How are you wasting time? If you go to sleep early, you should essentially wake up early. So whatever you were using time to do late at night, you can use it early in the morning instead.
i get a full 8 hours of
sleep maybe once a week. i usually clock in about 6 hours on average, so if i go to
sleep early i won't necessarily wake up early (damn, i'm not so sure if that made sense, but it did when i thought about it). i'm just too busy with so much shit (class, lifting, reading, cooking, going out, hobbies, etc.) that i feel like i just have to do before i can
sleep.
that's not to say that i feel better when i get 8 hours, the difference just isn't enough for me to actually want to drag myself to bed early every night.
on a more philosophical note, i find
sleep somewhat terrifying. how can i just allow myself to be unconscious for 8 hours? i think the thing that scares me is the fact that you are simply unaware of the transition between being awake and falling a
sleep and that you have no record of time when you were a
sleep. it's like a significant part of your life just disappears into a void of nothingness.
