I actually read some of the preview on Amazon today and, as expected, I was not disappointed.

When I finish reading the other books I'm reading now, I plan on giving it a go (though I don't have a Kindle, so I'll have to do the alternative).

It actually seems like an interesting thing to read before I reread the 48 Laws of Power (the sort of book you really need to read annually to refresh yourself on). How will the wisdom compare and contrast?

I've always found Quintus Curtius column on ROK to be pretty inspiring. The type of stuff I read before going to the gym. Just purchased the book.

Great line. Contemporary Western Feminism can only be defined as a non-idea that is redefined in every situation to give women "advantage" even if it results in mind-blowingly stupid, contradictory positions--woman are every bit as tough as men and should be able to fight on the front lines in battle (even though their presence there will weaken national security) BUT a man should never, ever hit a woman, under any circumstances, because she is a woman. When a pro athlete wins a drunken fistfight in an elevator, he is universally vilified, not because his opponent was smaller and weaker than him, but because she was a woman.

Well as far as the domestic abuse goes, Pearl - to quote a worldly cop I used to know: Domestic violence is almost always a case of two idiots fighting, and the weaker idiot losing.

And having been 'volunteered' to do charity work for a local battered women's shelter - all I can say is 'never again'. Those women were sl**s, druggies, drunkards and morons. Most had children who they wouldn't hesitate to slap around. I would argue that their neglect of their men and children was criminal for the majority of them - and the shelters are actively enabling that and protecting the perps. Fact is, that if you have a dog in this fight between the battle of the sexes - next time some sanctimonious idiot is asking you for a donation to the battered women's shelter - tell him or her to sod off. They are not caring for victims of violence at all.
