally just bought her a nice apart in Kiev two weeks ago, good for me lol), and I have also two or three friends who bough apartments in Odessa and Kiev. There is - again from what I know- no problems with property rights in Ukraine ...... unlike in Russia, where local mafias and crooked judges make the rules. Ukraine is IMO a safe country to own an apartment. You just need a good notary. Ukraine is very much a "owner market" anyway.

Edit: I've never heard eery stories about property rights in Ukraine, but I've often heard or read about people being depossessed of their apartment, business, ect in Russia and now in the thug-ruled "republics" of East Ukr, as in Crimea for that matter.

The Ukraine Thread III - weener - 08-15-2016

I have never head of any foreigners getting their apartment seized, but it does happen in Ukraine.

folks , i made up my mind to head to Ukraine in early September and ill have like 2 weeks to spend there (before heading to Beirut)
so with decent Russian language skills which cities should i include ( I was Thinking Kiev , Odessa for the beach and either lviv or kharkov)
apart of the Kiev and Odessa which is usually loaded with tourists what other 2d tier cities where girls hasn't bitch shields as main cities ?

The Ukraine Thread III - Blake2 - 08-16-2016

Yes, lots of foreigners buy property in Ukraine. I know a guy in the business and he get lots of people who buy land or apartments in Kiev and other big cities.

The biggest problem I would say is not doing research beforehand. Lots of brand new developments going up with some of them meeting Western standards....others falling short. Like all things in life, caveat emptor- buyer beware.

Not really common. Opening a busines ids another story thoguh. The run a business in UA one needs to grease the wheels and have a local business partner.

I actually bought my flat form a "gangster". He was bragging how he ran cigarettes back and forth between UA and moldova. my front door is grenade proof, supposedly. He also had a special hook up where I can flick a switch and electricity to one outlet will come from the bank across the street.

But then, as I noticed when I was looking at the prices of apartment (when in Odessa), it means that for a new buyer, prices in Odessa are very interesting, at the moment. Safe, beautiful, big historic city with beaches and hot women, having good available apartments for less than 50.000 usd...

Maybe .It sure attracting the Turks but the problem is atm you could invest the money in the west and use the investment income to pay rent. Rent is pretty cheap in Odessa atm . The same 50k apt will cost you 200-300 to rent. But the rental will be furnished etc. Realize if you are renting fflat out you are expected to pay all utility charges except possibly sticking your tenant with phone and electricity.

So lets say you collect 250. After taxes and charges you make about 150 a month. There are credit unions in USA that paying better on CDS lol

Another thing to worry about is your neighbors. They will cause all types of issues if they find out you are a foreigner. For example they will blame you for water leakage and go tell Zhek(GOV'T SUPER/ETC) the leak damaged their property and get estimates that are inflated, and then expect you to pay them.

Btw..I giggled when you said safe. Compared to Bagdad? Almost every long term expat has been attacked in Odessa, often multiple times. This is before the Arab and Chinese started doing crimes. There is a reason the expats used to refer to it as the Tijuana of UA.
Hell, the leader of the old Odessa Hash Harriers( deceased now) was almost beaten to death in the center in broad daylight when walking with the Blue Hash Harrier T shirts. He got his teeth knocked out just so they could steal his bag of shirts.

The Ukraine Thread III - weener - 08-16-2016

I would say Odessa is generally safe if you stick to normal rules; take Taxis home at night, don't go to dodgy neighbourhoods trying to score weed, hookers etc.

If I think of the people I know in Ukraine and their reasons for getting beaten, they all revolve around, booze, drugs, and prostitutes. Ukrainian people generally are quite hard to provoke, although the further east you go then the more chance you have for a scuffle I have found.

It also depends on your age and size, petty thugs and criminal like to target the weak, older guys, small guys, especially when drunk.

The biggest thing to watch out for imo, especially with older guys, is being drugged by the local sluts and that is very commonplace, especially during summer.

Sometimes, Ukraine is so safe it's boring, I almost want to get in a scuffle for some sport

I was in Kharkiv ten days ago. I sat on benches at the Peremohy Garden Square all day. Lots of girls checked me out when they walked past. Some girls even sat next to me in the bench I was in, even though there were free benches around. I opened them but they didn't speak english. I think they thought I was a local because they weren't happy when I started talking in english.

Anyway I think the city is good. Lviv is even better because guys are really busted there...basically all girls checked me out!!

I met a girl from Kharkiv in Lviv.
Daygamed her next to Ratusha and then we went to drink coffee in one of the rooftop bars. Sexy beast. She is 30 but with them huge titties and perfect long legs and flat belly. She owns a beauty clinic and does not save any money on botox [Image: biggrin.gif]
Surprisingly she shared all the red pill ideas. She understood that a man need to fuck sometimes just to fuck, she is married and allows her husband to fuck around as long as he is not spending any money on these girls [Image: biggrin.gif]
In few hours after I met her I was leaving to Carpathians with another girl to attend Ukrainian wedding, so I had to let her go.
Anyways we are still in touch via Whatsapp, she constantly invites me to Kharkiv. Says I would kill it there. Few weeks ago she sent me a pick from some nightclub where there were 15 girls and no guys at one table, with a comment of something like Kharkiv needs you...
That reminds me that I have to go there as soon as possible.

The Ukraine Thread III - Schlep - 08-17-2016

^ Always nice to have female friends like that. Mid September can't come soon enough.

The Ukraine Thread III - Secret - 08-17-2016

seems to be not so uncommon in Ukraine. I know a local pickup instructor in Odessa, he is married. Mean he s not only teaching but also doing his thing.

The Ukraine Thread III - UkraineHunter - 08-17-2016

Wednesday night: I met with other two guys and we went to the Caraibbean Club since it was lady night. I was the youngest guy there and the club was full of pro (or what appeared to be pro) so didn't really like the place because I couldn't discern the pros from the normal girls. Anyway after some time I got approached by a girl...initially I thought she was a pro so I didn't really invest in the conversation, she was really friendly though....she couldn't leave me alone.
Met her later in the bathroom and she wanted to take me inside the bathroom with her but I still refused because I thought she was an escort and she was a bit tipsy. [Image: smile.gif]

Then, I remained alone at the club waiting for the rain to stop...met her again and this time she wanted to offer me drinks....I actually got one drink and she paid so after all I think she wasn't an escort...took her number (from the beginning) and that's it. [Image: cry.gif]

That's Ukraine...I like student clubs/bars in Kiev so at least you're quite sure the girls are normal and non pro...

Kharkov is a decent city, spoken English is low so the fact that you are proficient gives you a decent advantage and lowers their otherwise sizeable "foreigner" shield.

Yes nice when the girls have batchelorette parties, because you know the girls are ready to let loose.

Lots and Lots and Lots of Turks there unfortunately

The Ukraine Thread III - Barron - 08-19-2016

The White Knight of Ukraine has struck.

In a seemingly unfathomable display of ignorance and seething jealousy at the number closing happening around him, the final straw finally came in the form of, "Are you guys fucking American sex tourists?"

The level of contempt he had for himself as he sat their alone, helplessly watching women who's beauty he has pedastalized his entire life, was matched only by the lack of wit present in his remarks toward the men who were doing what he has never had the courage to do: Approach.

"Fuck off back to America you filthy Yanks!" he uttered again and again.

But all was not lost. As we sat their making a mockery of his anger an amazing event transpired which seemed to settle his supplicating sensibilities.

Two Ukrainian beauties walked past our table, stopped, smiled and waved at us. The waves were directed at Rico who got up and strolled over to them, proceeeding to take them both on an instadate.

"Such an awful sex tourist" I said. "How dare they wave at him and want to go out with him!"

To this there was no response. Could the spell of denial have been broken at the sight Rico's game? Or did he become even more steadfast in his male feminist stupor?

Lead by example fellas, and always remember:
"Most people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured and so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it."
