Man raised by wolves prefers the wild over human society

The article is not deep but it does suggest that living in the wild is some kind of Garden of Eden, but without Eve.

Quote:Quote:

A man who was raised by wolves in a cave for 12 years has admitted that he feels disappointed with human life.

Marcos Rodríguez Pantoja was dubbed the Mowgli of Spain when he was found by authorities.

But the former wolf boy says he struggles with the coldness of the human world and wishes he could go back to living with the animals.

He told the BBC: "I didn't know where to go - I just wanted to escape to the mountains."

Rodríguez was 19 when he was discovered living in Spain's Sierra Morena mountain range.

He had been living among wolves for 12 years and was found running around barefoot and half-naked - only using grunts for communication.

But the now 72-year-old lives in a small, cold house and said his last happy memories are of his childhood with the animals, El Pais reports.

Rodríguez found himself living with the wolves when he was left without parents.

His mother passed away when he was three and his dad went to live with another woman.

They took him to the mountains to replace a goatherd who looked after 300 animals - but while he was taught how to make a fire and utensils, the man disappeared or died leaving seven-year-old Rodríguez alone.

The mountain's animals were his only company and just like in the Jungle Book story, the wolf cubs accepted him as a brother.

A she-wolf fed him and he slept in a cave alongside bats, snakes and deer.

The wolves even taught him how to survive and which berries and mushrooms were safe to eat.

He said: "One day I went into a cave and started to play with wolf cubs that lived here and fell asleep. Later, the mother brought food for them and I woke up," the BBC reports.

"The wolf started to rip the meat apart. A cub got close to me and I tried to steal his food because I was hungry as well. The mother pawed at me. I backed off."

But he says after feeding her pups she threw him a piece of meat.

He said: "I didn't want to touch it because I thought she was going to attack me, but she was pushing the meat with her nose.

"I took it, ate it, and thought she was going to bite me, but she put her tongue out, and started to lick me. After that I was one of the family."

But after Rodríguez was found by the Civil Guard and brought into the human world, he says his life has fallen apart.

He says he has been cheated, abused and exploited in the working world and has never truly been able to integrate with other humans.

He says he wishes he could go back to the mountains but it's not the same. He also feels people laugh at him because he does not know much about politics or football or the modern world.

He said: "I think they laugh at me because I don't know about politics or soccer."

And while he has tried to return to the mountains he says it is not what it used to be and the wolves do not recognise him.

Speaking to El Pais he said: "There are wolves and if I call out to them they are going to respond, but they are not going to approach me.

"I smell like people, I wear cologne."

In 2010 a film 'Among Wolves' was released based on Rodríguez's life and many studies have been carried out on him.

He even says he can still mimic the sounds of the deer, fox and eagles - as well as other animals.

But he says although he had to get used to eating with cutlery and sleeping in a bed one of the most disturbing things to him was the hustle and bustle of community life.

He said: "I could not cope with so much noise, the cars, and people going back and forwards like ants. But at least ants all go in the same direction. People went everywhere. I was scared of crossing the road."

He now lives in a small house, with cave-like low ceilings which is packed with memorabilia and drawings.

He also has a patio full of plants and flowers to help him feel as if he is in the wild.

Marcos Rodríguez Pantoja is not the only person to have lived in the wild and been raised by animals, the Week reports.

Marina Chapman was five-years-old when she was reportedly kidnapped in Colombia and abandoned in the jungle.

She managed to join a tribe of capuchin monkeys and copied what they ate, drank and how they behaved.

This led to her being accepted into the family where she stayed for five years where she was found by hunters and sold to a brothel which she eventually managed to escape.

Raised by goats

A toddler was found locked in a room with goats by social worked in Russia in 2012.

It is believed he played and slept with the animals but was severely underweight when he was found.

When he was rescued his mother, who reportedly had locked him in the room, had disappeared.

Raised by wild cats

In 2008 an abandoned one-year-old boy was found by Argentinean police surrounded by eight wild cats.

It is thought they kept the boy alive by lying on top of him in the cold and even tried to lick crusted mud from his skin.

When he was found he was seen eating scraps of food likely given to him by the animals.

Raised by wild dogs

A boy way found living in a cave in Chile in 2001. The 10-year-old who had been abandoned and fled care lived with the pack of dogs whi protected him and helped him scavenge for food.

Officials at the time said the boy may have even drank milk from one of the female dogs.

Wow that's a wild, but sad story. The circumstances surrounding your childhood really do strongly determine your trajectory in life. Luck plays a big part - you gotta wonder what might have happened if this guy had found a mentor and turned it around. Tragic.

I've seen similar effects to a lesser extent on kids that are homeschooled and then go to public school for middle or high school. They've only been around family for the most part and aren't socialized to deal with other kids, so they haven't developed sufficient levels of mistrust.

You can always go to the countryside. When I get fed up from the lack of privacy, rules, internet, feminism, etc. Just travel one or two hours and things become lighter. Was going to buy a farm last year but couldn´t agree on the price with the seller. Bought something smaller. Not so much isolated though.

I'm not seeing the negative sides here.

The beauty in life is that, while it is a survival of the fittest, man and animal can form a bond.

That is one of the most wonderful things I can imagine.

But I don't put any stock in this man's criticisms of civil society (most likely pulled out with some invisible editorializing by the reporters), just like I wouldn't let my cat tell me how to invest.

The 2 men who created the ancient city of Rome, Italy were raised by a wolf:

He's right at home in the wolfpack

No shit. Too many damn people around. Stick with your pack, your tribe, your clan, stay the hell away from cities, and you'll be all right.

You guys think its better to be rise by wolves or by apes?
There is something similar among soldiers, no matter if today or in the past. Face war, dead and the true bound of camaraderie make some men addicted to that. Even after some went to war, the honest boundary of similar men made them go again, made them lift up their spirit. Where are the higher values of honour, of trust, of truth where young men can look up to? Its about hustle, become rich, a player, permanent leverage of everything around you. This is a sorrow life because you try to fill your own greed, permanent have to watch out that nobody snitch you. Or you try to be aware of gold diggers, false friends, the government.

We will stand tall in the sunshine
With the truth upon our side
And if we have to go alone
We'll go alone with pride

For us, these conflicts can be resolved by appeal to the deeply ingrained higher principle embodied in the law, that individuals have the right (within defined limits) to choose how to live. But this Western notion of individualism and tolerance is by no means a conception in all cultures. - Theodore Dalrymple

Being raised by wolves doesn't sound bad. I think the absolute worse for a child would be to be raised by the Internet.

I don't blame him for being disappointed with society.
PS - I didn't realise how common these cases are. They are too sad for me to read more about.

I very recently watched MANHUNT: UNABOMBER on Netflix. The show itself was reasonably well produced and very well acted.

It prompted me to do a little digging into the case and what I learned was pretty amazing. Kazcysnski (sic) may be a clinical schizo paranoid and delusional but he is fucking smart. If his own lawyers and the presiding judge hadn't fucked him he'd probably would've had the searche warrant they used to arrest him thrown out and he'd of walked free.

Its really a fascinating case and I find myself conflicted because its a clear case of his constitutional rights were violated (which has serious implications for all of us) and the fact is he would have certainly bombed / killed more people.

To your point, I also read his "manifesto" and was amazed not only at how well written but how prescient his positions were especially on the degenerative course of leftism. He basically predicted the advent of SJW, and identity politics years before there was even an internet.

I was startled really
