Inks was a highly touted ICO and it didn't do shit. Insights seems to be going the same way.
I'm beginning to think the days of doing an ICO for a quick flip are over.

Agreed, Dether, INSTAR, and another one I put in 15 eth total. Worth like 5k now. Thats a huge loss on ICO's

NOTHING is doing well right now, except BTC, so of course ICOs won't do well.

Found this cool looking ICO:
https://icerockmining.io/
TLDR is they're building a mining center in an abandoned Soviet bunker where it's ass cold so no need for rent or cooling systems, plus it's in Kazakhstan so the energy is the cheapest in the world (3 cents a kwh).
BUT. Once the ICO is over there is nothing stopping them from just taking all the money and telling everyone to fuck off. So I'm not investing.
I really like the concept however. Anybody know of any legitimate operations like this that are actually paying real dividends today?
The Official Crypto ICO thread -
Malone - 03-05-2018
There's a few things wrong with that as well.
First, it was flagged as some kind of scam iirc.
Second, it's an underground bunker, not a magical cave. The temp in the bunker is 15C ambient. Once there's a ton of miners down there, the temperature will go up. In fact, without a lot of ventilation it will go up a lot. So a cooling system will be needed. Not AC, but air replacement fans like every other crypto mining operation.
Also - abandoned bunker? I doubt they'd be stupid enough to be squatting on government property. They probably bought it.
Cheap electric is good, as long as it's actually reliable.
Looks like it'd be a good business, but invest? Crazy talk.

Credits just did 5x within first few days of release... might wanna get your hands on it as their MVP supposedly does 1 mill transactions per second.l (they were successfully audited by Columbia university).. if it keeps gaining traction it could end up around EOS/ETH etc

The
Coinvest ICO is currently on-going and you can still jump on it.
The recent market crash has not helped in selling the Tokens, however this is a very solid project as you can read here:
Coinvest : the most exciting ICO for upcoming Jan 2018
4.3 Rating on ICOBench
The Hard Cap is set at 30 Millions. Tokens should hit major exchanges in April.
From my perspective, as soon as we get into a bullet market again, which will happen sooner or later, this is a 10x Token.

Looks like WAN hit Binance last night. I figured they would wait until signs of another crypto bull run before letting hit the exchange. It's done around 5-6x ICO already with buy price at 30 cents and it's now around $4.50. Not bad at all in this crypto market.
The hype surrounding this was that it was the next coin to do 100x, the other being ICX.
I looked at both VEN and ICX.
ICX took about 22 days after hitting Binance before reaching its ATH and VEN took about 76 days after hitting the exchange before reaching its ATH.
ICX never dipped below its first day opening price before reaching its ATH.
VEN dipped about 42% from its first day open. It then went on a bull run for 76 days and gained about 2400%.
Since I only put a couple grand into this thing, I'm going to hold it and see where it goes.

Ended up dumping it for a small profit (Like 4-5%, which isn't terrible considering I held it for 5 hours).
Not that I don't believe in the project, I'm just not convinced that BTC won't dump on me this weekend and take WAN with it.
Maybe I'll be looking back on this in a year and laughing at myself when it's got a 100 billion dollar marketcap...

The BTC pricing is always what makes this stuff a pain in the ass. I'm keeping my eye on the death cross which looks very possible (with 50 SMA and 200 SMA).
The only death cross after a sustained rally was early April 2014. This was relatively sustained for about 566 days until the 200 day SMA crossed below the 50 day SMA again.
We are awfully close to another death cross for BTC.
I'll probably end up selling about half my WAN chunk from the ICO and just letting the rest ride.

Shockingly, Vice Industry Token seems to have opened at a 1.5x, or maybe even higher than that.
I didn't do it because a thought "No way a stupid token like this succeeds when the whole market's about to die."
Did anybody get into that one?

They made a partnership with PlayboyTV in between ICO and token release which probably boosted it. I was thinking the same thing, I am still skeptical of their ability to deliver on the technical side long term.

I chucked 0.5 ETH into that one and now have around 10k VIT tokens. It's really just gambling with that kind of ICO but we are talking very small amounts.
I've also managed to get in to the NEX token sale through the lottery which is a nice bonus. But generally I'm avoiding most ICO's and am now consolidating into a smaller number of alts I believe have long-term potential. If I did want to invest in new tokens in the future then I'll probably look to buy the dip after they hit the exchanges rather than go through all the KYC hassle when the real gains are probably now in private pre-sales for most projects.

I have put a couple of ETH into IRM, purely on the basis it's so crazy an idea that it might just work. Fully aware they could disappear off into the sunset and not make good on the profit-share (which is supposedly written into smart contracts) but I trust them more than a lot of other ICO's as they've been plastering their faces and identities all over their social media platforms.
They have also been very responsive to questions, and I believe they have confirmed that A) the hot air will be pumped out of the cave using a fairly cost-effective, basic air pumping system and B) the cave / land is privately owned by them entirely, having been purchased from the Government many moons ago after it ceased to be used as a military bunker.

Good question, I imagine it can't hit exchanges before the ico is finished.
It looks like they have a bonus structure in place to incentivize earlier investing. 28% bonus for pre ico sale is definitely significant. Question is, does one stand to get +28% average returns on other investments between now and then? It is #altseason after all.

I am an ex-stockbroker and am launching an ICO for a new company I have created. I am looking at it as a way to IPO with less red tape. I have it set to launch with tokenwizard... Anyone have any advice or experience in launching your own ICO? Appreciate it

Generally speaking ICOs seem to be getting a bit less automatic attention, as compared with last year, when you could throw a dart and make money off of nearly anything. I merely would question why to launch now, and presume that you believe that there remains a sufficient enough ability to raise money through an ICO if you place the right kind of spin on it, and then the next questions would be how much marketing and spin are you doing in order to distinguish yourself (again I am assuming that any ICO is in a bit of a bear situation at the current moment, and it may or may not ramp up again, so certainly, you could still have some decent chances to get attention and raise money even if you are on the tail end of an earlier trend, perhaps?)
