Definitely set up an account on OkCupid. I just did that last week after reading about it on the forum. I'm supposed to link up with a very cute blond from LA on Sunday for drinks near her place. All I did was throw up a few pics, including some with me and some cute chicks, answer some questions to raise my visibility, and put up a quick blab about myself and my international interests. The site e-mails you about which chicks are checking out your profile and they also notify you when they give you a good rating so you really don't need to be on it looking for girls. Most of these chicks in my case have been white, and I've noticed there's a fair number of chicks who are the type of hot ones you see in downtown DC during the day who got their bitch shields turned up and seem to be in a hurry, making them challenging for day game. You never see those chicks out in DC at night, so I'm thinking a good number of them are doing the online thing. I think a brotha like you who's been living in Europe for the past decade will do very well. Be sure to mention that in your profile to fashion yourself as exotic and international. As for playing grounds in the DMV, I think the VA side has more to offer as far as malls and spots to meet twenty-somethings. Since you'll be in Arlington once a week, check out Clarendon. If you plan on getting a gym membership, that would be the place to do it, but many of those girls do online dating anyway.

As for malls, Tysons and Pentagon City are the best in the DC area IMO. You can find plenty of girls to approach in both of them.

But if you're looking for shit to do there, hit up U St. because it's easy to barhop, and also this spot on 18th and California St called Jack Rose. It's right at the base of the street that goes upward into the strip of Adam's Morgan. Other than that, the Chinatown area has its select spots. Hit up Cuba Libre if you're into the latin scene. They open up the dance floor on Fridays and Saturdays. Last time I was there I saw some cuties. Happy Hour venues are also key. Look around online for that kind of intel.

I've had an account on OkCupid for a minute, but I haven't gotten anything but fat black girls and even fatter white girls writing me notes. The problem might be that I don't wanna throw it all up in their faces. Sometimes it comes off as a bit shallow and try hard if I post all my exploits and pictures and cars and adventures online, followed with "I just got back from 10 great years overseas and blah blah" you know? At least that's what I feel. I think girls just want a regular guy. That's pretty much me forgetting that I'm a brother, and that I have to be twice as better than the next guy lol. So yeah, let me work a little harder on my OKC profile and see what happens. I live in PG Country (Laurel) and from what I've seen here (and DC) it's pretty much the same as in Philly. I love my fellow brothers, but it seems like the more of us there are in a city, the harder it is to date outside your race. For whatever reason (income gap, crime, education, etc) cities where there's like a 40 - 50% black population, white chicks (followed by all other races) seem to ignore young black guys or even worse avoid us. I get ZERO eye contact. Every approach is a cold approach. I get some chicks even clutching their men or purses when I walk down a shopping isle. This would be fine if I was slummin it, but I'm a young professional making significantly more money than the people who are turning their noses up at me. It's just frustrating

Anyway we'll see what's what in the months down the road. Maryland might not be the place for me lol. Good thing I work in NoVA.
