Strong & Fat or Weak & Ripped

I'd consider going for a six pack if I wasn't so fucking hairy.

Thing is not all six packs are created equal. Here's a concentration camp 6-pack:

[Image: tumblr_lbyiy8cdrc1qc61d2o1_500_thumb.jpg]

This looks better:

Also I feel that homosexuals have co-opted the six pack and made it more... metrosexual. They're always showing theirs off. If you get one, have some bulk behind it.

I agree. Although both abs still look great to me....

This. Having chest or stomach hair kinda swings things the other direction. Bearmode seems to work better with slight definition but more bulk.

it sounds metro+ but if you have the body you have to do what it takes to show it off. My body is one of my strongest assets and I'm indian so do the math, I'm waxing every 3 weeks just to be tight and that shit hurts, they say you get used to it, but bullshit, it fuckin hurts lol. Just the show muscles area, the legs, and my junk I'll trim but there's no getting rid of that, you go that far and there's no coming back lol

Gear is the solution, and really should be essential to true players in their 30s. This is especially true as it is quite legal in much of the world where said players travel. Ignore the mass media lies. If you use it in moderation, especially to stay cut and reasonably strong, it is very safe and works great. If you want to grow far beyond your natural max, you'll have problems. It also reduces the effects of aging, and generally will allow you to have better workouts.
Heavy regulation of male hormones is one of the greatest examples of insane feminism ever, especially since practically every woman takes female hormones, to the extent our water is polluted with the stuff.

Outside of the cardiac stress of excessive body mass (BMI refers to MASS not fat), the stuff is no more or less dangerous than any woman taking birth control. Like birth control, the effects on your reproductive system are temporary except in very rare cases with high doses. Early birth control had much higher doses, and occasional female sterility was not unheard of. Male birth control has been avoided because there is no way to make it without the anabolic properties, which requires the cycling, post cycle therapy, anti-estrogens, etc.

If you're lucky in the genetics aspect you can have both. It's always been easy for me to have abs. Even if I don't train them they're ripped all year round. I just need to shave some hair off before I go to the beach [Image: smile.gif]

Having said that, as a naturally lean guy I feel that squats and deadlifts help me gain the mass that allows me to have the best of both worlds. Sure sometimes you'll meet people who're stronger than you, but you'd destroy them in speed or endurance. As someone said earlier, play to your strengths and focus on a better you.

I'm the kind of guy who puts on fat and muscle really fast and doesn't lose either very easily.

I'm going to be doing muay thai about 4 hours a day while living at a muay thai camp in Bangkok. I'm planning on doing the Paleo Diet.

I'm worried I might gas out really fast because of the lack of starchy carbs.

I'm doing this for both sport and physique, as I've gotten a bit soft in the last 6 weeks while partying my way through Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Bangkok. I'd imagine that following a straight up bodybuilding routine and diet would probably build a better physique but I've been waiting to get back to a muay thai camp for a while.

Anyone try paleo before? What were your results like?

Paleo is basically just protein, veggies, and fruits right?

To me it seems like a lot of hype. Eating lean meat, fruits, and veggies = eating healthy. The whole "paleo" idea seems like someone realized that this is kinda what cavemen would've eaten and that it makes for a great marketing plan.

I try to minimize starch, and especially white starch (rice, potatoes, flour) and what I end up eating is the paleo diet without trying.

To reference another thread in a seperate sub-forum, that guy is feckin' insane and I reckon about as damn a perfect body a man can get. I doubt ANY woman would complain.

Of course, some girls like skinny guys, some girls like muscle. A lot of girls like to experiment, which is why we're here [Image: biggrin.gif]

Those videos have me doing a full routine of body weight exercises now, I put down the weights entirely (Though I'm gonna put deadlifting back into my rotation)

The new workout kicks my ass just as hard, if not harder, then when I was loading big iron on the bar all the time. That kind of strength seems a lot more functional to me too, vs just being enormous and able to bench press a small car.

I work out fasted and on the paleo diet. I feel better than I did previously (true hunger is a fantastic feeling -- its like crack to me).

Regarding energy levels, you should be fine once your body has adapted to using ketones over carbohydrates as an energy source, but you must make sure you are eating your fat. Fat and protein should be plentiful in your diet.

The only time I recommend adding paleo carbs (mass amounts of fruit and starches for instance) is when the person is doing continuous exercise of moderate intensity for a long period of time. If you plan on doing Muay Thai for 4 hours straight a day, you may need to add some carbs. (Reason being is that the body has two primary energy systems, a "slow burning fat" system and a "high intensity burst ATP" system. moderate-intensity activity for a long period of time doesn't fit in either of these so added carbs are almost a necessity. Read http://www.marksdailyapple.com/case-against-cardio/ for more).

Experiment with it. Remember that you will still be eating carbohydrates (vegetables and fruits contain them as well as nuts) so it's not like you're going for a net 0 carbs.

As far as abs go, I've never once worked my abs in my life. I do full body exercises and the core of the body has to keep up with the rest of it. Right now I'm on the chub side as I'm bulking, but if I cut for a bit I'd have some solid abs.

Full body workouts > all. Go do squats.

Thanks Docter - I've been eating tons of bananas and pineapples for the last couple of days and so far no energy problems.

L-Carnitine has given me a significant energy boost, although I"m sort of wondering if it's all been placebo effect.

I hear L-Carnitine is legit for fat burning.

Strong & Fat or Weak & Ripped

Funny thing is that recently I lost weight and although I'm looking more fragile(I'm 5'7 - 1,70m) , I'm getting more IOIsmakeouts from upper-class , educated chicks , while losing effectiveness on regular club game (sluts).
Can't have the best of both worlds, I more into EU-looking skinner chicks so I'll keep the slim look for now . But it sucks to feel weaker and plateauing at the gym (I'm on stronglifts).

A Tall ectomorph guy may have a look that covers both (strong & slim) but for shorter folks like me it seems that you either get too bulky ( what drives off model looking types) or the weak ripped "fomosexual" look. Damn

Any other guys have this dilemma?

shoulder to waist ratio of 1.6 is where it's at....scientific studies have shown that women looking for short term flings or one night stands seek out men with this ratio.

I don't have the genetics for abs. My build is like Fedor's. Even when I was fat, I was still extremely explosive.

My current body has gotten me plenty of women. If you have a narrow waist and broad shoulders, you don't need abs.

I'd prefer abs, but if you can't get 'em, just make sure your shoulders and back are really broad. It's the taper from upper body to waist that turns women on most.

Btw guys, has anyone found an effective way to improve thickness and definition on their forearms&wrists as that is one of the most visible bodyparts. No matter how many wrist curls or hammer presses I do I still can't gain much mass in my forearms. Thanks.

The best way to build forearms is simply as a consequence of lifting heavy on one arm rows, pullups, deads, shrugs etc. Isolation exercises for forearms work up to a point. The thing is you can do little for your wrists in terms of bulking as there is not that much muscle that far down your arm. Same with your ankles. Lift heavy with compounds and your whole body will grow.

on another board I frequent, the women there did a poll and "built fat" come back as the most desirable.

Lizards are liars. Look at what works. Actions never lie. A strong ripped frame similar to that 'genetic mutant' that everyone was tripping out over on the other thread will secure you maximum gash with minimum put out (generally speaking).
