Cid's Jakarta Datasheet

I just finished my 5th work trip to Jakarta and have some thoughts I'd like to add on top of the numerous other datasheets that exist already. In short, I think that Jakarta is going downhill fast, and has already lost its luster from a visit in December.

Stats: 5 girls in 7 days. 3 from social-circle, one from online, one from night game.

Logistics:
This is the big one for me. The main date places that girls will be comfortable with are Mega Kuningan (Loewy/Oakwood) and Grand Indonesia/Plaza Indonesia. My office is in Sudirman so I generally try to stay near there (Oakwood), but on this trip I stayed at the Kempinski Residences which made it a lot easier to coordinate easy dates. Another option is Kemang, but this is a difficult place for many girls to get to, and they will surely prefer meeting somewhere in Central Jakarta.

Another point is that if possible, try to avoid the Thamrin City/Thamrin Residences. These aren't as upscale as what most expats stay at, and girls will more-or-less assume you have an average job (not that this matters, but it will with high-end girls). I would recommend Oakwood, Kempinski Residences, Ascott - something a little bit more high-end, especially if you plan on not banging 4's off Tinder.

Online Game: This is the one that concerns me, as most of the other datasheets rave about how easy it is to get laid off of Tinder in Jakarta. It is easy - think NYC in 2013 easy. That being said, the quality sucks. These girls are the 0's to maybe 6's of Indonesia, and they are not worth your time. I think some of us never experienced that glorious 2013 when we could actually hook up with real 7's and 8's off of Tinder without much effort.

Another point I must make is that it actually has gotten more difficult on Tinder since last November (1st visit). It's still easy, but if you're not good-looking then no girl above a 5 will give you her time.

My notch on this trip from online game came from Skout. I never use that app, but I opened it up and realized that I had 200 messages from girls here. I picked the hottest one, she game to my place, said OMG you look much better in person, asked me if I wanted a massage, and the rest is history.

Daygame: I work so I didn't really do much daygaming, but it would be easy enough. Girls will be interested in you if you don't give off too much of a player vibe. You can also give off a player vibe and get attention if you have good looks. I'd recommend GI for this since it's huge and all the bored unemployed girls will be there all day long. Other malls will work too, but Plaza Indonesia will be more difficult than GI.

Nightgame: It's been mentioned before - it's easy, but rather expensive. Don't go to Immigrant - it's all bottle service and old girls. I like Dragonfly and Blowfish. X2 for some reason is everyone's favorite on here, but no upper-tier Indo girl will go there for some reason. I went out with my social-circle to Cloud and Skye which are nice but terrible for meeting girls. You will most likely find yourself surrounded by a cloud of 0-6's in clubs - if you want to do better then I think it would be best to make some local friends or flirt with the Garuda FA's on your flight to CGK.

Status: This is all girls care about. They want the white dick, but they want the white dick from an important guy (unless they are useless sluts from Bandung). There are a lot more good-looking guys in Jakarta now thanks to the shitty European economy. There are tons of useless Spaniards running away from their country to work as chefs and models here making 10$/hour. Now there are Germans here too, and French, and Italians - all over the place. Working as bartenders, at hotels, at coffee shops, and so on. Most of them have shit jobs, but are in their 20's and have looks. It's no longer possible to just show up and be the best-looking guy. You'll need to have some kind of social status, or just lie and create it. Having a real job in Jakarta helped me meet some much hotter girls and it will most likely do the same for you. Seriously, last time I was here I was easily the best looking guy in Skye, and this past time there were guys with looks each time I was there. Times are changing.

Conclusion: Indonesian girls aren't Thai girls. They aren't Chinese/Taiwanese girls. I don't like short girls with dark skin, so I don't get especially excited to see the girls here. They are less attractive than Thai girls, but much easier (probably due to lack of exposure, this will surely change). I wouldn't recommend coming to Jakarta just for the girls. It's boring and the quality just isn't worth it. Old uglies aren't accepted as well here, so if you're of that variety I would just go to the Philippines. I'm off to BKK soon so I will try to see if there is any significant difference in difficulty to add.

Oh, and if you are the 30-year-old Latino guy living in the Kempinski Residences - I have met 2 girls who have gone on dates with you and mentioned how obvious you were when you mentioned that you 'need to charge your phone'.

Do you really mean that this change has happened in the course of just one month? When in December were you there? Perhaps many of the expats were back home for Christmas?

Wasn't over Christmas, but maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit. Still, the lack of jobs in Europe has a lot of young guys running around Jakarta doing random jobs. I keep seeing more and more young expats each time I'm in town.

Ive been meeting a lot of guys who were models, which was surprising considering they were just regular looking Spaniards.

I wonder if the general public feels that way?

I think it's possible that you may be overreacting here.

But if you're not, time to up your game.

Hit the gym harder, get a new wardrobe, and put in more work.

In my experience, getting numbers is a cinch (GI isn't a bad spot) but 2nd meetups from those numbers aren't so straightforward. Not sure what the issue is, could be my game or a lack of calibration, but I also suspect that the girls are happy to get attention during the day but far less willing to pursue it beyond that point. I'm curious to hear what others have experienced as far as daygame goes.

I myself certainly don't agree with many members' attraction to the darker looking girls in SEA (and I certainly seem to be in the minority with that) but I can see where the appeal comes from for some. To each their own and all that. If we were all flocking to the same countries that would make for quite an unpleasant playing field.

My impression is the exact opposite. They got to the SEA looking for chicks that are easier to find in China/Korea/Japan. Because lighter skinned, taller, more Chinese chicks are "quality". Which seems to be how people the SEA seem to think as well.

Same can be said for guys going to Latin America. Looking for Blondes in Montevideo and what not.

If I essentially wanted white chicks, I'd stay right here in America. Getting set up in Scottsdale or Minneapolis is infinitely easier than traveling to a foreign land, doing visa runs, and navigating a new language and culture.

Like you say, to each his own.

Nice info OP. If you like the lighter taller look then you should look for the Chinese Indo hang outs: Empirica was fantastic for that last July. Saw tons of stunners that wouldn't be out of place in taipei or seoul. This is coming from an Asian guy...

Sorry, I didn't meant to make it seem like Jakarta was completely done or difficult. 5 notches in 7 days still highlights the ease of Jakarta given that these were mainly social-circle girls in the social-circle of 2 of Indonesia's top movie stars.

I simply feel that it is overrated, and that one isn't going to get Philippines volume here unless they completely sacrifice quality and bang every girl off of online game. Girls are being more selective, particularly online, and guys will need to have looks now to succeed. I have the looks and the connections to succeed in Asia, but my club game isn't so amazing. I can pull girls left and right if I get them on a real date though. It's what people are highlighting in the other SEA threads - there are younger guys here looking for sex, so the older guys will have to work much harder.

Lots of ranting from me, I know. Will post back to compare to my experiences this week in BKK.

It also just seems like everyone's now fucked a whitey and is ready to look for a relationship (although they still can be fucked in 5 minutes).

Yes, I second the fact that Indonesia is no Philippines. I had a lot of notches in Jakarta, but it took work and many of the girls had been on the gringo cock carousel. Thailand is no cakewalk either. My intuition tells me it is getting harder for those of us over 35, here in SE Asia.
Unfortunately, don't have time to go to the Phils this year as Colombia beckons.

Indonesia is honestly the only place where i've felt legitimate fear of aids and never raw dogged. The girls (even middle class) are really skanky in my opinion. My demographic was mostly Chindos but it wasn't that different..a lot of weird and wild sluts everywhere in that scene.

Any man that marries an Indo is probably a fool though. It's just such a dicey party culture in Jakarta you never know what you would get.

....Whoops.

I think your fear is out of place though you can get HIV anywhere and it is still unlikely for strait men.
Though I've never been to New York Jakarta is considered the indo equivalent and the girls in The Big D were tanned by God not an easy bake oven with planet fitness decals. Plus it's not like you should marry a girl you met in the club in any country.

I FUCKING LOVED JAKARTA.

Seriously, I've never in my life thought it was possible to build a 20+ strong social circle in less than three days, yet I did it.

Walked into X2 on a Saturday night (pissed to the gills might I add) and it was like a mosaic of girls that I'd fucked the previous few days, girls I had been friends with on Facebook for years but never met (and made out- that was scary because she knows I'm married n shit) and girls I had pipelined on Tinder. I was king and no fucks were given.

I really had some next level confidence-cum faux celebrity game cranking in Jakarta and I hope to replicate that.

If the trend you noticed is true Cid, maybe it's changing from a place where just being "the only white guy in the village" isn't a viable strategy and you actually have to have style/solid vibe and social skills/decent game. Personally, I don't find that a bad thing. It weeds out the dudes who are showing up and JUST riding on the color of their skin...IME usually not cool people to be around. Or at least means they stick to the area/chicks who are in turn only looking for a white guy with a pulse.

I also don't buy that it's a deal breaker for hot girls if you don't live in a fancy executive apartment.

If you're paying $500-800/month for your own central apartment in a city like that you're AT LEAST on par and in the same area as the affluent upper-middle classes in town (like, plenty of parents will rent those kinds of places for their adult children to live in while they're studying or working centrally). It's a more-than-OK base to pull a chick from any background/level of hotness to.

The only girls who will balk at that are the ones who are specifically looking for a "provider" and a big lifestyle upgrade.

If you have game, you can rent an "acceptable" place - clean, modern and central - and pull girls from any social class. IME. That's the point of having game [Image: wink.gif]
