G Luggage - That Can hold Suits

So I am in the market for some new dope luggage. 2 pieces.

(My friends weesh dog chewed the strap on my small bag and some airport monkey threw my other big rolling bag and the retractable handle broke. Still got like 5 Globetrotts out of it, so no bad blood).

I know there is a thread on here with a bunch of backpacks. I don't roll that way.

I need something that can hold 4 Custom Suits or so and mad shirts. And a smaller bag for other stuff.

Anyone have any suggestions of something they have tested in the International Playboy field?

I'm not the backpacker luggage type either...shit is just tacky. But anyway I roll with SwissGear by Wenger Garment Bag for my blazers, pants, suits and shirts. I can nornally fit a good amount of clothes in that garment bag and always carry it on as well. It could easily four custom suits & shirts but that's probably it.

Internationalswagger,

This one? http://www.amazon.com/Wenger-SwissGear-E...B00176JV4M

That looks cool but pretty small. Do you usually use it for short trips?

I need something that can roll me for a month or so with dry cleans.

Anyone got the Data Sheets?

I use something similar to the bag in the link that you posted. The advantage of a small bag is that you can take it as carry-on luggage and don't have to worry about baggage handlers messing up your stuff.

Plenty of videos of other options

Mystik - that one looks cool, too small though.

Brian - Good one. I may go with that.

Mixx - got any insight?

I wonder if you can get Luggage Custom Made?

I used to put my clothes very neat inside my luggage, after rolling around with it at the airport and arriving at my destination my clothes would be all messed up inside. That's horrible. I'm looking to buy a small but large enough Samsonite one

To update this one in case anyone is interested:

I decided to get by Suit bag with the broken handle fixed. $45.

I liked the bag too much.

I also bought a Swiss Army bag for my small secondary roller bag. Guaranteed for life. Smooth.

(Plus the lady at this independent luggage store loved me so much she gave me a big discount. G Tip: Always go independent and neighborhood. F*ck the malls and big corporations).

With both together (Big for Custom Suits and Shirts, and small for shoes etc) I can roll 6 weeks fresh to def and trade body blows with any top Playboy in any city in the world and come out on top.

My thoughts on Tumi:

The stuff is dope. Expensive. But makes you look like too much of a heist target.

I thought I would hit this thread again since I was at TJ Maxx a few days ago and noticed some really good luggage, including spinners for about $79-$100 and garment bags for like $50 all from London Fog, Samsonite etc.. to Swiss Gear. Will likely pick up a garment bag and a heavy one for my trip to Asia and Europe.

I just picked up on of these for medium length trips:

http://shop.samsonite.com/Samsonite-Blac...salesrank#

It will easily fit two suits in the bottom compartment. The top has room for everything else, including at least one pair of shoes. It's pretty functional. The big plus is not needing a suit bag, cutting my luggage count to 1. It gets real old sometimes carrying around two checked bags and a carry on.

I have a Tumi Alpha carry-on that's absolute gold. I can get a week's worth down in it and thus never ever have to linger at my arriving airport or worry about meddlesome baggage handlers out for my Ermenegildo Zegna shirts. It will set you back a cool $600 but you basically have a lifetime guarantee where they will switch wheels or lining for you if you pop by their stores.

There's nothing practical or suave about those. With their now overexposed brand they are to me quite vulgar. Heck, you need a butler to lug them around and while that might reek of money it also telegraphs a lack of taste.

To me, Hermes is to this day the only real luxury brand in apparel that hasn't sold out. All the rest have splashed their logos all over or tarnished their brand with cheaper collections.

Slightly OT, mea culpa.

This is old school and reminiscent of the days when travel was a luxury. Truly classy though. Seems a bit small though. Opinions?

This is gorgeous but I've heard they're enforcing weight limits more strictly ( maybe due to gas prices) .

Any word on getting dinged for too-heavy suitcases?

A good suit is made of high quality wool that can handle heat. The suit itself is generally not the problem. it's the shirt underneath.

I have 2 Tumi rollers. One is like 24" and is good for short trips, the other is bigger and I use it if I will be gone longer than one month. Both are durable, have lots of pockets, and have a attachment to hang and fold suits. The larger Tumi was $750, I have never seen any discounts on them.

Bro, have a look at this:

Samsonite also make a decent bag, so it comes down to what finish you prefer with them. Reason I like the travelpro is that it has a few extra pouches here and there. Ill spend on clothes, but I wont spend big on luggage. Best to keep your bags as average as you can to lower the risk of theft IMO.

G,

I would highly recommend this exact LV garment bag. Yes it's expensive, but it will never break. It holds suits and shirts with ease. Not to mention women like the pattern.

Easy
