Advice needed on executing dubious Canadian will from UK

Hopefully someone on the forum could help out here.

A friend of mine has just told me a relative of his has passed away in the Toronto area.

My friend & his 2 Brothers were named as the executors on the Will.

The Lawyer who is/was dealing with it has now contacted them to say there is now a second will that has appeared & he is now passing it on to another Lawyer to deal with it.

In the background to the story, the old guy who passed, had moved to Canada many years ago. Set himself up with work, had a bought house, etc. Sometime over the last 10years or so, some good Samaritan!! female had befriended him. There now seems to be a shit-load of debt tied into the property & the befriender female has a Daughter (who's at Law School!!) who is also claiming to be a dependant!

Property is a stand alone house with land around it, probably needing work done to it, but still valued in the region of maybe 4/5 hundred thousand dollars, I'd think.

Anyhow I smell a rat.

My friend has seen a Lawyer here in the UK but was advised! that it was an extremely difficult case and they couldn't give an estimate of costs involved.

So putting it out to you RVF'rs out there who either have experience, or know someone who has experience in this field.

Would hate for my friend & his family to be taken advantage of in this way by what seems to me to be some obvious Gold-Digger bitch & her spoilt fuck-wit daughter.

Thanking you in advance Guy's

Not a lawyer but when you've got a law student trying to weasel their way in, and competing Wills, it sounds like there'll be a lot of up front expenses to try to tease out which is the real will.

Even ( wild speculation) if it's a blatant forgery, and the girlfriend scribbled his signature which is obviously false, think about the time involved. but half a million is a lot of money, if he isn't working and has a lot of time can he move there to work it out?

One lawyer already told you it's a cluster fuck. Maybe the guy really wanted to leave the place to her. Who knows.
