Theres your answer right there. Older and single means a decade plus of being p'd & d'd which in turn means a hair trigger on their BS-dar. They come in thinking your full of shit and dont want alcohol interfering with their ability to sniff it out. They usually aint worth the hassle

It could mean anything, it's all about context and reading the chick.

It could mean "i'm not turned on by you so there's no reason for me to drink and let loose because I don't want to let loose around a guy that doesn't turn me on" it could mean "i'm a recovering/borderline alcoholic" it could mean "im kind of on-the-fence about you so I dont want to drink and slut it up with a guy I'll probably regret sleeping with tomorrow" it could mean "i'm still mentally recovering from my last date rape incident a few weeks ago" it could mean "im on that opiate/alcohol shot that lasts six months, so I can't get high or drunk even if I ingested said drugs, my neurotransmitters are blocked up for the next few months, oh did I mention I'm a dopehead which is why my dad forced me to get the shot so he wouldn't disown me"

"I don't really X" means "it's bad for me but I'm not disciplined enough to lay off of it." Whether that's drinking, sleeping with strange guys or whatever.

In this case, with older women, it's them signaling that they don't want the "party" date experience. It's common for women to age into their 30's and decide they need a more "sophisticated" date plan so they don't feel like they are trying to recapture their 20's.

Some of them might be earnest and simply suggesting a date that isn't a bar or a restaurant since they are bored with that. Take the hint and show her a more original kind of good time. Go to town on minigolf, a museum, a farmer's market, a walking tour, amateur night at a comedy club or some shit like that.

Drinking is fattening (especially the late night food) I don't know if women are that weight conscious over it. (I know I am ..one beer is about 125 calories x number of beers.....a 6 foot guys daily calorie intake is around 2000)

IMO chicks learn in their early 20's "they can't drink like a man" (although they want to try) The hangovers alone age them quicker along with adding more mental issues into the hormonal stew they deal with daily.

3 drinks....some food while drinking ...and dancing (to burn off) is the typical evolved chick...who wants to "stay in control of herself"

Another point made from posts is the illicit drugs/alcohol mix chicks try to use...guys use it to drink more or less (be happier).....for chicks it typically never ends pretty either way.

I would love to see a survey on prescription drug use on today's women/men. Uppers downers over/unders... mood enhancers/de-hancers, antipsychotics, pain killers and tranquilizers. Women are already zoned out on pills and know they don't need any alcohol (or can't) IMO

I also see prescription drug use as just one more reason that the bars are getting emptier and/or filling up later with fucked up older chicks.

I am just learning not to gesture to quick or be exuberant/loud around todays women, I basically mean not to startle chicks (I waved my arm once to get the check from a passing waiter and the chick I was with almost passed out it seemed) because (too me) many are barely keeping it together mentally with drugs.

So a possible meaning(s) why chicks say the don't really drink.

Truth be told, I love sober dates for a number of reasons:

1. my morning ritual stays intact
2. lighter on the wallet.
3. you get to see what the girl is like without the social lubrication of alcohol.
4. harder for them to claim date rape if they came to your spot sober.

Yeah man, I've been sober for four years and have smashed quite a few stone cold sober broads. Personality, it has been rewarding because I smash what I'm attracted to. None of that drink till she's tolerable shit.
