Recently got into an accident and have questions about costs and stuff, if you understand this can you pm me? Thanks.
Anyone work in a body shop or understand it?
No but I do my own work and utilize the artistic prowess of body shops from time to time.
The fact of the matter is, that hourly rate is a deserved one and you're not going to get much negotiating room. Removing panels from cars, sculpting metal, and carefully repainting it is physically hard work and mentally exhausting.
Do you know how hard it is to get a new paint patch job to look 100% perfect against the OEM paint? Don't even try.
You want to save money? Remove the offeding vehicle body part yourself and give it to the guy doing your work. He will fix it. You save a few hours of labour and do the body shop guy the plus of not having to be a wrench monkey.
Any who, unrelated commantary aside just post your question to the board.

Questions aren’t about saving money and is about insurance claims and how things are charged.
What are your questions?
In.
Theres always the diy option but i dont know if your car damage has effected the frame of the vehicle and you having the luxury of time learning it and doing it yourself.
