Man, it sounds a lot like the Bay Area in terms of logistics. You need a fuckn car in order to go anywhere here, except a Honda Civic will do. Big Trucks are actually a turnoff here unless you happen to bump into some rare hick chick.

Are you talking Bay Area or here? Trucks are popular as hell here if you can pull off the country boy look. Too many girls here are fake country(such a turn of but you deal with what's available). Then again having a nice car other than a low end Sedan(i.e. Hondas/Toyotas) or a truck puts you above a lot of dudes.

I am making a comparison with transportation and logistics. both areas require a car to go anywhere (except once you're in proper SF, as public transportation is descent there, although it stinks like crap in them thanks to the hobos there). and trucks here can actually backfire on you. you're better off trying to pull with having a 1990s Honda Civic that's tuned up like how 20 something Asian dudes ride.

Ya a car is a must have in this area to get anywhere. Also yes I do agree it can backfire if you aren't country looking, but personally getting an old sportscar like a 2004 Camaro or Mustang is better than a Sedan unless it's upper class.

I ended up ditching the loft and am going to get something more economical. The loft was sick and my dream bachelor pad, but it was going to put a huge hole in my pocket.

A mile north of reliant stadium. I think it's considered part of the Medical Center area.

Hello Houstonians, I'll be in Htown this weekend. What's the best (black, latin, or Carribean) nightspot to get a quality (7/10+) ONS from? I'll be staying in Mo City.

RougeNoir- PM Screwston, he knows all of the spots here. I'm pretty new to town and haven't been out much otherwise I'd give you some venues.

Wait you are in the suburb of Missouri City? I take that back if you want to come along for day gaming a bit I'm down if you are nearby. I just don't have a lift or enough money to go downtown.

^ I'll be at this Crawfish Fest in Pearland during the day and will hit the Galleria eventually as well. My itinerary for night game is still up in the air.

Maybe someone can chime in on Dream, the gentleman's club, otherwise I'll have to discover Dream on my own.

Hit up Marquis II in West U tonight. Decent amount of cute Rice University girls, but they're all in large groups. It strikes me as a social circle reigns supreme type of joint. Ended the night with number for a 30 year old that was enamored with that fact that I was from CA. Going to first date bang and dip on her.

Are there any apartment finder agencies or websites that you locals recommend? It sounds like there's no real central location so getting a cheaper apartment farther out wouldn't hurt you as much.

Did you end up doing the move? If so how did you end up finding your place/where is it/ how much did you pay.
I'm going to be in H-town over the summer, so been reading the data up on this city as much as possible.

Great info all around. Shout outs to Screwson, he's been a huge help reading his htown data, same goes for hwuzhere amazing info on the city.

From what I can tell:
Htown is bigger then dtown. So houston is more diverse but lacks some of the concentrated quality of Dallas. imo size is better for being able to dissapear in a city.
Htown is spread out so get a car or you are going to be fucked.
Htown has some great bars but again is spread out. prepare to drive.
Houston is a chill city. people are easy to get on with.
Lots of money in the city but it's not as flashy as Dallas
Good ratios wherever you go even though it can be a bit of a "dukes of hazard feel" in some areas.
Good mix of people from hipsters to housewives.
Not going to get board in this city.
Not great for day game due to the spread out feel.
Real mix of everything here white, black, hispanic, etc.
Probably one of the cheapest big cities to live in in USA
1.75 beers in some places......damn that's cheep

Anything else i'm missing? its a hard call on where to go between texas and a few other states.

If you can't do any better, you've settled. --me--

At the moment I'm busy with the 48 Hour Film Project for the Houston competition, but we were filming at several parks across the area. Oyster Creek, Kitty Hollow, and a lot of the suburban parks are loaded with MILFS early in the morning. Personally not my niche, but thought I would let you guys know.

I made in the move in late February. Had a lease signed by March 1st thanks to the HAR.com app. This app is all smaller privately owned properties. I live by the medical center and am paying 1K a month for a condo. Most places inside the westside of the loop on the app are going for 1K minimum but you can find some cheap apartments in Montrose and the surrounding area if you look. Live inside the loop and as close to Montrose/Midtown as you can if you like to go out.

Got hammered and wound up at kryptonite when the bar I was at shut down. Ended up pulling a 19 year old back to my place for the bang. God bless younger women and after hours clubs.

Awesome info. I've defiantly heard the Montrose etc backed up as best place to live. I've even considered dropping 1400 a month for a downtown apt. I was looking to spend that in Miami for a shitty old place not even on the beach..... Houston seems like a better choice to live, to say the least. Not as centered, but number of places and price..... It's hard not to move to Vegas though..... That still tempts me.

Couldn't have been better timing to find this forum right before I move there. Everyone's data sheets and local info has been crazy helpful.

It's not the best night to be out, I know, but any suggestions what to do/where to go on a Tuesday night? I'm in Houston for 24 hours next week but would like to take advantage of a free evening in a new city.

Id just hit westheimer and check out boondocks, poison girl, catbirds and numbers. You can park and walk to all three. I went to sherlocks on memorial last saturday. The last thing I remember is ordering three shots of 14 dollar scotch (was the day of my mothers funeral). Woke up in a hotel with a solid 7. My game was on auto pilot because I pulled her to another bar and at some point called her a bitch. I was completely out of control and she still wanted me to call her the next day. Gotta keep the beast under wraps tonight.

I've been planning on day/night gaming in Montrose. High number of single/hipster health-conscious chicks. Also high number of gays.

I win.
