No offense but I think reading tylerd may be harmful to actual pick up skill, for the reasons you stated (thinker, philosophy).
When it comes to pu, the persistent doers succeed before all.

a little long-winded and pedantic for my liking. not to mention off target in many of the conclusions drawn in the post. most of what he talks about has to do with letting the past and future obscure acceptance of the present, although he never verbalizes it. whether it is allowing past experiences to color your sense of self or perceived sense of worth, or compulsive projection into or obsession with the future, the mind obscuring the "now" and seeking "self" in external outlets is at the root of most dysfunction in humans today. this post just really seemed offbase and nonsensical to me in its explanations of common human behaviors.
that being said, this was all pretty pointless and now my head kinda hurts.

TylerD's blog is pretty good. Long-winded posts but interesting theoretical perspectives.
Just try to avoid paralysis by analysis
