I take kratom three days a week. I've experimented using more but feel "off" on days I don't when I use more then 3 days a week. If you keep use to three days a week with a day off between days you'll avoid the negative side effects and dependency for the most part. I use it for work as it makes working at a call center much easier. I also use it socially as an alcohol replacement at times. I use about 6 grams a day when I use, split in 3 2g doses throughout the day.
That's exactly the way I use it too. Never got any problems. If you use it too often, the effects go down after a while, so you need days off.
I only got a serious headache when I once emptied the bottom of my pack just to finish it. I though that would be 10 g in there, actually it was probaly more like 20 or 30g so it was like a alcohol hangover...

Dangers of Kratom

Thought I would chime in on this. I have used Kratom daily for over a year without a single health issue and it has been a blessing for lower back/rib cage pain and has seemingly lowered my blood pressure by a lot (no lifestyle changes). The only "problem" I have noticed is that it takes longer to orgasm.
That being said, yes you can get addicted to it. If you are a daily user like me, all you have to do is taper your dosage down SLOWLY and you won't feel much at all. I recommend buying a scale to do so. A lot of the people who you read about cursing kratom are the ones who take it daily for months on end and then stop suddenly and expect everything to be okay. Common sense tells you that anything that gives you "drug like effects" will have a negative impact on your life upon complete cessation.
There is some really shitty quality kratom going around these days so it is wise to look research a vendor heavily before purchasing. Not a lot of people have the will power to taper drugs but in my particular case after a heavy run and successful taper with kratom, it does not compare withdrawal wise to harder drugs such as oxy/hydro/etc. It works like a charm for any kind of pain and IMO is fairly safe even though there haven't been many studies done. I had a 1st class medical done a few weeks back along with blood work check and nothing has come back out of the norm. But like they say, YMMV... just thought I would write up about my experience.
