I have always used music in this way from as far back as I can remember. An introspective type, I would often use music to complement a particular state of mind I was in (or wanted to be in). Being an avid vinyl collector & DJ this is a hard ask, I would have to say that 'that one song' for me has changed over time. I'll post the top 5 in chronological order.
Bobby Womack: Fact Of Life / He'll Be There
Really enjoyed the Bobby Womack inclusion. He's got to be my favorite soul/R&B artist outside of Bill Withers. Fact of Life always struck a chord with me, because I've lived that nomad life for so long. His cover of Fire & Rain always gets me.
There's also so much straight knowledge on women and relationships. His music is a great reminder that beneath game and all of the theory we discuss, women are just emotional creatures who need validation and attention. That "aloof alpha" pose is designed for short-term conquest (and works well), but I've always felt that he spoke more to "relationship game" and genuine emotional connection with a woman. The fact that there's nothing wrong with catching feelings and falling in love, just maintain your sense of self-identify and respect as a man in the process.
