Great thread. I have to agree with G. I really don't understand where the Barcelona "overrated" sentiment comes from. For me, it's probably the best all-around city in the world. Barcelona has top-tier nightlife, food, scenery, women (locals and tourists), climate, and beaches. What more could you honestly want in a city?

Underrated: Montreal without a doubt. Few threads about the place were available when I created my "I Love Montreal Data Sheet." I can't think of a North American city that touches it in the summertime. Relentless quantity of attractive women, excellent food, culture, and relatively cheap prices for a large city.

Overrated: For women, Rio de Janeiro. Many of the guys who go there to get laid pay to play. It's not easy to pull there and the nightlife logistics suck, especially compared to Sao Paulo. There's also quite a few fuglies and overweight women walking around. It's still an awesome city that everyone should visit for the beautiful scenery and beach culture but don't get your hopes up about getting laid with a bombshell.

Miami is also overrated. There are tons of girls but, again, it's not necessarily an easy place to pull quality.

As for Los Angeles, I LOVED it when I was younger but as I got older I began to despise it. The car obsession, shallowness of the people, Hollywood influence, and immense sprawl just annoys the crap out of me. There are TONS of LA haters out there so I wouldn't say it's overrated. People love or hate the place. I find that chicks tend to dig it but guys not so much, all else being equal.

NYC can be overrated. Of course it's a great city with almost anything you can find, but it's also very expensive, dirty, crowded, and the ROI isn't as good as in other cities.

Interesting. How do you think it compares to Bishkek? I rate Bish highly for quantity but low for quality. Tashkent seems to score well in both departments.

Rio the city is interesting and worth seeing put I don't remember seeing any talent worth speaking of. I'm sure I must have missed something along the way but I definitely wouldn't be going back there for the girls. However, most brasilian girls I met did have a friendly vibe.

I went to one of the high end clubs in Florianopolis during Easter Weekend. It was highly recommended and cost a fortune. I thought it would be worth the cost and maybe my only chance to experience the true talent of Florianopolis but it was so unbelievably disappointing and average. I wish now that I had spent more time exploring Florianopolis and the beaches instead of being hungover everyday from the overrated and overpriced clubs. After being disappointed in Florianopolis, I didn't feel like wasting my money to go to the high end clubs in Rio.

I haven't been to an underrated place yet because usually I am following the hype from this forum. The places that had a noticeable high level of talent that I have been are BA, Cordoba, and Medellin. I wouldn't in any way say they are underrated though.

Overrated: Sweden. My neighboring country, famous for its amazing women, or rather the myth of its amazing women. Plenty of Swedish girls are hot, but I've found women in Eastern Europe ten times hotter, more feminine and with more fun personalities than I have anywhere in Scandinavia in general. Avoid.

Underrated: Serbia. This place is full of hot women, and the level of westernization is still very low, though growing as anywhere else. Serb girls are some of the better looking ones I've come across and some of them are actually interesting to talk to. Belgrade and Novi Sad are the main cities to be. I spent some time in Nis too, but not long enough to get a feel to it.
The only bummer is that Serbia is landlocked, so if you're looking for some summer fun, then neighboring Montenegro is the place to be. Demographically, its the same as Serbia, though with great beaches and summer parties. Plus, its cheap as balls.

^Same as Serbia, goes for Bulgaria IF you can stay away from the touristy spots such as Varna, Burgas and the surrounding holiday resorts. Though, with the accession into the EU, its westernizing pretty quickly.

The Balkans is still an untapped region. Just my 2 cents.

Overrated:
Rio de Janeiro - Though I love Brazil & it's women, I gotta say Rio is overrated on the basis of possessing the world's most expensive rent. It's geographically astounding but not multi-dimensional or cosmopolitan enough. Go to a place like Mexico City as you would get a much more balanced feel of local culture preservation intertwined with a cool urban feel for the young professionals who visit or decide to live there. I like the local culture in Rio not to mention the cheap eats, but the gastronomical scene with regards to dining and nightlife leaves a lot to be desired...esp for being an international city on the world's radar, hosting 2014 & 2016 events, and having top tier rent pricing. As an "international" city, it's sorely lacking in the "international department" as it's a place that is kind of stuck in it's own culture with no real desire to evolve or diversify. There's nothing wrong with that but it's very unacceptable given the high expenses & global attention of that city. I think I would prefer Belo Horizonte, Sao Paulo, or Curitiba once I go to those places this May. I however believe Carioca chicks can be very open though.

Barcelona -Just a big cliche to me. It's a place with a ton of worthwhile sights hence why it's the 3rd most visited place in Europe. As a complete city overall though, chicks can be tough to crack for visitors and the Catalan pride gets on my nerves. There are good deals to be found here with regards to dining out but 90% of the restaurants are cruddy overpriced tourist traps. Madrid though not possessing as much touristy eye candy has the better vibes IMO as there are likely more worthwhile places to visit in Spain at a cheaper cost with as much personality.

Florianopolis - Great place with a ton of worthwhile sights & beaches. However, it's a logistical nightmare with so many different things spread out not to mention horrible public transportation for a place that attracts so many visitors yearly. A 3-4 day stay as a result usually means most visitors have to extend it to 5-6 to see everything. I like the locals here but 400K people on an island too spread out means you're not going to get as much interaction as one would prefer. Also can't rent scooter or atv's here but you can with 120 per day rental cars that come in stick shift only.

Mykonos - Though I love Mykonos as an island to explore just after peak season, the whole nightlife scene here is a nightmare that can be unsafe with an unusual number of mischievous kids, pickpockets, fights, and unattractive fat chicks really persistent & horny. Probably a better place for couples or someone wanting to rent an ATV/scooter to navigate the beautiful island independently though.

Underrated
Hong Kong - There are those who say HK is a city that doesn't possess as much local culture as the ones in the mainland. Coming from a guy who has however spent time in the touristy side not to mention local parts with relatives & friends living there, I would have to disagree. Keep in mind this city is as culturally rich and geographically mesmerizing as Rio de Janeiro. Instead of resting on it's laurels of it's location & culture only, it's a place that's always striving to be something better with regards to what it can offer it's locals and visitors. It's also cheaper too with more dining, lodging, nightlife, and shopping options. Also a more beautiful sight landing in HK than Rio as well. HK IMO will never be a cliche bc it's a society that is always aiming to outdue itself as you will be mesmerized in new ways with each visit.

Lisbon - I wouldn't recommend Lisbon as a good city for gaming local chicks which I don't find to be that attractive on the basis of averages. The upper class women though on the other = whoa! As a city to visit, I'd highly recommend it. It's a port city that used to revolve overseas navigation as I got that "Age of Discovery" vibe walking around in what was November 2010. As the center of the Portuguese Empire with eventual conquests in what is current day Brazil, Angola, Mozambique, etc, I think many take for granted a city that was perhaps as historically important as say an Athens or Rome. Drinking near the docks of Lisboa and on the outdoor partying of Barrio Alto is a blast not to mention bars/lounges in BA are fun in itself. Surrounding areas of Cascais & Estoril are great for those looking for beaches or a more jetsetter vibe. Sintra is also another great area outside of Lisboa easily accessible by train as you have Castle of the Moors on top of Cabo da Roca, which is the most westernpoint of mainland continental Europe...sounds tacky but it felt cool being there.

Mexico City - Great street food, good nightlife, good shopping, progressive, tons of local culture, cool blue collar neighborhoods mixed with modern European looking ones, amazing people, and supposedly one of the world's happiest cities with an good eye towards the future. What's not to like?

This thread proves everyone is different. While I can agree on some of the difficulty of pulling non-pro Brazilian chicks, there was a reason why I was willing to go through that difficulty. I thought I saw more good-looking women in Brazil than any of the other places I visited. I actually did "extra" sh*t for Brazilian chicks that I would have told other chicks "get lost".

When me and the fellas compare Dominican Republic vs. Brazil, we always say that Salvador (and Rio) had the slightly better-looking chicks but the D.R. had easier-pulling chicks....in addition to the other factors as distance and cost.

Note: I have Colombian chicks (ones I have seen in Costa Rica and Panama) as #2 behind Brazilian chicks. Hell, maybe 1a.

Because it seems different guys have different objectives and expectations in regards to those objectives. Some guys go to mainly fcuk, some go to smoke and surf, some go to fine dine and some go to shop.

Where do you recommend in Spain that is cheaper with as much personality?
