Dominican Republic Trip Report January 2015

There is plenty of information on DR, so I'm not sure how much new intel I have. In any event, I hope there are some helpful bits of information or at least an update.

I didn't have a set itinerary except for a few nights in Santo Domingo and returning from Puerto Plata. I pipelined on Dominican Cupid but I didn't put as much effort into it compared with other trips. My goal was not a lot of notches. It was to relax, do some exploring to see if I would return for an extended period and maybe a mini relationship.

Santo Domingo

I arrived in Santo Domingo a few days later than scheduled due to being sick. I stayed at the Napalitano Hotel. The hotel is located in the Malecon area. The el Conde is walkable during the day. There isn't much going on in Malecon except a few restaurants.

I arrived late Sunday night and crashed. The next day I walked to El Conde. I wasn't impressed with the talent at around noon. I didn't see one bangable girl. This was disappointing. It could have been too early in the day or maybe a lot of girls were home due to the holidays.

I scheduled two dates from Cupid, the two cutest girls. The first was 22 with fake tits and a great ass. I would rate her as a 7. She came to my hotel and the hotel manager had her sign in and I believe held onto her ID.

We went straight to my to my room to have a drink and listen to music. Escalation was easy, no LMR. We were banging within 30 minutes and did a few times that afternoon. She left a few hours later and asked for taxi fair. I also paid her taxi to the hotel.

Early evening I met up with Global Entry at the hotel bar. He a good guy and very well traveled.

Later that evening I met up with the second girl from Cupid, 26 but she looked about 20. She was flaca with a small butt and breasts. Her face was very pretty and she had a nice personality.

She came directly to my hotel. I paid her taxi, 200 pesos and we walked to the elevator inside the hotel. The manager didn't seem to care.

Inside my room we talked a lot and listened to music. She has a sweet personality and a great sense of humor. Escalating was easy after an hour. She had her period but have me a bj.

I saw her the rest of my two days in Santo Domingo. I didn't think anyone of my other contacts would be an upgrade and I genuinely liked her personality.

I didn't do any nightgame. I went to Agora mall. I didn't see many targets but managed two approaches, neither stuck.

Santiago

The morning of New Year's Day I went to SantiAgo. I had some nice light skinned girls pipelined. I stayed at Matum Hotel which was a good location, within walking distance to the Monument.

The bars close to the Monument were dead on New Years Eve The place was a ghost town. All the Dominicans were home celebrating with family but the club next to my hotel got going at about 2 am. It seemed like a lot of couples.

All my contacts from Cupid were with their families or flaked. I ended up meeting two Danish girls in my hotel. The three of us went out for dinner and drinks. Both girls were cool and we had fun. One seemed interested in me. I like her personality but I wast attracted to her enough to pursue.

Cabarete

Fearing Santiago would be a ghost town on New Year's Day I took
a bus to Sosua. Cabarete was a short taxi from there.

I had nothing pipelined in this area. I thought about inviting a girl from Santo Domingo but I was all too happy to relax on the beach for a few days and check out the scene. Cabarete is low key with tourists from Europe, America and Canada.

My few days in Cabarete were uneventful and relaxing. I met a few German and Canadian girls in their early 20s but nothing developed beyond hanging out. They introduced me to their friends and spent a few nights at the bars with them. There was one cute German girl I was gaming but couldn't get her isolated.

I got the impression it was easy to develop a social circle as many people were living there for work, school, or taking a break from life. Everyone was friendly and low key.

Forum guys

Global Entry
Met in person, good guy

Shout out to Nascimento for helping me plan the trip.

I was in touch with other forum guys but didn't get a chance to meet up in person.

Future trip

If I return, I will hit Santiago when it is more happening. If I meet someone cool I would like to bring her to cabarete.

Dominican Republic Trip Report January 2015

Per my discussion with Dante, and because my experiences do not in my opinion warrant a separately searchable data sheet, I'm appending mine to his. Even if it is, we'll come up in the same search (Edit: I ended up writing more than I thought I would, as usual).

I flew into Santo Domingo on December 29th. After you get off the plane, you'll have to walk through immigration, and hand in both of the forms they gave you on the plane, as well as pay an entry fee (10$) and fill out an additional form when you pay the fee. That desk is just before the immigration line (which didn't have anyone on it), so bounce over to the right, fill out the paperwork, pay your entry fee, and then go to the immigration queue. It seems to be a rubber stamp process and I was through in a moment. However there was a dog sniffing luggage inside by customs clearance, so perhaps don't pack your own supplies, you blazers.

The Santo Domingo airport is actually in Boca Chica, so if you're considering hitting both, you might consider going to BC at the end or beginning of your choice. Pretty much universally, i was quoted $40 dollars to and from the airport to Malecon. Going back I checked around a bunch and got the same reply (1700 pesos). To find the cab away from the airport, look for the uniformed guy nearest door out of the building, follow him to the left to the dispatcher and there you go. The ride to Malecon (the Port or Jetty), where I stayed, was 25 minutes or so, depending on traffic.

Like Dantes and many others, I booked into the Napoletano. The good about it is that they bothered me not at all about my guest, a young women who spent three of my four nights with me in the hotel. It was never mentioned. The waiter at the poolside restaurant, La Terrassa, where they serve the included buffet breakfast did ask the one time we went together if she wanted the buffet - I said yes but she said no, but had she eaten, we would have paid. I don't know what would have happened if I booked the room for two. All in, I believe I paid around $425 for the room for four nights. Before taxes it was 330, but taxes are like 28% in the DR, and so the overall cost was significantly higher. Keep that in mind vs. AirBnB possibilities (which I looked at but ultimately decided against). I did book it through Pointshound (same price as on expedia) and got 1600 Alaska airlines points for the booking as well.

I thought the room was fairly mediocre given the price, actually. Oldish mattress, shitty toiletries (maybe bring your own if you care) and mediocre water pressure. Water seemed to hard to get a lather on the soap. Bad bedding as well.

On the other hand, the staff was largely very pleasant (and often cute), and the pool deck on the second floor, despite lacking many comfortable lounge chairs, is fairly ideal for a date than can easily escalate. E.g....

I invited my girl to the pool. Told her to bring her swimsuit, after meeting, we went up to the room, she changed, we went back to the pool, swam, had some lunch, back to the room in the late PM, and closed.

Location-wise, the pool deck-restaurant overlooks the ocean, which is quite pleasant. The food is fairly mediocre and not inexpensive by DR standards. All that said, I didn't find the DR to be very cheap as compared to places I've been in Asia or other third world countries. I'm sure its much cheaper outside Santo Domingo, but in SD, taxis weren't a bargain, even after negotiation. Menu prices on the two restaurants I frequented most (La Terrassa, at the Napolitano pool, and Luis Parillades, which is on the waterfront three blocks away from the hotel going towards Zona Colonial, a very pleasant spot with nice views) weren't cheap. Without drinking, expect to spend around $25 minimum for a dinner date at either of those two spots. I did like the food at Luis Parillades, though - apparently its a fairly well known spot and has been featured in commercials for its scenic appearance.

Heading down El Malecon waterfront in the other direction towards Ciudad Nuevo, you'll pass a few pizzerias on the right, and a jetty on the left that has some fast food takeaway spots. They had concerts and an outdoor fair going on during my stay, which was over New Years. Lots of families and people milling about. Many people come to Malecon just to hang out and walk the waterfront. There is broken glass everywhere - wear enclosed shoes or tread carefully.

I spent my first night in a bodega drinking beer basically on the street. The weather was quite pleasant that night and it was fine, as I practiced my spanish with a local dude who was there. The bodegas and liquor stores where they serve drinks dominate nightlife in that part of Santo Domingo, as Dominicans don't seem too reliant on fancy ambience to get their drink on. In fact, though I don't know who he was, a professional baseball player was drinking in the same bodega - clearly he could afford more but that's where he chose to hang.

I'll be clear that I wasn't hassled at all on Malecon, not even by hawkers, except the taxi drivers outside the hotel. In Zona Colonia, which is the red light district and which I only visited once around lunchtime, the hawkers did approach me, as did street beggars. I was wearing headphones, though, and just keep walking, and nothing was aggressive in the least. I didn't venture far and wide, but felt zero threat during my whole trip. I walked through El Conde end to end, and it frankly wasn't particularly interesting. I stopped for a blended fruit drink, sat for a few moments, and had the luck to spot this guy and his wonderful footwear. He might be punching over his weight to pull any "woman."

[Image: b440d09c-06e4-412e-8205-524affae4e67_zpsd7431be3.jpg]

Further west along Malecon there is a Crowne Plaza and then a Sheraton. While I was there, I checked the rates online and both were listed at 109/night. Presumably the rate would be increased by the taxes as well, and thus be a good 30-40 percent higher than Napoletano. Those hotels did look much nicer to be sure, with the Sheraton definitely looking like a step up from the Crowne. No idea of their door policies. The restaurant in the sheraton was quite reasonable in price (not really more expensive than the others mentioned) and I'd recommend it (especially the fresh grilled fish).

I met up with Conquistador at Agora mall, which I spent a few hours in. It was NYE so I don't know that the crowd was particularly typical of the place, and there were some decent looking girls walking around, mostly with other girls or with boyfriends/husbands. The mall doesn't really have available wifi (or at least I couldn't get connected for data service). In fact I couldn't even get data roaming around the mall on a new iPhone 6+ (Verizon) on the Claro network). It may be that the mall overwhelms the capacity of the local servers to provide data service). Conquistador spent the evening with me and my date for NYE, at la Terrasa where they had a party. Eventually he headed off to a huge free concert down the shore in Malecon. He's a solid fellow and knowledgeable about latin america. I wish him luck.

Departing was fairly straight-forward. American Express platinum holders can use the Amex Lounge in Terminal B, even if flying out of terminal A. There is also a Star Alliance lounge that works with Priority Pass but not for the Priority Pass card provided for AMEX platinums. The lounges are next to each other.

Overall I had a nice time, but that was largely the result of meeting the girl, who was very pleasant, polite, ladylike and thin, and who had an ass like a fresh peach. If I was bouncing girl to girl, I likely wouldn't have had as much fun, though one never knows. I pipelined more girls than I could have had time to reasonably meet, and then didn't end up meeting any of the pipelinees (the girl I spent time messaged me on LatinAmerican Cupid the first morning after I arrived and we made an immediate date).

Whatsapp is still the dominant form of communication for girls in SD. I had the Cupid account, I spoofed gps on Tinder with Tools for Tinder, and added a tagged account. Tagged quality to me was pretty low. Lat Am cupid was variable, and tinder was glitchy (less so when I was actually in SD) but the quality was decent. I am still getting messaged by tinder matches and girls I moved over to Whatsapp. All of the girls with whom I ultimately connected were between 19-24, and I used my real age of 44, for whatever that's worth.

Girl-wise, in SD things tilt more towards darker skin girls and girls with a bit of a belly/ass. You can find outliers like I did. My girl is from San Francisco, Dominican Republic, closer to Santiago. This was consistent between day game and online, though maybe more prominent in online.

My limited Spanish played fine for the most part and I got around fine. It improved over even just the four days I spent there. I haven't studied or use Spanish regularly in perhaps 25 years, so it was nice to see I still have some aptitude. I did download and use Duolingo for a few weeks before visiting, which was decent as a vocabulary refresher.

Overall impressions of SD are that it was worth it for a visit but the arb on costs isn't high enough given its lack of infrastructure and quality of girls to be really enticing as a location for players who are location independent and looking to relocate. However, if you prefer Morenas with a little more meat than I do, you might think differently.

Dantes, you should indicate more about your logistics and process for getting to Santiago and then to Sosua/Cabarete. That would be useful.

Guys, how easy is it for a guy with almost non-existent Spanish to game in Santo Domingo? Is there any difference b/w Santo Domingo and Santiago when it comes to the language barrier? Are these two cities worth visiting for 3-4 days w/o Spanish if you pipline and get a few numbers in advance?

Global Entry: I know you've been around. How would you compare DR vs Asia in terms of easiness of getting notches? For example, Manila vs Santo Domingo.

I think its possible, but you'll definitely narrow your opportunities. Many girls (probably not the most desirable) will say "no problema" or "no importa." In fact, I started most whatsapp conversations or online chats with No hablo espanol, and the response was always that it didn't matter to them (I was underselling, as I can chat a little bit, and write more).

I think if you've limited options and limited time, and you have 3-4 days free, its absolutely 100 percent worthwhile for you to head to SD for a long weekend, even without spanish. The only question is whether its the best choice - its a good choice, but maybe there are others that make more sense for a non-spanish speaker. There are definitely girls you can pipeline who speak english. I pipelined (from Tinder gps spooofing) a 19 year old who spoke decent english - she was the one from pipelining that I wanted to meet the most, but the timing and ultimately my schedule and preoccupation with my current companion denied that.

All this said, i think it would be very powerful when pipelining, in retrospect, to write your profile en espanol. You can even say that your spanish is bad in that profile, but the inability to express yourself in the native language would be limited in important if you use that profile to set the stage so to speak. If I go again, I'll definitely translate my profile into spanish. Many of the girls are choosing based solely on pics, and while I am decent looking, written text would potentially give me a lot more DHV than just photos.

Want to add one point, which is that the DR has better looking and more feminine woman overall than most American cities in my opinion. Even if they start with less, they do more with what they have. And if they're good looking to begin with, they don't hide in under hipster or other BS.

Have you guys been to English-speaking countries in that region (e.g. Barbados)? Could you compare girls there and in DR?

I've been to a bunch of different countries in the area, off the top of my head, Haiti (same island), Barbados, British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, US Virgin islands, Caymans, Turks and Caicos and St. Maarten (I guess it depends on how you define region [Image: smile.gif] ).

Dominicans have a different vibe to be sure, more akin to latin cultures. I found less of that feel in all of the other places mentioned, which were more african based populations, to me, and more laid back, less energetic. Dominicans in SD also seem more interested in fashion then those I encountered in other non-Hispanic islands around the Caribbean. I imagine it differs from city to city though, as despite its poverty, SD is I believe the largest city population wise in the Caribbean and is more metropolitan as a result. The feel in some ways was more akin to Mexico than to those other places, at least in my limited experience, with the big exception that the girls are much less conservative than your average mexican girl.

I have been to the Bahamas. The talent in DR is superior and doesn't compare.

I agree with Global Entry. Santo Domingo is worth it without Spanish if you pipeline. As I mentioned the two girls I met in Santo Domingo came directly to my hotel and escalation was far too easy.

Dantes, you should indicate more about your logistics and process for getting to Santiago and then to Sosua/Cabarete. That would be useful.

Funny you should mention this. The morning of check from the hotel in Santo Domingo, I told the hotel staff that I needed a taxi to the bus terminal. They loaded my luggage inside the hotel taxi. The driver was the same as the day before when I went to Agora Mall. I told him that I was going to the bus station and we had a brief conversation in Spanish that I was going to Santiago. He had mentioned the day before that he was from Santiago.

What happened next is a lesson in my Spanish deteriorating since my last Colombia trip and how hard it is to understand Dominican Spanish. I noticed after 20 minutes that we should have arrived at the bus terminal. I asked my driver if we were close to the bus station and he looked at my with a blank stare. He was under the impression that he was driving me to Santiago. I told him there was a miscommunication and I wanted to go to the bus station. He replied that it was in the other direction. At this point I could have directed him to rake me to the bus station, but I decided to continue with the ride.

The driver quoted me a fee of 150 dollars. At this point we were cruising along the highway and I told him I would give him 100 dollars for the ride. He apologized for the misunderstanding. Long story short, I ended up paying 100 bucks for the taxis ride which took about 2 hours and 20 minutes.

The trip from Santiago to Sousa/Cabarete was less eventful. I took Caribe tours one way for about 180 pesos. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable. Once in Sousa, it was a short taxi ride to Cabarete.

In Santiago you have two main bus choices for getting to Puerto Plata/Sosua/Cabarete.

Metro, or Caribe Tours. They are both in the same location (Caribe Tours actually has two pickup spots but the one closest to the city center and momument is located 30 seconds on foot from the Metro bus).

Caribe Tours runs every hour and costs 160 pesos to Sosua. Metro buses run less frequently and cost 195 pesos (a difference of less than a dollar). They are both air conditioned and clean, and take about 2-2.5 hours from Santiago to Sosua.

From Sosua you just cross the steet and wait for the guagua to Cabarete - 40 pesos usually, sometimes 25. Don't take a moto or private taxi - the guaguas run very frequently and are just as good, unless you have a lot of luggage.

So it's like five dollars and 2.5-3 hours from Santiago to Cabarete.

Cabarete is kind of whack, though. There are a lot of fat Europeans. But there are nice things too.

Puerto Plata, Sosua, and Cabarete are all very gringo-fied.

I would like to check out the hinterlands and small towns to the east of Cabarete - remote beaches with only the locals around.

the girls i didn't meet, those pipelined before or during, are being very persistent via text (as is, of course, the sweetie with whom I spent most of my time, though in a different manner).

Dante, you getting the same reaction?

Dantes, what's your opinion on the DR versus Colombia? The general consensus from everyone I've talked two who've been to both is that Colombia blows the DR out of the water. I still want to hit up the DR and Haiti one day though just to check it out.

Overall, I prefer Colombia for the culture, the girls, and the cost. But DR has some has some nice aspects:

Beautiful beaches
Closer to North America
Girls are slightly easier, many with big natural breasts

Scotian, I think you would have fun in DR. Santo Domingo has to be one of the easier places to get laid. Comparing it to Bogota, I prefer the latter. Lighter skinned girls are to be found in Santiago. You can make a comparison between Medellin and Santiago. Santiago feels smaller. There are some really nice looking girls, but Paisas are superior. Also, at some of the beaches you can Game more European, Canadian and American tourists as another option. Most of us prefer the local girls but it's nice to have options.

Scotian to add to what Dantes has said, I think you'd like Cabarete on the north coast as well. I feel like it's your type of place; relaxing beach, low key, down to earth vibe, and besides having some gringos it's not infested with them (unlike Punta Cana).

For girls you can't go wrong with SD, though it's more of a quantity over quality place. But besides the easy bang prospects I don't think you'll like the city very much.

Dominican Republic Trip Report January 2015

Update:

I just returned from a short trip to Santiago (5 days). Unfortunately, I arrived at a less than ideal time with rainy weather and it being Mother's Day.

Online:

Many of my online contacts left the city or spent the weekend with their families. I was still able to bang one cute 23-year old from online. I was in touch with her a few weeks prior through whatsapp and skype which helped create a nice rapport. Several girls who I wasn't able to meet up with are still messaging me even though I left town.

Nightlife:

Nightlife gets going late, past midnight and some spots 3am. The holiday really affected the turnout over the weekend. Shout out to Ballsdeep for his hospitality in showing me a few venues. Also to Patron who I didn't get a chance to meet but provided solid information.

Daygame:

Daygame was interesting. I hit a few malls and universities, but I didn't make many approaches, roughly 6 or 7 which yielded three numbers. Girls are not used being approached by a foreigner in a direct manner. My direct style caught a few girls off guard. Daygame yielded one bang which occurred on the second date. This girl is a college student whom I enjoyed her spending time with and make see again.

Previously, I didn't consider Dominican girls LTR material. This past trip made me revise my initial impressions as I found the girls in Santiago to be sweet, affectionate and worthy of such consideration

Miscellaneous

Gold's Gym in the Plaza de International allows you to pay by the day (9 dollars).

I stayed at the Matum Hotel, located by the Monument. I found this to be rather centralized location. I paid roughly 50 dollars per night, not including taxes. The pool is not yet open. Breakfast is included which consists of a solid Dominican spread. The Wifi is terrible and will not be accessible in your room. You need to use the lobby for this.

Taxi from the Airport to Matum: 20 dollars
Taxi to Levels and Gold's Gym, 5 minutes and 150 Pesos

Yeah, there are a lot of possible LTR girls in Santiago, especially at Pucamaima University. You can enter the campus and wander around.

Santiago people sometimes openly express their disdain for Santo Domingo. Santiago girls are more traditional, whereas Santo Domingo girls tend to (from what I hear) be pretty loose.
