The Truth Hurts, Eh Pakistan?

So, Pakistan is getting butthurt over the tv show Homeland, which just finished up a 4th season where most of the action took place there. I think it was fairly spot on in terms of their double dealing.

Pakistani officials are furious with Showtime after watching the fourth season of its hit show “Homeland,” which they say portrays their country as an ugly, ignorant, terror-plagued “hellhole.”

But... Pakistan pretty much is an ugly, ignorant, terror-plagued hellhole, ain't it?

Its home to the second tallest mountain, K2. A much more ardous and challenging climb than Everest and only 68 feet shorter to boot.

One of the scariest things in the world now is Pakistan having nukes. I bet a lot of intelligence resources are spent watching them.

Not by a long shot. ISIS's flying Toyota pickups that drop North Korean made Ebola tipped smart bombs is what scares me the most.

It is of course a regrettable development, but Pakistan's nuclear devices are mostly a concern to Pakistan's neighbors, primarily India, because Pakistan does not have intercontinental ballistic missiles or other delivery system for projecting them beyond a few thousand miles. So, for example, the United States is well beyond the practical range of such weapons.

Agree except about being ugly.

Yeah and the militaristic climate of Pakistan as a whole doesn't help. I cannot remember where but I saw an interview where someone described the place by saying "Pakistan isn't a country with an army, it's an army that owns a country."

If there's a third world war it could be caused by some "incident" between India and Pakistan that goes nuclear.

Can't help but wonder what Ghandi would think if he could see what these two countries have become.

@Fisto- yes there are some stunning Paki girls here in the US. I used to know one but I found out she was part of some feminist group at her school. Solid 8 though. If only I had game back then...[Image: undecided.gif]

Come to think of it, a show depicting the Saudis for the duplicitous snakes that they are would be refreshing as well.

Honestly, I have to ask, what is it with these countries being so butt-hurt all the time? OK, a US show depicts your country like a shithole. Big deal. There's plenty of Pakistani politicians and TV personalities who depict the US as the devil. I wonder if it's something to do with them being so insecure that their honor/reputation is all that matters. Reminds me of those videos where hoodlums keep saying 'why you dissing me?' over the slightest issue.

India has this problem as well. Jay Leno once joked that Mitt Romney's house was a palace (showing the Sikhs' Golden Temple). Joke was on Romney, but the Indian government was up in arms. The state department had to calmly explain to them that it was meant as irony.

But overall, fuck yeah, about time Pakistan is depicted as the terrorist-supporting state they are.

Not happening. - redbeard in regards to ETH flippening BTC

The lack of a delivery system is less of an issue as much as control of said materiel.

Saudi Arabia is technically a non-nuclear country, but if Iran obtains the weapon, you can be sure SA will have it within weeks from Pakistan.

It is totally ironic how much resources five eyes expends on the Pak account because the US historically sided with Pak over Ind due to the ties India and Russia have historically shared.

I guess India had RvF concepts down on lock decades before they became popular.

The show depicts the ISI working closely with the "good Taliban," a Pakistani term now famous after "bad Taliban" slaughtered over a hundred children two weeks ago.

If any RvF'ers are in the IC or @ State, I would be curious to here what they think of the show. I find it unwatchable as do most I know within the IC.

The best "IC" show in recent time was Rubicon. That should've become a huge hit for AMC - I still hope that Netflix or Amazon Studios will restart it.

It should've never been cancelled - it was quite good and more palatable than any other IC-based show for IC people.

I thought this was going to be aimed at the recent mass murder of children by the Taliban they allow free movement within their own borders.

Its not funny when your own kind are slaughtered like cattle. They're pretty quick on zoning in where these guys are and then eliminating them. You only know where someone lives if you know of them and what they do.

I've never watched Homeland. The country may be nice but the elements within it are making it a very ugly and dangerous place.

In all seriousness, I believe that if the RVF were to organize itself into an army and be given about 3-6 months for basic training, it would be a formidable force and one that could defeat much larger organizations.

Al Qaeda loses on both fronts. Those dudes couldn't compete in getting women without arranged marriages for the most part and the 72 virgins is a lovely story, but that is all that it is. Whoever came up with the figure 72 virgins and people believe that!?!?!?!?!???.... I am very skeptical....

Anyways in a war, the dudes on here are physically stronger, better in shape and more smarter. They would be cleaned out. But organizing a RVF wouldn't be so easy. Al qaidahas got the propaganda and brainwashing organization up and running. We are a few years back in that sense[Image: smile.gif]

Pakistan,,,,has been a lost cause for a long time. India and Pakistan were once joined and look at India today versus Pakistan...it's a mess. Corruption and religious minorities being discriminated against ,,the list goes on and on.

The ISI routinely works with the Afghan Taliban ("good Taliban") in real life. As I understand it, the Pakistani Taliban was their baby that kind of got away from them. Blowback is a bitch.
