Prague Data Sheet

OK, I've been sitting on a few data sheets for a few months, way too lazy to type them up. Here's the first one. Hopefully a few more coming in the next couple days.

Prague, Czech Republic

Quality of Women: 3.5 / 5
Ease of Hook Up: 3 / 5
Things to Do: 3.5 / 5

Time Spent: Three trips, two for four days each, one for 2 weeks. So like 3 weeks total.
Lays: 1 (Flag acquired)

Executive Summary: Prague may as well be two cities in one. There's the beautiful, tourist-ridden old city, and then the outskirts with all of the locals -- the real Prague. Your experience here is going to vary greatly depending on your ability to get off the beaten path... if you want to, of course.

The Women: I'll start with the locals. The local women are beautiful, but not spectacular. Prague is the gateway to Eastern Europe, and the women will get hotter as you go east. But that's not to take anything away from the locals here. They are hot. And if not for the over-abundance of tourists and backpackers skewing the rating down, I would have given the quality rating of 4/5.

Being the gateway to Eastern Europe, Prague's culture falls perfectly halfway between East and West in many ways. And the women are no different. They are obviously more feminine and sexier than Western women, but at the same time, they're more out-spoken and assertive than their Eastern counterparts.

The language barrier is an immediate problem. My experience was that only about 50% of Czech girls speak passable English. But often you'll have trouble even getting that many to speak it to you. Czech culture is very perfectionist, and so Czech people are conditioned not to attempt to do something unless they're confident they can do it. As a result, there are many Czech people who can speak some decent English but who won't try because they're too embarrassed or lack the confidence to. Unfortunately, unless you can speak a little Czech, this isn't going to change. I hooked up (and almost pulled) a girl who spoke no English, and it wasn't until after an hour together and making out non-stop that she finally worked up the nerve to try and ask me my name.

Many Czech people speak German instead of English, so if you speak German that may give you more options.

The tourist girls are basically what'd you expect. The center of Prague is absolutely overrun with backpackers. Other than Amsterdam, I have never seen the center of a city ruined by so many drunk backpackers in my life. There are bars full of nothing but tourists (listed below), and if you didn't know better, you could spend your entire time in Prague and never meet a local.

As is typical, the backpackers are mostly American, British, Irish and Canadian. They're usually very drunk and very easy to lay, assuming you have your own room. Prague is a very walkable city, so logistics should never be much of an issue. Taxis are notorious for ripping tourists off, but trolleys and the metro run all night and are free, so it's easy to get around.

The Nightlife

Prague's nightlife, from what I understand, is quite cyclical. It's going to vary a bit depending on the time of year. Thursday through Saturday is good year round. And Tuesday and Wednesday are good when the students are in town (not summer). During the summer, the students leave and tourists show up, so the venues with tons of prospects will shift. Nightlife also dries up a bit with cold winters. My guess is the best times to go would be in the Fall and/or Spring.

Nightlife runs fairly late, until 3-4 most nights and as late as 5AM on the weekends in some places. Most places don't start to fill up until midnight or so.

Karlovy Lazne: This is the most hyped-up club in town, especially to all of the tourists. Avoid if at all possible. It's promoted as the biggest club in mainland Europe (five floors). And yeah, it is pretty big. And yeah, there are a lot of people there. But it's you and every other greasy tourist in Prague. I've been here 4-5 times, probably approached 20 girls here total and never run into a Czech person here who wasn't the bartender. Ratio is usually awful. You run into a lot of middle aged people who think they're living it up on vacation or whatever. It's weird to be hanging out by a dance floor and see people who look like your mom and dad sipping on overpriced Mai Tais.

The size and the fact that it at least has people just about every night of the week is enticing, but please... don't go here unless you have no other alternative. Whenever I meet someone who raves about Prague, I ask them if they liked this place. If they say yes, it tells me that they never actually saw the real Prague.

Bombay Bar: More of a bar scene. 90% tourists. Horrible ratio both times I went. Avoid.

Aloha Cocktail Bar: I like this place. It's a very chill and low-key cocktail bar. More of a 25-35 year old scene, but a mix of ex-pats, tourists and Czechs. Good for a quiet night or cougar-hunting.

Lucerna Music Bar: There may not be a bar in the world that I have such a love/hate relationship as I do with Lucerna. The place is filthy, plays awful 80's music, is 60/40 tourists to Czechs, but for whatever reason, I've always had good luck here. This may be Prague's bar for locals who want to meet a foreigner (I've noticed most cities in Eastern Europe have a place like this). Both Czech girls I hooked up with came from here. The quality is lower than the clubs out in the 'burbs, but you can usually find at least a couple girls in here to hold your interest.

For whatever reason, half the nights I went out, I'd end up back here. This was my last resort venue, and it felt like every time I went, I did pretty well. I'd say if you're a newbie or intermediate, this place should be your bread and butter on weekends.

Roxy: Only went once. No idea who the DJ was when I went, but apparently he was a big deal and he was fucking killing it that night. I'm not a huge electronic music fan, but I almost forgot there were even girls there he was so good. Fun place. My experience though was that most of the girls were pretty young. Drinking age in Czech Republic is 16 I believe, and there were a lot of high school age girls here.

Phenomenon: Small club in a basement out in the 'burbs. About a 10 min metro ride from the city center. This place was either dead or packed every time I went. 80/20 Czechs to tourist ratio. Good guy/girl ratio. First time I went my student and I met two Czech porn actresses. Unfortunately my student blew it pretty hard. That one killed me to let go (and reminded me why I charge these guys money). All in all, recommended.

Sa Sa Zu: This was my favorite club the whole time I was in Prague. Out in the suburbs. Nice big upscale club. 50/50 Czechs to tourists, but the tourists were mostly Russian -- which I really liked after spending a month in Russia. I just love Russian girls. Girls here are hot. A significant step up from any place in the city center. They're also harder to game. Language barrier becomes a legit issue here. Big dance floor and loud music as well. Rumor had it that Russian mob guys hang out here, but I don't know how credible that is.

Mecca: Reputation as the most high-end place with the hottest girls. Also in the suburbs. I found it to be a bit cramped and cheesy. Ratio wasn't great, but seemed like almost all Czechs. I didn't stay long because my friend wasn't feeling well. Worth checking out again.

Strip Clubs: Avoid all strip clubs. They're massive rip offs. Prague is a major P4P city, and it's kind of hilarious to have a girl sit on your lap and offer to give you a lap dance for twice as much as it costs to walk down the street and fuck a pro. These places are notorious for scamming people and overcharging you in all sorts of subtle ways. If you're going to go this route, you might as well just go talk to pros. Save yourself time (and money).

Day Game

Prague is an excellent day game city. There are constantly tons of people walking around the old city. You can't really go wrong anywhere in it. But a couple of great places are the main road by the Mustek train station, the old square, and there's a large Tesco a few blocks from the city center with lots of girls walking around.

Really you don't have to look far. Just stay in the old city and you can't miss tons of opportunities.

Things to Do:

Prague is a huge tourist destination for its architecture and old sites. Tyn Church and the Old Town Square are worth a visit. A walk along the Charles bridge and visiting the castle is cool too. There are a couple of more minor museums, but honestly not a whole lot of sightseeing stuff beyond a day or two. It's a beautiful city though -- one of the most beautiful I've ever been to, so just walking around in and of itself is pretty noteworthy. There are river cruises if you want to chill and take in the city. And the usual bus tours. But honestly I don't think either are necessary.

Prague is also a huge cultural center for art and music. It surprisingly has a pretty major jazz scene and a number of festivals in the summer. Lots of great music comes through the city and I was able to see a couple cool concerts while I was there.

Nice report.

For those considering a trip there, Ill suggest you research Brno and Ostrava too. Both are very close to the Austrian, Polish and Slovakian borders with good transport in and out. These are the Tier 2 cities, with Brno having a lot of students. There are fewer tourists and while language is always a problem, I find the women far more approachable there.

Free public transport? I was in Prague in 2007 and don't think that was the case then.
Great report otherwise.

It's similar to Germany. Tickets but no turnstiles. Nobody ever checks and if they do you can play the dumb tourist card. If you want to pay the 1.25 or whatever, you can. But most people just walk right on.

NIce Accurate report, I couldn't have put it better myself. As far as strip clubs go, Darling cabaret and Rio by old town Square are the biggest ripoffs of them all. M1 Bar was a really good bar to hangout, it had a good female to male ratio.

They check alright. Got checked plenty of times - in Germany, France, Czech, Poland, Hungary, Romania. They even followed me outside the train in Berlin to ask for a ticket, I guess they are used to people 'getting off the train when they see a controller'.

When I was a novice traveler I was 'hey, free transport!' however I got caught more than once and it's quite a hassle. Playing 'dumb tourist' DOES NOT work. They do not let you off the hook easily. Unless you enjoy conflict and threats it will not be a pleasant experience.

Also very not true that most people "just walk right on". As I have witnessed many controller checks, 98% of people did have tickets during those checks. People 'walk right on' because they have seasonal tickets (e.g. a monthly ticket).

Due to my experience I stopped cheating public transport looong ago.

I don't know about Prague but in Germany there are checks in most major cities. German authorities are not known for their humor so playing dumb with then will not get you of the hook.

Also this kind of system works because people have a sense of decency about it. Abuse it and it turns into a gated system under surveillance.

What was funny in Germany though was it was a girl who checked the tickets, accompanied by a dude who well, looked like a girl too.

In Poland, haha, you are required to spend 10 years pumping iron before you can apply to be a controller. Well I'm joking but it does look that way sometimes. And a girl controller? ROTFL, never.

My Ukranian girlfriend and I got checked for tickets by two burly plainclothes cops that kind of scared me at first, they were pretty rough looking. I didn't know who they were at first, in the USA guys like that are detectives or something and aren't doing menial stuff like that. I had no idea what they wanted but my chick understood right away and produced the tickets we had bought.

They immediately changed demeanor to polite and smiling.

I think the fine is a lot, like 50? times the price of the tickets so
I would personally not like having that exchange with those guys.

I grew up in Bratislava, Slovakia (with public transport very similar to Prague's) and, yeah, the controllers come in quite often, usually in pairs and lock down the bus until they check everybody. I doubt playing dumb would help, if anything you as a westerner will be considered wealthy enough to pay the fine, it used to be 100x the standard fare or so, but this was long time ago...

And, I'm pretty sure drinking age is 18, at least it used to be 10 years ago, doubt it went down

I love this city , i did my first backpacking in Prague on new years eve 2008/2009. i got introduced to facebook and instantly had 15 friends on there.
Its not in your list but we went to a place called the Beer factory, a bar with 8 tables and a dancefloor. Every table has 4 beer taps and a counter. There was a screen on the wall showing which table drinks the most. There were a group of German and a group of Italians competing for the first place. The Germans won but both groups were drunk as fuck.

We drank 16 litres of beer with 3 guys and a girl in less than 2 hours.
I had an awesome time there. Will be back !

My buddy recently got busted in Prague for not having a ticket (during the day, on a bus). Fine was like $60. I met a British couple that got busted in Prague for not having a ticket. They argued with him and he lowered the fine. They took the ticket to the main office to have it verified. It turns out the checker scammed them. He charged the 300 crowns but for the offense he wrote on the ticket it was supposed to be 100 crowns (he put down over-sized luggage as the offense). So the checker pocketed 200 crowns ($12).

At a bar, I did not count my change but realized later the female bartender scammed me. After that I wised up. At a convenience store, an old woman clerk tried to scam me. I counted my change and caught her. Later I was at McDonald's, the clerk tried to rip me off with my change. I asked for receipt, counted my change and caught him. Yes, at fucking McDonalds! I stayed a cheap hotel (pension) and the owner was super cool with me, giving me a discount. Not everyone is looking to scam the tourists, but be careful.

About the girls there: the girls are attractive and were friendly to me. If I stayed longer I'm quite sure I could have gotten a flag. My friend says girls there are easy. Overall I like Prague.

BTW, a month ago I was in Berlin on the metro and I was checked (I had a ticket). When I was in Wroclaw the locals told me that they never check on the night buses but they do check during the day.

I'm headed to Prague next Saturday and was wondering if anyone had info on good places for Sunday and Monday nights. I figured Saturday won't be an issue but it might be hard to find action on off nights.

Alright I just got back from Prague. I stayed with a friend in Praha 1. only about small streets from the Charles bridge.
Weekend was pretty wild. I was unlucky in landing a Czech girl but I did fall back on my german and fucked a skinny german girl with a cute face and no body( I should have known she couldnt fuck cause she had no rhythm on the dance floor either)

Czechs are some characters. Since my friend has been there a while he know locals and local stuff
The couple people in his apartment complex are crazy. This Mongolian dude thats got some sort of mad science project in his place. on the other side of the hall is a rough looking czech dude(brawler hooligan) thats always drunk or high and has a sexy as fuck girl. He said he walked up to her somewhere in east Czech and said. something along the lines of
"You want to live in prague? Ill take you and you can live with me."
Bam.. he took the bitch with him..been smashing her loudly ever since. And the girl is a G..she's got that mysterious charm on top of being quiet. She isn't stupid..I know she's got a whole game plan and just stays shy so no one figures her out. Czech girls have game of their own.

I won't put out to many places since they could also easily get overrun by even more ttourist.
Some places..I really had to struggle to get someone to speak english or german cause everyone was czech

Popo Cafe Petl
This place was off the corner of some square I think..in a little corner with a door that went 2 floors down to the bar.
Small dance floor but lots of tables.
The bar is the choke point because you have to go past it to get tables.
Girls in here were decent..but not top notch
This place plays alternative stuff..rock,olderstyle hip hop ect
really cheap drinks though

M1 lounge
plays hip hop and house music.
It seems like a popular place..but it wasnt to packed..and I can say(at least the nights i was there) there were a hoard of english speakers.
I met a german chicks and her polish friend..everyone else was czech
I almost closed this beautiful mixed looking czech girl..but her friend took her from me.

Bombay bar gets a star cause I met two Kazakh chicks here.
I thought she was korean or something with a nice ass till I heard her accent.

Theres 2 little bars near on the praha 1 side near the other bridge( dont have specific details)
But it was packed with all woman..my friend told me about this place and said keep it secret.
The girls are kinda hipster but he says he doesnt go often since the place is so small but every time he goes..he pulls a chick.
The place is like a small apartment and is cafe styled.
I went and actually started talking to two girls..one tall young dutch girl and and a a older czech/american woman..probably touching 40..but she was giving me the eye the whole conversation.
I left the bar but my friend that stayed says the two women took him to a club sometimes after.
^^ I just described half of the local bars in the city

*
I would have to agree and say girls kinda like to be manhandled a little bit here. Be strong and forceful with girls.
It does not pay to be nice here

**
I was only controlled once on the trains.
Just buy a ticket..Its cheap as hell.
Czech cops are no bullshit and don't speak english.
I saw a girl getting a ticket for crossing the street on a red light and she was pretty sexy..cop couldnt give a shit

Karlovy Lazne:
Like everyone says..try to avoid this place
I went..made out with about 4 different girls.
best one was a drunk, bigger titted version of hayden panettiere.
fingered some hot czech her that had been in the club way to long and smelled like BO ect
But people are here for stag parties or to be drunk and not know any better.
plus the bar crawl hits here..so alot of people with have bar crawl shirts on giving them away as the drunkest people
This is the sleaziest building around and you;ll get lucky if you even hear a czech talking in her.
But if you start to strike out and wanna try something last minute. go here but dont expect anything spectacular

All in all actually wasnt impressed with Prague.
The city is nice..But so many tourist that the attractiveness of the girls go down as a whole..and czech girls werent all that attractive to me.

I saw more stunners in Budapest.
Someone might try to disagree with this..But I saw hotter girls in the Hamburg main train station than in most of Prague
If you want quality..go further east in the czech
The landscape is beautiful and the little untouched towns are surely goldmines

About Popo Cafe Petl there is actually 7 of those all over Prague.

Care to share some of those spots you talked about via PM? I still havent found any of those awesome places filled with chicks. Then again i havent been looking THAT hard. Focussing more on daygame here. I had good luck at Harleys theres lots of drunk and DTF chicks there.

And about german chicks hotter than czech ... you gotta be kidding me.
Here in Prague i just stumlbe out of my door and fall over cute and hot girls left and right. Maybe its the location there is a high school and a students dorm on my block filled with young hotties [Image: tard.gif]

In germany i can go days without seeing a hottie.

Maybe its different in hamburg i dont know...

Well damn I didnt know there was 7 of them.
I have no idea where the one i went to was.
I can say..Theres a couple black dudes scattered in because they sell weed on the streets in front.

One thing i did like..People could roll a join right in the club at the table.
No one gave a fuck.

I knew someone would disagree.
I would say, just come to hamburg.
Its not even just german girls..lots of different groups around hamburg.
I like east european women..But I was more under the assumption that (like you said) I would stumble over hot chicks.
I didnt feel that way

Ya ok that was what i thought "i bet its more international ppl then in hamburg" cuz the german girls are really nothing to write home about IMO.

But yeah never been to hamburg so i wouldnt know.

Sometimes on a good day when i go to my gym out in the suburbs i see so many hot chicks. Last week i hit on 5 girls on my way to the gym and they were all hot. And just 30 mins ago i went to the corner store to get some beer and there was a group of 3 jailbait young girls giving me the eye and giggling as i walked by, plus two hot chicks walking their dogs. Thats what i see on a 5min stroll here, back in germany i had to walk around the city for hours to see as much.

Of course in the city centre its different theres way more tourists around.

And yeah for me as a pothead its great i can smoke in bars.
Now plz pm me those pussy paradise bars haa.

Prague Data Sheet

In an attempt to redeem myself after the last thread I started, I want to contribute something of substance to the community.

I've been living in Prague for the past year and a half. I can speak definitively on almost all aspects of life here (yes including the women), as I have been carefully observing peoples' behavior in this beautiful city. Based on personal experience, I will start with the women. Then I will recommend venues all over the city that haven't been mentioned. This country has turned me into a fledgling alcoholic, so I've been everywhere.

Women
I have personally never seen such a high concentration of bombshells in my entire life. The girls here are extremely hot, but if you want to game them, keep these things in mind...

1.) The biggest key to getting your foot in the door is showing the girls you're actually interested in their country/language. Even if you're only gonna be there for a few days, learn the basic words like hello, goodbye and thank you. If you're planning on moving out here, learning Czech WILL get you ass. The girls find it extremely cute when foreigners speak Czech. To be honest, a lot of my success here is because of this. Since it's kind of an insignificant language worldwide, speaking broken, idiotic Czech will get you a lot of "You speak very well Czech" and a lot of female attention.

After you establish that you're an open-minded, conscientious man, switch the convo to English and start cracking jokes. Czech people like dark, sarcastic humor. If you can make her laugh, it will be easy after that. Amp up the physical contact and it's smooth sailing from there.

"Nice Guy Game" doesn't work here except on uglies. In your approach be a little dry, and have a quick reply for everything she says. One negative is girls call you out on things a lot. If you say something stupid, or you're just being awkward, they'll openly tease you in a "really, dude?" kind of way.

2.) The girls, and Czechs in general, are very nosy and care a lot about what you do/what you study. No matter how good your opener is, expect the conversation to get to this point:

Girl: What are you doing here?
You: _____
Girl: And what do you study?

If you didn't go to college, then lie and say you did. If you have or are going for a Liberal Arts degree, then say Economics or Engineering instead. Czech people sit around and talk about school all the fucking time. And not about the subject matter, but about what OTHER people are doing. They care a lot about what their peers are studying, where they're working etc. They use these criteria to judge people, so if you're here for a short time, just make shit up.

With those things in mind, get at it!

There are a couple sub-sets of girls to avoid.
1.) Girls who think wearing camping shit is cool.
Here wearing outdoorsy, camping shit is kind of a fashion trend for some reason. I've noticed girls who wear this shit are generally lame and date dorks with ponytails.
2.) Dirty dreadlocked hippie-wannabes. Enough said.

Venues

There is one street here called Dlouha. This street has three really good bars that haven't been mentioned. Roxy is also on this street.

1.) Harley's
I've had the most success in this bar. Downside is it gets really packed and the dimensions of the place are horrible for navigating around, but extremely hot Czech girls go here. On Friday and Saturday nights expect to see a row of hotties dancing on the bar, Drinks are kind of expensive but the place stays open until 6 AM.

2.)NOD
This place is located right next to Roxy. It's only a sitdown place with an artsy feel, but it's big with a lot of seating. Again, this place is frequented mostly by young Czechs. Drinks are much cheaper here. Beer will run you about $1.50.

3.) 2. patro (Second Floor)
Just a few steps away from NOD. Guys, this is THE place to go if you're an experienced player. It has everything...couches for chilling, relatively cheap drinks, and always PACKED with hotties. Again, a decent Czech to foreigner ratio here. Goes till about 4AM.

4.)James Dean.
Very similar to Harley's and located nearby

5.) Cross Club
It's basically a multifloor pub that has music events regularly. These events can get wild, and there are always babes here on Friday/Saturday night.

For all of the aforementioned places, it's good to go early. Around 10. Be prepared for a wild night out!

Places that have already been mentioned that are good are Lucerna Music Bar, SaZaZu and Aloha.

If you're into tilting back pints like me, good pubs to check out are:
U Vejvodu
Budvarka
Zly Casy
Bernard Pub
It's not unlikely to run into groups of attractive women in normal everyday pubs.

Just some suggestions. You can find high-quality beer for amazing prices virtually everywhere.

Hope you guys find this useful. I've travelled extensively all over the Czech Republic and know a lot about this place. I'll put together a datasheet on more obscure places when I get a chance. There is talent everywhere in this country, so it's worth exploring every nook and cranny. Peace.

Has anyone tried settle down from scratch in Prague? Is it easy to integrate in a community, czech or expat?

Does the city feel to turisty after a while?

I am thinking of trying another city than Oslo, so far Prague seems like my best bet. But if its hard to brake into social circles, its just not worth it.

Finding an expat community will be really easy, but in my opinion these people suck. They don't respect the culture. There are people who have been living here for 5+ years and still can't speak a lick of Czech.

If you're young, it will be very easy to make Czech friends. Most young people in Prague have decent conversational English and are eager to speak with natives speakers. They are also very loyal friends. Just be outgoing and introduce yourself to people, and you'll have a group of friends in no time.

The older you go, the harder it will be to fully integrate. I live in an apartment building and people still think I'm kind of strange. The only way to crack these people is with advanced Czech...enough to understand the nuances of their humor (a level I haven't reached).

You'll start to HATE the tourists after a while. The center is absolutely mobbed by them year round, especially once the weather gets warm. You'll soon find yourself avoiding it as much as you can and frequenting the places off the beaten path instead.

So main point...if you're young, this is the place to be. Great city to live in.

------------------------------------

Also, quick suggestion for DAY GAME.

If you're young enough to look like a college student, visit two of the universities here.
The first is VSE (Economic University) -- You are guaranteed to see hotties all over this campus. The winner of this year's Miss Czech Republic competition goes to this school, and there are many like her there. Tons of babes from Slovakia study there too. There are student pubs and restaurants on campus, so just post up and wait for your opportunity.

The other is CZU (Agricultural University) -- believe it or not, tons of hot chicks here too. My crib is a 5 min walk from this place. It has at least three pubs and two restaurants on campus. My recommendation is "Na Farme" (On the Farm in English). Weekdays around lunchtime or after classes let out in the late afternoon are peak hours. Cheap beer, too.

Happy hunting!

You mean here? https://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF-8&q=...J0BEPwSMAs

That's quite away from the center. Might actually be brilliant actually. Can it be that good that it's worth living that far out? The other university is closer to the center. Which would you choose?
