Did 3 months in Medellin (Fall 2018) & 1 Month in Pereira

Medellin - recommend El Poblado, in the Provenza area (not lleras) if you want the beauties. I also lived in Laureles (Setenta) but found poblado safer and nicer. If I was looking for a cheaper option, I'd recommend Envigado, because its just a bus on Cra 43a to Poblado.
I stayed at Soul Hotel, which was a really clean hotel apartment where the staff speak English. I also stayed in a nice apartment in Poblado through AirBnB which cost me 850 USD for 1 Month.

I was fairly focussed on learning the language which I need for work, and what I can say is that the quality of girls I could pull seemed to increase with my language skills. Whether this was texting or in person, a little conversation makes things go smooth.

Bars: Vintrash is a good spot in Poblado with a mix of Colombians and Expats. Also, go to Setenta to party. A lot less foreigners there, and chicks are just as hot.

Dancing: If you are going to learn to dance, I'd go to Dancefree. It isn't super cheap, but you get one on one lessons with one of a selection of beautiful girls in their early 20s.

Bangs: I had one steady girl the entire time, it took me a few goes to close her but she was hooked after that, and actually not too dramatic which you hear about the Colombianas. Also met girls from Tinder largely and hit about 4 or 5 of them also, mostly in my last month when I had gained comfort with the language.

Pereira:
The girls in Medellin are hotter, but you get more gringo factor in Pereira so its an advantage. Simply put, this isn't a tourist city. I think if you set up shop here though, you could become a known person as the Colombians in Pereira are more interested in befriending you, because there isn't the same coke and whores image as in Medellin.

Bars: Elefant is the club. I like drinking in the Upper Floor of the Victoria Mall, its super chill and very easy to chat up whoever is there. I would recommend that as a good location for a casual first date or to just go on your own and meet chicks organically.

Location: Recommend staying on Circunvalar , safest spot and all the nightlife is here

Gym: Bodytech isn't cheap, but if you go around 11am the talent comes out. I've never worked out anywhere with so many top caliber babes.

Bangs: Closed a couple, and had one steady. Unfortunately had to head home for work and the trip got cut short. Didn't go out a tonne, mostly just hit the gym and worked on this trip. Had one rocket of a girl early on, but couldn't close her.

Interesting that you found Poblado to be safer than la 70, is there any particular reason for that? I hear of a lot more acts of violence occurring in Poblado, yes its more wealthy and upper class over there but it seems that the thieves go there more often and target gringos.

I can’t say that I agree on the women in la 70 being just as attractive as those in Poblado and I’m saying this as someone who spends the majority of my time in Medellin staying on la 70, near estadio. I can’t think of any bars or clubs on la 70 that would match the talent found at a club like Vintrash, maybe some of the fondas like Oye Bonita?

I like la 70 because its flat, cheaper and up until a couple of years ago, had fewer gringos but that has definitely changed, still a decent place to stay but definitely not the best in terms of what the city has to offer.

Pereira is cool for a few days but as you noticed, you can’t really date a lot of different chicas there as its a small city and you’ll be seen around town. I usually spent 2-3 days there en route between Cali/Bogota or Cali/Medellin via bus, I also pick up some coffee from a small finca in Dos Quebradas which is also a decent spot to party in, that’s where the after hours clubs are.

>> You make a good point. There are some shady characters up and down 44 San Juan in Setenta, also if you go a little west. Maybe I just didn't have the proper lay of the land to know how things were. But Lleras has its problems too. I actually couldn't really say which is better or worse, so I'll go along with you.

I never did make it to Dos Quebradas clubs >> next time back I'll check it out. While the talent in Pereira might be a little lower, there are lots of babes in Armenia and Manizales I never made it out to visit. They are bored of the same old guys so I think there is some opportunity there. Plus I would just like it more as a place to live, less traffic and pollution
