Though I kinda support the right of taxi drivers to choose their clientele as long as they're honest about it from the start, human rights be damned... This is a fucking bizarre thing for anyone to want. What's the business sense in locking out half your potential customer base? Could see women calling this instead of normal cab even during quiet hours if they perceive it'd come faster than a normal cab. Or it's just an ideological whim of the owner.

I'm pretty sure this would be illegal in the EU.

Here in the UK many Muslim taxi drivers have found themselves on the wrong side of the law for refusing to carry guide dogs (I've never understood their thing with dogs), which is illegal here.

Women only anything is a no go.

Issue is if you want to register your vehicle as a livery/taxicab and carry passengers for a fee then you have to abide by the governing transportation laws.

I'm sure this service will go over real well with black men, who already have a hard time hailing taxicabs.

Between this, and the recent street harassment video's revival of Emmett Till's ghost, I hope people see where this is leading: right back to 1900, when being a black man talking to a (gasp!) white woman got you beaten up or worse.

Not so sure thats feasible. How many women drive taxis? I imagine it would be incredibly difficult to staff an entire cab company with only female drivers. Hell, I've ridden a lot of taxis in my life in different cities and never once had a female driver - another very male dominated field. Why aren't feminists stomping their feet and making hashtags about the lack of female taxi drivers?

The fact is, most women refuse to do taxi jobs because they feel unsafe doing so. Taxi drivers already get mugged all the time, a female driver could easily get raped. So I can understand why they want a female only taxi service.
