Greetings gents. I'm currently in Romania for the holidays, currently on Day 2 of a week long trip. I have to say that most of the negative info here hasn't been the case at all for me.

I'll wait until I'm gone to describe myself just in case any locals read the forum, but overall I'd give myself a score of a 7. Taller than average, decent build, comfortable clothing during the day, dressed very smart in the evening. Very "exotic" appearance. I've yet to see any of my kind since I arrived.

I've been getting approached and approaching like crazy since I left the airport yesterday. In the airport women were literally doing double takes, very strong eye contact, even a few smiles. On the street it varies between intense staring or they're completely oblivious. I went to a spot called Bellagio last night that was stacked with talent. Everyone was in groups but we kind of bombarded our way into them if the women were pretty enough. Got a lot of numbers, too many in fact, one girl was rather upset, guess she was watching me working.

The women....dude, these women are gorgeous. They vary from blond, blue eyes to an almost middle eastern/arabic look, all shapes and sizes. They have the typical latin flair mixed with what you would expect out of eastern europe. Incredibly sexy. Not to knock Germany (where I reside) but I don't remember the last time I saw so much talent. To top it off they're all very approachable, speak great English and are genuinely interested in talking. I do keep getting asked why I'm here,. I'm a smart ass so my reply varies from "I wanted to buy a sweater" to "Santa dropped me off for you" since today is Christmas. Being here over the holidays is a pretty good cover. It hasn't impeded anything socially either, it's actually perfect because they are all off from work and going out to celebrate later.

I have one bang in my 24 hours from Bellagio. A girl from badoo told me that place is where "all the whores and prostitutes go". I'm not quite sure what she meant, my "working girl" radar didn't go off last night. Who knows.

The only negative thing I can think of, they smoke like crazy, inside every building you can think of. Restaurants, clubs, you name it. As a non-smoker it's brutal.

Suprisingly, the guys are a total non-factor and are actually pretty cool. Met a few, very down to earth and happy to have tourists spending money. Will update as my trip progresses. Peace.

Have to agree with Maledefined concerning Bucharest, I spent a couple of days there and am unlikely to return. Everybody is out to scam you, Taxi driver ripped me off in a big way and got out a baseball bat when I didn't want to pay, gypsies,dogs, and cheap hookers roaming around the centre, even the staff in the Metro ripped me off selling me a ticket for 5 times the real price. Another time the foreign exchange girl cheated me.

I went to Timisoara which was more enjoyable, there is a club called Heavan which is full of hot stuff, there is also a pool outside, so next day we were chilling and some guy stole my friend's phone when we were in the pool.

I may go to Romania again, but will probably be somewhere new like Brasov, Cluj, etc.

Bucharest has its strong and weak points
The strongest point is that it has by far the easiest girls in the country by Romanian standards, though to my experience they can be bitchy and arrogant too. I have not always realized that Bucharest girls are the easiest but in recent years it became obvious to me. For example I have girls from all over the country in my facebook friends list due to a common interest and the sluttier ones are all Bucharest residents. In real life I've had good experiences with Cluj and Oradea chicks when picking up at the Black Sea resorts, they were particularly easy but Bucharest girls I have found to be a strange slutty/ bitchy combination on many occasions. Oradea girls I have found to be particularly open to ONSs. However I live in Iasi and girls from here and in neighboring Romanian Moldova counties are pretty and elegant but not easy. Iasi is very different from Bucharest, Bucharest has a population at least 6 times higher than any other Romanian city.
Bucharest people are some of the most crass, loud and rude in the country. Craiova is full of jerks too, it has quite a few gypsy gangs as well. I even know some Romanian guys from Craiova that are complete bastards but I have met a very sweet yet drop dead gorgeous girl from Craiova in return.
As a foreigner it is not at all recommended to take a cab in Bucharest from the airport or train station because they will rip you off, this is a well known fact. Here in Iasi they always use the meter and in Bucharest they might be using it in the city but not from the airport. Yes, some people have baseball bats in the cars but usually for defense, though I guess sometimes they can use them for threatening, these are the Bucharest people. The dogs are unlikely to bite you unless you provoke them. Gypsies - they are a problem everywhere in Romania.
So yes in Bucharest you have to be cautious not to get ripped off but as I said the good part is that you won't find sluttier women anywhere else in Romania. Transsylvania is the most civilized and beautiful area of the country, Moldova has the most beautiful women and southern Romania has the easiest women. In southern Romania, Constanta people are positive people, but Bucharest and Craiova have many jerks.
