Toulouse, France datasheet

Hello guys,

I have noted in MrRoundthree’s thread on living in France that some of you are interested in the city of Toulouse. I have lived there for one year so I decided to create a datasheet.

I want to mention that I was quite clueless with girls while I lived there. In fact, it is while living there that I discovered Roosh and the red pill. Even though I had very little success in this city, I still think that my observations are valuable to you players.

The girls
It is often said that the Toulousaines are the best girls in France. You will find quite a lot of slim, fit girls here. Most of them are white with mixed white/Arab girls coming in second. It is a student town so there is a large selection of young girls from all over France, but also a substantial amount of Spanish and Brazilian pussy.

(Night)Game looks and attitude
This is rugby country and there is no space for skinny guys. The girls have a clear preference for muscular, tanned guys. Don’t be clean-shaven, pale and skinny or you will not get a second (or even a first) look. And don’t dress preppy or hipster-like. Do work out, grow a couple of days of stubble and put on a tight t-shirt or shirt that shows you masculine build. Complement with jeans, a leather jacket and maybe a stylish scarf. The average guy here measures around 5’10”. If you are 6’ or taller, you will stand out in a good way.

I think that the French guys are better players than most other Europeans. They are arrogant and they are not afraid to approach. If you see a target and you hesitate, probably some other guy will be grinding against her in a couple of minutes. Approach aggressively on the dance floor: physical contact first, small talk afterwards. Go for the same night bang because girls will flake. Her girlfriends will try to cockblock you. Girls here were not really impressed with my status as a foreigner, although I’m European as well and it could be different if you are not.

Do not expect the girls to speak English. Although English is learnt in school, most of the French are really bad at it. Even when the girl knows some English, she will probably be too embarrassed to use it. Spanish might get you somewhere, quite a lot of people speak basic Spanish. But obviously French is best, the girls will love it when you speak French with a foreign accent.

Nightgame venues
All of the bars and clubs on this list are typical places frequented by college students. Most girls in here will be 18-23 years old, people will be drinking heavily, drinks will be cheap and of poor quality and you will probably get some alcohol spilled on your clothes. If you are looking for a classier place with a dress code or quality spirits or cocktails, I cannot help you. Also, if I remember correctly, all bars close at 1 am on weekdays and at 2 am on Friday and Saturday.

Café Populaire
The only hipster place on the list. Cheap drinks, loud rock music, always very crowded. On Monday nights all of the drinks are half price. It is extremely easy to make contact with people in this place, everybody seems to be open to meet new people. If you have good social skills, you will do very well here. Lots of people are smoking outside and it’s very easy to make contact with them. Make sure you don’t need to shit here, the toilet is terrible and there is always a queue.

Chez Tonton
Classic rugby bar. Not a lot of hipsters here but rather guys showing their muscles. Extremely crowded. Be well built and be aggressive. Starts playing French chansons after midnight, which is the signal for all the French to start dancing on the benches and tables. Very drunk people (and drunk girls).

La couleur de la culotte
Next to “Chez Tonton” and a bit classier. The bar for the snobbish college girls. Look good and have decent verbal game. The name translates to “the color of the panties” – I’m sure you players can use this to inject some sexual talk into the conversation or as a very cocky opener.

Le Saint des seins
Yes, this bar is called “the saint of tits”. The bar has a bit of a split personality, it tries to be a mix between a rock bar (live music from time to time) and a hip design bar and it fails at both. Also on Place St Pierre, just like Tonton and la culotte. Girls here are less drunk than at Tonton and less good looking than la culotte. This bar has bigger and cleaner toilets than the other places so it’s a good place to take a dump. When all the bars close at 1 or 2 am, the square can be a gold mine full of drunk and horny girls.

De Danu
Typical Irish sports bar. Good for watching sports with your friends, not for pulling. The exception to the rule is of course St Patricks day, then you want to be here.

El borriquito loco
A popular place for stag and hen parties. As a result, lots of drunk girls but also lots of cockblocking. This place serves food and the tables severely limit the movement space you have. Drinks and food are of very poor quality.

Trader’s Pub
The drink prices fluctuate according to the demand. However, they always remain sky high for poor quality drinks.

Studio One
Big night club which is a 15-20 minute walk from the center. Nothing special on regular nights, but a fantastic place on student nights (maybe once a month, typically on Wednesdays). Expect a lot of young, horny, scantily clad girls.

Shangai
A gay club that used to be THE party place in the city center. The entrance was free and the club was open till 8 or 10 am so everybody came here when the bars closed. It was a fantastic place to pull until they introduced a cover charge. Now the place is always half empty and 90% filled with gays. Only reason to go here is if you’re on a date and you want to grind you crotch against your girl on Nicki Minaj and David Guetta music. No risk that another guy tries to steal your girl here.

What to drink
The French beer is shitty, wine and decent spirits are not served in the mentioned places. Stick to pastis; it’s refreshing, it’s a manly drink here and you can dilute it as much as you want.

Conclusion
I recommend Café Populaire, Chez Tonton, La couleur de la culotte and Studio One on student nights. And drink pastis.

Daygame Venues

The borders of the Garonne
When the weather is nice, the border of the Garonne between Place St-Pierre and la Daurade is the pre-drink place of choice. Starting in the afternoon (from approximately) 16h, groups of young people will arrive to drink, smoke and play the guitar. Expect a lot of hipsters that want to show of their non-existent guitar skills. If you cannot work a group, you will face an uphill battle here since nearly all girls will arrive as part of a (mixed) group. Don’t forget to bring alcohol. Bonus points if you bring weed (called shit here); it’s a lot harder to find here than in the Netherlands or Belgium but it definitely wets the hipster girls’ pussies.

Around Rue Alsace Lorraine
This is the main shopping street. All year round you will find lots of girls, either solo or accompanied by a girlfriend or two, on this street and the smaller surrounding streets.

Food
I will just list a couple of places that I enjoyed and that offer a very good price/quality ratio.

Le ver luissant
Classical French cuisine of decent quality for a very affordable price. Expect to pay 25-35 euros for a starter, main dish and dessert. Has a good selection of Belgian and other international beers, although they are expensive at around 6 to 8 euros each.

Sushi house
Best sushi in the city, only around 5 kinds of fish available but everything is extremely fresh and well prepared. 20 euros for around 10 pieces of sushi and some maki, 25 for a sashimi plate. Get the sashimi plate for two at 45 euros if you don’t go alone. Not comparable to top level sushi restaurants but great quality and quantity for the price paid.

La braisière
THE place in town to eat meat. All the meat is roasted on the big wood-fire in the middle of the restaurant. I recommend the duck with Roquefort sauce. Their chocolate mousse is excellent as well.

Housing
Since Toulouse is an extremely popular student town, it is very hard to find an unoccupied small flat or studio. If you plan to stay for a long time, the best time to start looking for an apartment is end of April/beginning of May. By then the landlords already know which students will move out. In the beginning of June the French students that finish high school know where they’ll study next year and all the available flats and studios are of the market in record time. Probably the landlord will want you to sign a one year contract and you will have to find another occupant if you want to leave earlier; this should not be a big problem if you’ve picked your flat properly (i.e. it is in a central location and in a decent state). Whatever you do, choose a property in the inner city. Capitole, Saint-Georges, Saint-Aubin, Carmes, Saint-Etienne and Arnaud Bernard are the only neighborhoods you should be looking at.

I tried to find some roommates here, but I only got answers from older men and older women.

When to visit
Toulouse is a university town and you absolutely want to go during the academic year. This academic year typically starts end of September/beginning of October and ends in the beginning of June. All students will go home during summer, for Christmas and Easter Holidays (two weeks each) and for the holiday weeks around All Saints and in the beginning of February (one week each).

The very best period to go is from half of September to half of October. Students will arrive after three months of living with their parents, the weather is still great and exams are a distant thought. The girls will only care about partying, getting drunk and getting fucked. The second best period is March and April. The weather gets better, the skirts and dresses get shorter and skimpier and the libidos get higher. November to February is too cold and dark. May has too many exams.

Accurate description of Toulouse, its really a rugby city. I have 4 Quebec friends who did an exchange there and they loved it..its not as cold as Lille which is why I would probably place Toulouse as the top student city in France even if Grenoble suited me more for the skiing. Lille is perfect for someone who likes partying and traveling, but I wasn't a fan of the weather there and that's from someone coming from Montreal.

And girls are less conservatives than in Lille, you will find more blondes in Lille, maybe more beautiful tall blondes but I like the petites girls from the south more and I think Toulouse has plenty of them. According to most people in France all the girls that come from south of Lyon are easier than those who live in the north.

Also, Toulouse is very close to the Pyrénées for someone who likes ski and hiking it is really at an ideal location and the Aveyron has some of the best villages and food in France.

Great post PhDre!
Toulouse is really a little gem. Weather is great, even in winter, it's still warm compared to Canada and most of Northern US. Another great advantage of Toulouse is the proximity to wonderful and scenic small towns and villages in any directions where people are extremely friendly, the food to die for and the wine, sublime. You have a very strategic location: world class skiing about an hour drive south, Perpignan on the the Mediterranean coast about 2 hours drive to the east and the Basque Coast with world class surfing in Biarritz about 3-4 hours drive to the west. Not to mention Barcelona is a very scenic 5-6 hour drive or a short train ride or an even shorter flight.

To really get integrated within a cool group of local guys and rapidly build a cool social network, if you stay there for any length of time, join a rugby club. It's one of if not THE most masculine team sport there is, plus their infamous 3eme mi temps (3rd quarters literally or after the game parties) are notorious and something to be experienced and seen to believe. No words can describe them. Very masculine environment, very red pill and tons of hot girls gravitating around it. These rugby guys know how to party!

Spot on on drinking pastis! That thing is what vodka is to Russia or aguardiente to Colombia! A must!

Speaking of accents, I LOVE the accent of the south of France! If you want to truly blow a French girls' mind away as a foreigner, try to imitate l'accent du sud (the southern accent)! [Image: wink.gif]

Toulouse is a true little gem. One of the only places in all of Europe I would consider to settle down and raise a family is in the deep south-south west of France. I really miss that region!

I spent a few years in Toulouse. This datasheet seems pretty accurate.

I just need to add that from my experience (and this goes for the rest of France also), here if a girl is somehow cute and has an IQ of more than 80, there is a 90-99% chance she has a guy (or several) and won't date or f*ck someone else because she wants to feel like she is in control. Just saying.

Girls who are 8+ in looks, intelligent and have good personalities are rarely single anywhere in the world - they're a catch. They've usually got at least one fuckbuddy going at all times, if they so desire. Plus numerous guys friendzoned, waiting in the wings for any chance at the price. I haven't been for years but from what I remember Toulose wasn't anywhere different in this respect to most places.

You've just got to be of high enough value (looks, money, body, personality wise - any combination) to make it worth her while to date you exclusively.

Nice data sheet, +1 for me, it brings back fond memories of the place, I moved to the area back in 99' when I was sixteen and it was one of the best years of my life. I lived outside of the city in a place called Castelnau d'Estretefonds, a typical small French town, kind of boring but the host family I lived with had dirt bikes so I burned around on those a lot. The family was pretty cool but very, very French and they didn't like people from other Euro countries (Spaniards are all macho, Belgians are all Pedophiles, English are "Coincé" and Germans are Nazis!), they didn't really care much for Parisians or the folks from Marseille. I studied at Lycee Toulouse Lautrec and at first the French kids were cunts and wouldn't hang out with me so I hung out with Africans which was all god because the Moroccan kids had the best hash so we just got stoned all day in between classes. Once my French improved the other kids were cool with me, at first I hated France, typical culture shock but after a few months I really liked the place, I should probably go back some day. I also played hockey there for Les Belougas de Toulouse Blagnac, that was hilarious, our first game we beat the opposing team something like 25-0, I was body checking the shit out of those frogs, most of the teams in the south sucked but the teams from the north and Alps were half decent.

Spent a lot of time in the city centre: Place du Capitol, Place Wilson and of course near the Pont Neuf smoking hash and drinking lots of beer. Be careful of the young Arab dudes there, I got in some fights with those dickheads and was ripped off more than once, always while trying to buy hash, of course. The city is very nice with all of the red brick and the big Garonne river, some very nice architecture, apparently "la Ville Rose" has a lot of queers in it though. Things have probably changed in the fifteen years since I lived there but I don't remember French guys being all that big, sure the rugby dudes were but the average guy in Toulouse didn't strike me as being big, much less so than in Canadian cities anyway.

The city also has some really good street art, while I was there this female artist was covering the city with Miss Van girls, they were nice, did you guys see any of those? http://www.missvan.com/

Completely agree, the region is fantastic. The weather, the food, the cultural heritage, the proximity of the sea and the mountains. Also, I had the impression that men here are still more masculine than in other parts of Western Europe and that this masculinity is valued by the women. If France would not be such a socialist country with high taxes and terrible bureaucracy, I would probably settle down in Toulouse.

No the average French guy is not big at all. But the rugby players are and they definitely get a lot of attention from the girls.

I would add El Dorado as another night game venue. It's a latino pub with lots of French and South Americans. I have been in Toulouse for 3 weeks and arrived at the right time during the peak of Euro 2016. But now, there are only the young and the old ones in the street. Its a student city as told above and girls here are quite friendly but not necessarily DTF.

I got a couple of number closes that flaked, and a yes girl who was interested in me but I ended screwing it up as I failed to escalate physically.

Nevertheless, Toulouse is a city which I would love to live in for a long time

Toulouse was the city where I got my crash course in game. It was a tough awakening. After several months of hard grind, I finally picked up some girl in the park on my last day. Banged her even though she had a boyfriend.

Reading this data sheet makes me nostalgic. France is a great place.

Quick update and impression after 2 days here:

First time in a 2nd tier French city/in the south, I absolutely LOVE Toulouse.

Girls: Top quality, to be honest, having lived in Budapest for 3 months, I didn't notice a significant quality drop from Budapest(I could be biased towards Frenchies). Girls here are petite, but still got tits and ass, mostly brunettes, some dirty blondes. I appreciate girls who have style so those girls just do it for me.

I'm 5'8/5'9 and 75kg, I find myself bigger than at least 1/3, or even half of the guys here, which never happened to me before anywhere else in Europe. Guys are pretty beta and friendly. The guys who approach are usually immigrants.

Tinder is not great. But I had a sweet date with this French girl off tinder, which is gonna be in the back up of head for a long time.

My french is pretty good, I could open girls in French with no problem. And you will need French for sure, girls don't speak French at night at all.

Did a few sets yesterday during the day, girls are friendly but didn't get too much out of it. Because it's a univeristy city, you see hot chicks walking together. It's kinda hard to open a group of hot chicks but i will try today. Let me know if you have any insights with opening girls during the day in French in smaller cities. I usually compliment them(shoes/bags or just say je trouve que t'es adorabel).

Nightgame: Harder than I thought. The setup of the venues here is a lot different from Budapest. All the bars close at 2am and people are always in big groups.
I would be chatting 2 girls and suddenly 3 guys would come up. I don't mind it and if the girls are attracted to you, you will be fine.

Cafe populaire was not my scene.

Chez tonton got the most girls. But it's mostly university crows and it gets really rowdy. Still, it's got potential and i will go back there tonight.

La couleur de la culotte: Definitely more classy. The ratio was really bad when I was there. But would go back again

Le Saint des seins: I don't know what to say about this one. Chez tonton/La couleur de la culotte > Le Saint des seins

El dorado: too small and the crowd is too old for my liking.

Shanghai: I heard nightclubs here generally suck. Last night, got there around 2.30 and the line was moving so slow. In the queue, it was like 80:20 guys ratio. Didn't make it inside, probably would not recommend.

Opium: Haven't been there yet. Is it worth it? It'a pretty far from place st pierre and i live next to place st pierre.

Overall, Toulouse is a hidden gem. Don't come here if you don't speak French. I'm pretty excited about next semester in Montpellier. Girls told me, its the same vibe but people party harder over there.

I've been to quite a few cities in Germany so I know what girls are like over there, and the girls in your thread are good representative of hot german girls.

However, in France, Depending on where you go, the girls look all different. I would imagine the French girls in your nearby city probably look more like the germans than the girls here in the south.

Girls in Toulouse are like 160-165 on average. They wear the same shoes(adidas stan smith), the same cropped jeans. And I have met girls from Lille, Paris and normandy. They are a lot taller. Personally I prefer the girls from the south over those from the north.

Since you live so close to the border, I would suggest you go check it out. I'm sure some of the girls there speak German and also, you can always learn a couple French phrases to open them and then switch to English.

As a french, yes Toulouse and Montpellier are great choices. As for the latter, if you got game, you will be fine. It is packed with students, the beach and south vibe is great and probably less attitude than in Paris. Still, any cute french girl will have some degree of attitude, be sure of that. Still, don't expect wild crazy parties like in the states, remember than in France (dictated by Paris), the cool persons are not the crazy on the dancefloor, but the cool guy sipping calmly his drink, witty and smooth...

Yep, definitely experienced the attitude issue last couple of days, especially at night. The responses I got from night game haven't been great at all. I don't think it's because none of them is attracted to me. It has more to do with their weird group dynamics.

There are quite a few french RVFers out about in EE, chasing pussy. So there is gotta be something wrong with French girls.

For me personally, frenchies are nowhere near the russians in terms of looks but they just do it for me somehow. So looks is not a problem for me.

Is it the attitude? I mean, only french girls roll with big groups where there are a lot of guys. Either they friendzone every guy or there is something wrong with the girls? I'm still learning about the frenchies and I will mostly likely have a lot of interactions with them next year. Can any French forum member break it down real quick for me?

A lot of french guys are extremely beta but still approach (especially drunk) anyway resulting in the girl thinking she has tremendous choices, so french girls seems to have a higher value. Put them in Finland for example where guys are more shy and approach way less and I'm sure she would drop some of her attitude. So in general, even if she looks average, expect the expectations (and shit tests) of an above-average girl. Even some whale have expectations in France, what a mess...
They roll with a lot of guys because 1st streets are not safe for a girl at night (even sometime the day) and 2nd because they really are thirsty for attention/validation so it amuses them to have these friendzoned guys around (even though she will tell you it annoys her that he is constantly trying. Then why are you having him around then?...)

Make men great again!

No SNL for me in Toulouse.

Some guy manage of course to get SNL from nightclub or internet dating.

For me, Toulouse was good to meet 2 types of girl:
- French student girl from a little town. She doesn’t have bitchy attitude because it’s her first time in a big city.
- Fresh off the boat Asian/African/Latina student girl who wants to meet new people.

I'm visiting Toulouse in a few days and have to say that French women are the weirdest I ever met and banged.

1. Girl from Paris. I called her whore and bitch on Tinder, unmatched her and matched her again after resetting. Well, she asked me if she could come and stay over(!). She came, banged within 30 minutes twice and left, because I was not serious!

2.Girl from South France. She wanted to try Tinder and invited me to her South London studio. She waited dressed to fuck, banged her all night and never saw her again, because she did not understand what my job was (!) or something else?

I have more weird stories with French women, so I'm really wondering what kind of game should I run into a 2nd tier French city? My big city game was gold in Barcelona with locals and tourists.

Last night, I dated in my area a French chick from Bretagne and experienced first hand the French arrogance. We chatted for 3 minutes and she literally came straight to my area after a bad date! Very hot girl, but mentally fucked up. It was good training though.

Any advice from French women experts would be highly appreciated. [Image: smile.gif]

Toulouse update May 2017

I 've been there for three days to meet some friends that tour South France. The city is amazing and probably one of the best 2nd tier cities I ever visited.

In terms of gaming, any city with less than 1-2 million people should be avoided like the plague. The only exception I can think of is Barcelona. Provincial and herd mentality, people go out in big groups, inexistent eye contact and especially Toulouse girls look very cold and bored even when they talk to each other or walk the beautiful streets. Some IOI's only on Saturday night.

Internet game? Forget it, complete waste of time.

I had only one day (Thursday) to check out the OP's bar list, as my friends arrived the next day. I left my AirBnB around midnight, as it was raining all day. All these places are for U25 or U22 and I would not recommend to anyone over 30 hit these bars. You will see big groups of uni friends or locals that know each other.

Quality of girls: I would say that the best thing about French women is their style. The style compensates for the lack of special physical features. I did not see any great asses or tits. I saw many girls with short legs.

Café Populaire: Here one chick approached me and told me how much she likes London. Then, she told me that she does not have a boyfriend, because she wants to finish her studies and move to London. I did not even have any motivation to game anyone, after a month of debauchery in Barcelona and London. I had two drinks and left.

Chez Tonton: Tha place looks horrible, as there is too much light and students dance on the tables. Terrible.

La couleur de la culotte: Had a drink here. The usual scenery with big groups of girls and boys sitting at the tables and maybe one or two girls dance.

There are some new clubs that are not included in the OP's list and might have potential, but I didn't do any clubbing. Just google 'clubs in Toulouse' and you will find them.

I spent the rest of my time with friends in restaurants and quiet bars or walking around the beautiful streets of Toulouse. DON'T go to Toulouse to game, even if you speak perfect French. Go with a girl or friends for 2-3 days maximum depending where you come from.

^That's the Pont Neuf bridge over the Garonne river, I used to go there on weekends and smoke hash, it was a pretty popular place to hang out, likely still is.
