Well, to be honest, Trump wasn't my guy...

Why are these pitchers and catchers offended over being compared to a woman, are they misogynist or something?

When Farrakhan organized the Million Man March in 90s, he was criticized by feminists because it excluded women. I am sure most people would question a lot of what Farrakhan has to say but its clear that he is in favor of men taking responsibility for themselves for improvement. That mindset goes well with Trump.

What do you guys think about this....how far away are we from a full-on nuclear war (Which IMO can only be avoided if Trump get elected president). The Russian relationship with Lithuania and Poland is getting quiet ugly after recent NATO exploits there.

Quote:Quote:

Actions speak louder than mere words, and U.S. President Barack Obama has now acted, not only spoken. His action is to refuse to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russia’s biggest worry about recent changes in America’s nuclear strategy — particularly a stunning change that is terrifying Putin.

On Sunday June 5th, Reuters headlined “Russia Says U.S. Refuses Talks on Missile Defence System”, and reported that, “The United States has refused Russian offers to discuss Washington’s missile defence programme, Russian Deputy Defence Minister Anatoly Antonov was quoted as saying on Sunday, calling the initiative ‘very dangerous’.”

Russia’s concern is that, if the “Ballistic Missile Defense” or “Anti Ballistic Missile” system, that the United States is now just starting to install on and near Russia’s borders, works, then the United States will be able to launch a surprise nuclear attack against Russia, and this system, which has been in development for decades and is technically called the “Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System”, will annihilate the missiles that Russia launches in retaliation, which will then leave the Russian population with no retaliation at all, except for the nuclear contamination of the entire northern hemisphere, and global nuclear winter, the blowback from America’s onslaught against Russia, which blowback some strategists in the West say would be manageable probems for the U.S. and might be worth the cost of eliminating Russia.

That theory, of a winnable nuclear war (which in the U.S. seems to be replacing the prior theory, called “M.A.D.” for Mutually Assured Destruction) was first prominently put forth in 2006 in the prestigious U.S. journal Foreign Affairs, headlining “The Rise of Nuclear Primacy” and which advocated for a much bolder U.S. strategic policy against Russia, based upon what it argued was America’s technological superiority against Russia’s weaponry and a possibly limited time-window in which to take advantage of it before Russia catches up and the opportunity to do so is gone.

Paul Craig Roberts was the first reporter in the West to write in a supportive way about Russia’s concerns that Barack Obama might be a follower of that theory. One of Roberts’s early articles on this was issued on 17 June 2014 and headlined “Washington Is Beating The War Drums”, where he observed that “US war doctrine has been changed. US nuclear weapons are no longer restricted to a retaliatory force, but have been elevated to the role of preemptive nuclear attack.”

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has tried many times to raise this issue with President Obama, the most recent such instance being via a public statement of his concern, made on May 27th. Apparently, the public statement by Antonov on June 5th is following up on that latest Putin effort, by Antonov’s announcement there that Obama now explicitly refuses to discuss Putin’s concerns about the matter.

The fact that these efforts on the part of the Russian government are via public media instead of via private conversations (such as had been the means used during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962, when the shoe was on the other foot and the U.S. President was concerned about the Soviet President’s installation of nuclear missiles 90 miles from the U.S. border) suggests that Mr. Obama, unlike U.S. President John Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1962, refuses to communicate with Russia, now that the U.S. is potentially in the position of the aggressor.

Russia is making its preparations, just in case it will (because of the Aegis Ashore system) need to be the first to attack. However, some knowledgeable people on the subject say that Russia will never strike first. Perhaps U.S. President Obama is proceeding on the basis of a similar assumption, and this is the reason why he is refusing to discuss the matter with his Russian counterpart.

However, if Mr. Obama wishes to avoid a nuclear confrontation, then refusing even to discuss the opponent’s concerns would not be the way to go about doing that. Obama is therefore sending signals to the contrary — that he is preparing a nuclear attack against Russia — simply by his refusal to discuss the matter. In this case, his action of refusal is, itself, an answer to Putin’s question, like slamming the door in Putin’s face would be. It’s a behavioral answer, instead of a merely verbal one.

This is so incredible that I thought that it must have been an InfoWars hoax at first, but no, the article is well sourced and describes a real thing:

STATE POLICE SWIPING MOTORISTS’ DEBIT, PREPAID CARDS TO SEIZE MONEY

Police in Oklahoma are now able to seize money from motorists even if they don’t have physical cash on them – and even if those people are merely suspected of a crime.

Using a new device called an ERAD, or Electronic Recovery and Access to Data machine, Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers can now swipe debit or prepaid cards if they suspect a driver of obtaining money contained in their bank accounts illegally.

If drivers can prove, to an officer’s satisfaction, that the cash is legally theirs, they can keep their money.

If you can prove that you have a legitimate reason to have that money it will be given back to you. And we’ve done that in the past,” Lt. Vincent said.

All of this without an arrest, charge or warrant – an unconstitutional procedure that strips citizens of due process and civil rights, says Oklahoma Senator Kyle Loveless.

That's an amazing level of fuckery that goes beyond what even countries like China can do.

The state can clean out your bank accounts now on a traffic stop?

This shit is happening in Oklahoma though. Don't expect any serious blowback from the residents of that state for awhile.

Oklahoma sucks hard. It has all the cuckold attributes of the midwest and is pretend south with none of the good qualities.

Seems about right. Modern arab militias or armies aren't known for being good fighters for the most part. A few groups do alright from lots of trial and error (Hezbollah mainly) but most are just known for ratfucking unarmed civilians really.

When confronted with forces with actual weapons and organized tactics they tend to fall apart fast.

I have to admit I would love to see the Saudi military in action though in a real conflict.

Just the very idea of seeing all their expensive first world military toys exploding in the air from sheer incompetence and shooting themselves in the foot gives me a war boner.

Arab muslim vs Arab muslim conflicts are the best though because you see full scale incompetence and cowardliness on display.

Let me pose a question, not sure where else to put it sense its hits on a few issues highlighted in the past week.

Given the recent denial of "radical islamic terrorism" by the POTUS and everyone piling on, there is nothing to fear right?

Also, given the clear lack of support of free speech lately, a thought has been running through my head.

You're on a train, bus, etc, and at your exit, your the last to step off. Normal work clothes and appearance. Now say you decided to linger in the door way and scream "Allllllllllah Akbar" at the top of your lungs with your arms outstretched and phone clenched in your hand.

You've made a scene. Surely you will be arrested. This is akin to the "fire" in a movie theater.

But, but.. if radical islamic terrorism isn't a threat and you just said a word, they can't press charges, right? The president said its not a big deal and is basically condoning your freedom of expression, correct?

Now, if they do press charges, well, I guess it is a threat, right?

In no way do I plan to do this but I'm curious to hear your take.

^Depends entirely on whether you're a protected minority.

If you're a white hetero male then you'd have plenty of time in prison to mull over concepts like selective prosecution coupled with laws that have vast grey areas, and nobody would award you with a chap-stick and some mouth-wash for making a principled stand.

Professor rejects Marxism after traveling the globe: ‘Socialism doesn’t work’

Quote:Quote:

Kate Hardiman
University of Notre Dame

At least one professor in America does not feel the Bern.

University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Professor Jack Stauder says his political and ideological conversion away from socialism and Marxism occurred when he actually witnessed these systems in action.

After traveling to more than 110 countries to pursue various forms of research, notably cultural anthropology, Stauder described his conversion from Marxism as a process of disillusionment.

“I gradually became disenchanted with Marxism by visiting many of the countries that had tried to shape their societies to conform to its doctrines. I was disillusioned by the realities I saw in … socialist countries – the USSR, Eastern Europe, China, Cuba, etc,” Stauder told The College Fix via email.

“I came to recognize that socialism doesn’t work, and that its ‘revolutionary’ imposition inevitably leads to cruelty, injustice and the loss of freedom,” the professor continued.

“I could see the same pattern in the many failed left-wing revolutions of Latin America and elsewhere. By combining actual travel with the historical study of socialism and revolution, I succeeded in disabusing myself of the utopian notions that fatally attract people to leftist ideas.”

Re-embracing his Western farming and ranching homes of Colorado and New Mexico also helped solidify Stauder’s rejection of leftist ideals, he said.

“Returning to my roots also helped my transition away from the leftist ideology that exists in the intellectual atmosphere of university life,” Stauder noted. “By spending my summers in the Southwest in the company of rural working people, farmers and ranchers, I developed perspectives on the real world very different from those that prevail in the academic world.”

Academic institutions are breeding grounds for leftist ideals, according to Stauder, as “academics in general are intellectuals, and hence susceptible to ideologies.”

“People seem to feel the need to believe in something, and when intellectuals abandon traditional religion, as most have done, they tend to seek substitutes,” BookCoverhe said.

Political campus movements against the Vietnam war in the 1960s and 1970s inspired Stauder’s initial interest in leftist political ideals. For many years, he identified as a Marxist and a radical.

These protests were common and influential on the campuses where he studied and worked, notably that of Harvard College. There, Stauder began his undergraduate career studying American history and literature and eventually switched to cultural anthropology after working with a Maya community in Chiapas, Mexico. This experience inspired him to pursue a Ph.D. in anthropology at Cambridge University in England.

Stauder’s most recent research bridges anthropology and ecology and he recently published The Blue and the Green: A Cultural Ecological History of an Arizona Ranching Community.

When asked about the current bias in academia, Stauder pointed to the overwhelming amount of research confirming a leftist bias.

“Academia has developed its own culture, a subset of the wider elite culture of the ‘new upper class’ (see Charles Murray, Coming Apart). As in all cultures, pressures exist to conform one’s thoughts and actions, and those who do not conform tend to be marginalized or suppressed,” Stauder said.

Though it may be challenging, Stauder encourages professors simply to “be individuals. Seek the truth, and stand by it.”

US Diplomats Calling for Targeted Strikes on Syrian Regime Forces

Quote:Quote:

Dozens of US State Department officials have signed an internal memo protesting against US policy in Syria and calling for targeted military strikes against President Bashar al-Assad's government.

They argue the current approach is working against the Syrian opposition and helping Mr Assad to stay in power. It was signed by 51 mid-to-high level officials who advise on Syria issues.

It is not unusual for internal "dissent cables" to be filed through State Department channels. However, it is rare to have this number of diplomats voice opposition to a White House position.

State Department spokesman acknowledged receipt of the memo but declined to comment on its contents. However, an official familiar with the letter told the BBC that it was sent "because the status quo is not sustainable".

The document urges a credible threat of military action against the Assad government. Otherwise, it says, Damascus will feel no pressure to negotiate with the rebels.

This reflects concerns that the collapse of a joint US-Russian peace process is benefitting the regime. There have been violations of the ceasefire by both the opposition and the government. But President Assad has openly defied the truce, and his forces, backed militarily by Iran and Russia, seem intent on regaining strategic territory such as the crucial city of Aleppo.

Moscow argues that it is supporting strikes against jihadist insurgents not covered by the ceasefire. But Secretary of State John Kerry, who has pushed opposition groups to lay down their arms, is growing increasingly frustrated as the Syrian regime continues to change facts on the ground while he calls for diplomacy.

"The United States is not going to sit there and be used as an instrument that permits a so-called ceasefire to be in place while one principal party is trying to take advantage of it to the detriment of the entire process," he said recently.

Mr Kerry has pressed the administration for tougher action against the regime in order to force it to the negotiating table, and signatories to the dissent letter believe he'll be sympathetic to their concerns, according to sources involved in the process.

Neo-con warhawks pushing for the complete destruction of Syria?

Yeah, great idea to bomb ISIS' biggest threat on the ground. The Assad may be dictators, but their alternatives are demonic.

I am listening to an LA based radio station and a reporter at the station (KFI) is telling a story about how he was harassed by the Sheriffs Department. He was reporting on Lee Baca's attempt to raise sales taxes in LA County and was being fed insider info. Baca wanted to find out who was the mole and placed tracking devices on the reporter's car and had deputies go talk to the reporter's neighbors, telling them that he was under investigation for being a pedo.
