Minot, North Dakota Datasheet.
Small town, hot white women, family values, 7 months of blistering cold, beautiful landscape, Native Americans. Here’s what to do if you get stuck here for more than a few days.
“Welcome.”
Minot is a medium-sized town in North Dakota, the middle of America.
[read: Population: 50-100k ppl. + Size:15-50 square miles. = Population density: 6400ppl/sq. mi.]
It has an international airport, a university, 75 bars, 35 churches, 6 laundromats.
These random facts are important in a *datasheet* I’ll put up soon entitled, “Small Town Game: How to Make The *Most* Out of Your Shitty City.”
Not a whole lot here, definitely "off the beaten path." Visitors usually pass through on their way to other places, because it is a railroad hub.
North Dakota is known for Teddy Roosevelt’s buffalo-hunting escapades. He wrote of the state:
"It was here the great romance of my life began!"
Roosevelt was killing big game and riding horseback with Indians in a lawless land, though.Inspiring, nonetheless.
By the way, there are a bunch of Indian reservations around Minot if you’re interested in Indians. Go to http://www.nd.gov/indianaffairs for more info about Indians in the area.
Check out the Minot Wikitravel page for more detailed info about hotels and places to eat. You like wings? OK, perfect.
Girls:
Blonde, blue eyed girls of Nordic ancestry. Nordic white girls of good stock. Good at sports. Conservative, family oriented. Friendly. Can be aggressive. [Ride motorcycles, big hands, used to doing farm work, surprisingly not lesbians? Midwestern style brashness, and so on].
Moving forward.
Median girls are 7-8. You will find an abundance of 7-8s.
"Wow. Not. Bad."
Let me take a quick drink of water, excuse me.OK. Back.
Those first two are from Backpage. Second two are from Facebook.
Tight bodies, generally fit. Get them while they're young before they get married. 18-22.
Lodging:
Plenty of hotels, standard, $50/night median. No point in getting anything fancy.
If staying longer-term, ask locals for leads, they might know any unlisted houses for rent or a roommate situation, check the local paper and call IRET or IMM, local brokerages.
Daygame spots:
Starbucks on Burdick Expressway: sit around, do work, you’ll get a steady IV drip of prospects walking in.
Minot State University: walk around campus, library, student halls, wellness center, approach people, say you’re using the facilities to work.
Dakota Square Mall: Talk to shop clerks, patrons, etc.
Downtown area: lots of local shops, quirky industrial spaces turned into lofts. Stroll around and see what’s up.
YMCA/ ASK Fitness: Good places to pickup.
Lake Sakakawea: when the weather warms up.
Garage/yard Sales: “Garage/Yard Sailing” is a thing here. They are abundant when the weather warms up and people love them.
Nightgame spots:
“Everything closes at 1am.”
Night game is sketchy. Social groups are cliquey and everyone kind of knows each other some way. Lots of biker bars with guys getting obliterated and wanting to fight and not enough girls to make it worth the trouble.
Most watering holes are bars-slash-casinos.
Come with some cash saved up and gamble the night away with drunk locals. Until 1am. Then go home.
Best to go early, scope it out and leave early or link up with locals and go to a bonfire or something afterwards.
Highlights:
Ebineezer's: Irish pub with good food.
Nola's: Good local scene, divey, pool tables, casino games.
The Original: Live bands, lots of people, can pull some hotties from here.
Sports on Tap: Loud "sports bar," meaning sports is playing in background on mute while 10 year old "Top 100 Hits" play obscenely loud, overtaking all your senses.
Dance floor, college people bros and their female counterparts dressed up getting hammered on 30oz. beers and shots.
“Good luck.”
Buffalo Wild Wings: Great place to pickup. Diverse crowd.Cenex: Cenex is a gas station. In small towns like Minot gas stations that are open late like Jug and Loaf are the late pizza spots of big cities where drunk girls go to get a slice.
Ease of Approaching:
Girls are friendly enough, if they are interested, they will let it be known, if you have game.
Not as sexually open as big cities on the front end, but put some work in and they will open up.
Be sure to isolate.
You can always find a girl by herself, plenty of good looking white girls around. Lots of girls are in relationships/married or about to be married. Relationships are taken seriously. Traditional family values are strong here.
However, if you can telegraph your difference, like you look Spanish or Black, or you are from a better place and play that card right, there is definitely a market for you, because you are exotic. You’re like a gold nugget. I look white but girls’ ears perk up when I speak Spanish.
Guys are white, don’t dress well, bad haircuts, and are corny with no game. Period. But the girls are used to that, they are corny, too. Good for you and me.
Sight seeing:
Not much to see in town. Venture around a bit, there are lakes nearby, plenty of fishing, rolling hills, some canals and a river. Gorgeous in the summer. Brutal in the winter.
"Minot itself is not much to look at but the surrounding landscape is pretty."
For whatever that’s worth.Everything worth doing recreationally is on Wikitravel page or ndtourism.com. I won’t go into it here.
General tip for any unfamiliar location: Ask someone where the action is that cross-sections with your interests: mountain biking, fishing, hunting, and so on. Or what lake people are getting drunk at (Lake Sakakawea). There is a lot of that stuff going on here. Many outdoor activities.
Prices:
Cost of living is low. Cigarettes are $4.50. 6 pack of Rolling Rock is $6.99. Quart of Sobieski vodka is $10.99. 1bedroom apartment is $650. Taxi going three miles is $10.
Logistics:
You'll need a car. If you don't have one, buses run but aren't worth the trouble. If without vehicle, you’re better off walking, biking or taking cabs. Walking/biking will take some time but is doable. Cabs are available.
Have a car.
Pros:
-Hot chicks that are untainted by city hypergamy pressures.
-Beautiful scenery.
-Quiet.
-Friendly.
-Trusting; neighborly.
-Low crime.
-Low unemployment.
-Clean air.
-No riff raff-bums/crazies.
-Laid back, slow pace, easy living.
Cons:
“Fu-f-fu-fufu-faahh-f-faff-fa--freezing in the winter.”
-Boring.
-Small.
-Podunk lack of “culture.”
-Insular.
In summary: If you really like hot white girls, North Dakota is your place. Check out Mixx’s thread. If you like winter, again, this is your spot. It’s boring and in the middle of nowhere. And so on.
"Bye."
