Women pick men these days based on the same criteria that men have always used to pick women...primarily on who they LIKE as opposed to, in a lot of cases, who they NEED.

Since women are more independent and self sufficient in general these days, they can choose men based on more superficial criteria like looks, status, overall likability, etc.

1. We'd all be better off doing what's best for women at the expense of men.
2. Less fucking is better.
3. Higher marriage rates and longer courtships (which likely means men paying for dinners and gifts without getting any) are better.

This is why I think it's getting harder and harder to merely date within your league. I've been fooling around with online dating, and can get chicks 1-2 points below me with no effort on my part whatsoever - the last four online girls I banged, we banged on the first night, and I never had to drive to them, they always came to me. And I would only see these chicks once or twice a week, so I could easily have two or three on the roster concurrently, if I put in the effort. They never made the slightest peep about being exclusive, even though they had me pegged as a player.

And I'm sure there's some dude with a tighter profile and pics doing the same exact thing with hotter girls. Factor in the fatties too, and that makes it even harder to seduce a girl as attractive as you/ at your level. At least that's been my experience.

I number closed a chick at a college during the day recently, a very cute 7.5. It was just so refreshing. A genuinely cute girl who respects me and visibly appreciates my company, and isn't just aroused by my game, is getting harder and harder to come by, especially at night.

Women are better off in stable, long term relationships, and not as empowered childless 40 year old women. Many men are too. The current market militates against that. Alpha is a drug, and the sluts can't stop taking it. By the time they've realized it, it's often too late.

The question economists aren't confronting: why can't a woman keep a guy past the first date? Their analysis, at least as covered in the article, assumes all women are the same value. Of course, this isn't true. The same man varies his maximum level of investment before sex with the value of the chick. The higher value she is, the longer he's willing to wait. This calculus is dependent of course on his value and thus his outside options. If a woman truly wants more commitment before sex, given the same man, she must increase her value. Lose weight, put on makeup, dress nicely, don't curse, be feminine, respect and compliment the man, etc. Not putting out without increasing value is like... if you had a shitty Hyundai that no one would buy for $5k, so you double the price to $10k to make the sale. You're not fooling anyone. These economists are embarassing, I may write them an email. Though in fairness, the reporter may have made that part up, as it's only attributed to 'experts.'

What's really happening: hypergamy, of course. They want up, and if that means being a slut, so be it.

I'm guessing the reliably high-paid professions- engineering, physics, chemistry are still dominated by men. women get more fluff degrees, but something like a doctorate in clinical psych can sometimes get you over 100k.
