What’s advanced beginner/intermediate Spanish?

The Colombia Master Thread - IamLegend - 03-19-2019

Disregard my post entirely.

Thanks everyone...

I believe I'm an advanced beginner but I'm a tough critic... Mexicanas Ive talked to always think I'm Bs'n when I say I'm a beginner.... But honestly, I can't watch a movie in Spanish so I think I'm a beginner

I'll be in Bogota soon. Very soon. Chances are if you are there now, I will probably run into you. I'd like to PM people who are there now.

I have a general question. I'm looking for AirBnBs near Zona T that don't have a no guest policy. I'm not finding many. Do you guys know of any hotels in the area who won't Cblock if your trying to bring someone up? Also, what are some things to do outside chase tail. My Spanish is advanced beginner/intermediate. I thought it would be nice for outdoor adventure types of stuff or pub crawls, etc. Maybe even strip clubs and casinos

It's unlikely that any AirBnB will enforce a no guest policy. Even in Medellin when I stayed in Parque Lleras, had a no guest policy, and there was an old lady on guard 24/7, she didn't say shit when I brought people up. Whenever I've brought over a guest to a hotel, the girl just had to show her ID and sign in. Worst case scenario they charge you extra for a guest.

Latina women have huge tendency to exaggerrate. They say "hablas muy bien el español" if you are able to form a complete sentence. In their culture a good will is more important than truth.

I'd say it depends. Haven't been to Colombia but when I stayed in Mexico City last month some pads had a no guest policy AND near the entrance of the home. Not sure if they used these to enforce the rules.

Locked and Loaded.

Changed my RooshV Country Flag too.

Maple Syrup for Closers.

The Colombia Master Thread - Cattle Rustler - 03-19-2019

I forgot to include "cameras near the entrance"

Also, NoMoTO....did you include some tree bark or beaver hide?

The Colombia Master Thread - Sidney Crosby - 03-20-2019

NoMoreTO, I bought smaller bottles.... half or a 1/3 that size does the trick.

The Colombia Master Thread - wellrockthecity - 03-20-2019

I've actually got 2 good local friends in Pereira I want to give the bottles to so whole family can enjoy.

The third I will keep at the apartment for obvious purposes. Maybe I will go out to the university for cultural exchange with shooter cups and dole out to the young ladies. haha

Last time I had the smaller, cheaper bottles and it worked well.

Has anyone here ever gotten a criminal background check with the policia nacional in Colombia? It seems like a straight forward process that can be done online if you are Colombian and have a cedula number, or a foreigner with a cedula but I'm neither, I just have my passport. I need this to apply for a job in Canada, apparently I spent so much time in Colombia over the past few years that I have to prove I'm not a criminal there.

I have but I am on a work visa and have a residency cedula. It's a bit of a process and takes a day to get processed. I will PM you the form with step by step instructions...I imagine they will do a screening with just a passport.

^I paid my bribes bro, plus a really shitty immigration fine after overstaying
my visa by a day.

The Colombia Master Thread - Sidney Crosby - 03-20-2019

Have they hassled you about your overstay? If you've been back since.

Scotian, check this link https://antecedentes.policia.gov.co:7005/WebJudicial/ you can use the passport number too. It's called Antecedentes Judiciales de la policia nacional.

I tried before. It’s a pain, simply because the departments are slow and stupid. I actually had to ask three different offices before one figured out where I needed to go. This was in Medellin. And then of course that medellin office had to coordinate with the main office in Bogota. That took a week for a stupid document. The document was called “antecedente judicial.”

How long did you overstay & how much did youpay? Did you get any suspension time? I am thinking whether it makes sense to deal with visas for overstaying just 3-6 months.

A day or two and it was a huge pain in the dick hole, I had to spend an entire week in Cartagena that I didn't want to in order to go into the Migracion Colombia place something stupid like four times for interviews, finger prints, etc. I think the entire thing cost me about 700.000 plus taxis. I don't know if it's because the costenos are such dog fuckers (actually they prefer donkeys there) and lazy but it shouldn't have taken so long.

The Colombia Master Thread - Sidney Crosby - 03-22-2019

Con calmaaa boys, Daddy Yankee sure is good at making hits these last few years.

Good to see a Canadian (Snow) getting paid, probably hasn't done fuck all for 20 years except get fat.

Anybody else knows at what kind of fines I would be looking for 3, 6 or 12 months overstay?

Google it, if you don't speak Spanish well and know how to negotiate with Colombians, you'll probably get fucked and end up paying quite a bit, good luck.
