Indian people get some of the worst racism in America. This is because unlike the Black and Latino populations, there is no "Indian lobby". It is therefore okay to be racist to them, and there is no big uproar. It is okay to fire an Indian man. There is no affirmative action for us. In fact there is negative affirmative action because there are too many capable Indians around. Even East asians to an extent do not have a lobby, but atleast they have been around here for enough generations that they have integrated well enough into the population, and know how American society works.. Plus they do not have to suffer being mistaken for "Arab terrorists".

It is unfortunate that you see more Indian feminists coming out because of this [like Anil Dash, Tikko, or whomever we have discussed on this forum], but the point is that racism is real.
As I have been continuing my education in science I have noticed that as it relates to Biology (medical, process biology, organic chemistry, ect.) people of middle eastern and indian decent are well represented in America. It is odd that post 9/11 everybody looks at middle eastern people as a threat to their safety, when in reality the only threat middle eastern people post is to your admission in graduate science programs. I would estimate 50% of my classmates are of indian or middle eastern decsent, and they do so well that the instructors typically exclude their scores when curving our test scores. Even the women do not play around when it comes to the sciences. I find it odd that anyone would feel threatened by an elderly indian man simply walking on a sidewalk and feel compelled to call the police, and even odder that the officer felt the need to pummel him. Just my observation..

I've worked with a lot of really good cops and my reaction to any claim of "excessive force" is what did the idiot do to earn it. That said this sounds like the cop was completely in the wrong he should be fired and imprisoned.

I think cops in general are out to do good. And you don't hear much about them. You always hear about the bad ones. However, the bad ones need to be punished to the max of the law because in theory they wanted to be cops to uphold the law. So a police officer breaking the law is worse than the average citizen breaking the same law.

Absolutely agree for the most part. My one exception to it is the extrajudicial justice that some cops in the hood hand out. The average banger in the hood understands violence and little else. I have absolutely no problem with police speaking to them in a language they understand.

Mistrial declared in case of Alabama officer who slammed Indian grandfather to the ground

Quote:Quote:

A deadlocked jury failed to reach a decision in the federal trial of an Alabama police officer who took down an Indian grandfather, leaving him partially paralyzed.

U.S. District Judge Madeline Hughes Haikala declared a mistrial after the 12-person jury told her four separate times they couldn’t reach an unanimous decision as to whether former Madison police officer Eric Parker should be convicted, AL.com reported.

“The government will retry the case,” the U.S. attorney’s office in the Northern District of Alabama said in a statement. “We look forward to having another jury hear the evidence.”

Asshole Cops..

Once they realize that the guys ENGLISH is not clear and he said INDIA.. All the other communication was useless.. Are these cops morons?

How is he going to understand? He was a skinny old grandpa.. WTF is wrong with these cops - If he doesnt speak clear english.. how the hell is he going to tell you where he lives.. "do not jerk away from me" "keeps tryin to walk away from me" ... "i dont know what his problem is but he wont listen"...

Morons.. Skinny old dude.. All they had to do was showed him a HOME / HOUSE symbol.. with hands ask where he lives.. and WALKED with him there..

He physically was not a threat at all..

How many bloody times would they keep asking and then repeating amongst themselves that he's not a "native english" speaker

The point of modern propaganda isn't only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking, to annihilate truth.
