I am no expert. But my take on things is this.

If you think you are 20% overdressed - the chicks you are trying to impress will still feel you are 20% underdressed.

Also - get cool shoes and a cool watch. I have had a number of chicks tell me these things are critical when they are checking out a guy.

Your body type is identical to my younger brother. Indeed - your second photo is very similar to what he wears as well - I literally did a double take to see if it wasn't him.

With skinny guys I always think it is best if they beef up a little by wearing layers of clothes. A cool T shirt, a shirt on top of that, and then a jacket on top of that. And maybe some kind of scarf - if it is cold. The scarf is not something you would wear indoors - but it is a nice prop to have to hand in the winter months when you are going from club to club.

And maybe a chain round your neck - it is kinda' gay. But chicks like 'em. My older brother has a Nazi Eagle chain. I dunno' where he got it - and you would never guess it is a Nazi chain. But it is a funny back story to have when chicks ask you about it. There is no swastika in the chain - so it is pretty subtle shit. He is married now - so maybe I will ask him to give it to me...

Also - if you are wearing three layers of clothes. Make sure on of those layers is LOUD or striking. You don't want to go over the top by having everything you wear look crazy. But a pretty rad looking T Shirt looks cool when it is covered up with some more neutral coloured shirts and jackets. It makes for a nice contrast - and shows the right amount of character to stop you from coming across like a generic beta schlub.

Just my 2 cents...

That is just my opinion. No doubt you will get much better informed advice from the others on here.

Also - definitely not keen on the shoes/trainers you have. Sorry. It is a shame - but the sad (or cool?) thing is that women actually pay more attention to what you wear than they do to how you look.

Lastly - you look very similar to my younger brother. And for guys with that sort of look - you probably look better with a bit of beard growth. Since otherwise you are indanger of looking a lot younger than you really are...

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I definitely want to get a cool watch. Some good general points but have you got any more specific recommendations on clothes?

And spread those legs, man.

Occupy more space, throw in some contrapposto now and then.

Never wear a crew neck again. Get v-neck soft cotton t's in a variety of colors, preferably a low v-neck. Also get white v-neck undershirts and keep your button down shirts unbuttoned at the top.

How old are you/ what age range are you in? I like this clothing, but it obviously depends on age.

Buying clothes is a pain. You just have to hit the stores and see what catches you.

I still feel every guy should have some piece of clothing on them which is a bit edgy or cool looking. Often if this is a T Shirt it is the sort of thing you might come across in a charity shop.

When I make an effort to buy clothes - I always get stopped by strangers over the next couple of months for compliments. I always have a way of finding that rare/unusual thing which stands out or looks good.

With the internet around - I would try and make use of that. The internet makes it so much easier to buy cool shit.

One that worked well for me in the past are T Shirts of the Zapatista rebel group.

You always get some chick who went travelling around the world who wants to come talk to you about the plight of the EZLN in Mexico.

And it is still alternative enough looking to be a conversation starter if a chick asks you about it. Or they will just assume it is some cool band they have never heard of...

The important point - is that if you get a cool T Shirt - it has to be bright. Do not get it if it is white, black or grey.

Cool - bright - T Shirts look great when buried away under more boring looking shirts and jackets.

Anyway - finding cool T Shirts is the easiest thing in the world. And they are cheap. I could find a hundred cool T Shirts on the internet in less than an hour.

Still - I fucking hate high street shopping. It is incredibly tiring having to walk round. And in the UK - it is really hard to find cool looking clothes that a hundred other guys are not also wearing.

Also - avoid T shirts with pictures of hot chicks on them. This seems to becoming more popular over time. But - it is too much of a risk. And the younger you are (as is the case with you) - if you have porn type images on your T Shirt it just suggests you have an addiction to pornhub.

Cardguy

PS I like the black jacket you have in your first photo. I would combine it with some of the ideas I have mentioned to get something cool going on.

Another thing - jeans are a problem these days. Everybody wears them - and unless you are a cool mofo - chicks tend to be lead into thinking you are a beta schlub because you are wearing jeans like everyone else in the club. As such - I would experiment with other types of trouser-wear which are not jeans... Equally - look out for jeans which have some other effect going on on top of the denim. I used to have some cool ripped light blue jeans - which had neon yellow fadings around each of the rips.

In everything you buy - look for the little detail which other guys overlook - and every girl will notice...

Thanks for the advice. I should definitely be wearing v necks do go under the shirts. Do you think they look better under leather jackets/undone shirts too?

I'm 19, I don't want to look any younger than that though I still want to get with older girls.

PS I used to have a Zapatista T Shirt in the same colour as the one above - but with the following logo on it:

Anyway - if you do this. Don't do the Che Guevara. That is too unoriginal to impress anyone...

And don't have any T shirts of bands or funny/witty comments. That is gay as shit.

And T Shirts with random numbers on them - like the one you have? No way, man. That is wrong on every level. Sorry dudez! :-)

Skinny jeans make your feet look big. Generally that is something to be avoided.

But that is just a casual observation - it depends on the overall look etc.

PS A great place to get cool T Shirts is when you are abroad.

Lose the hipster look. Dress more sophisticated.

Get a lot more cotton shirts. H&M has cotton shirts for very cheap prices.

Your jeans are fine; they're neither baggy nor too skinny. Get more hard denim jeans, though. Check out Nudie Jeans, Diesel, or if you are looking for relatively cheap, high quality jeans, then check out Superdry, which is my personal favorite. (Levi's are fine, too)

As for jackets(depending on the season), get light bombers or leather jackets. Or if you want to step it up a notch, wear a peacoat. I got this one back in January and the few times I've worn it, I received a lot of compliments.

I tend to wear a lot of Polo shoes. I have about four pairs and they always complement my outfits, especially if I'm going out on a casual date. Subscribe to Esquire or GQ and look at what the celebrities are wearing and make changes to your wardrobe accordingly.

Some more very good pointers, thanks!

In everything you buy - look for the little detail which other guys overlook - and every girl will notice... - great advice. I think this applies to accessories too which I'll have to try and work out a couple of cool understated accessories.

Yeah that number t shirt is a bit dodgy.

Your button up blue shirt. DO NOT wear crew neck tshirts under button up shirts.
Same goes with the sweater, you are getting turkey neck with your tshirt.

My opinion, get the absolute minimum you need right now.

You're 19. Put time, effort, and money (I don't mean dump a bunch of money on supplements) into putting on muscle. That way you don't have to completely re do your wardrobe when you put some weight on. Trust me, it is a pain.

You can make a lot more things look a lot better when you are in shape.

Get so jacked that chicks don't even bother looking at your watch or shoes.

the-dream, try to tuck your shirt into the pants. I only started doing it recently, but I wish someone had told me about this earlier.

Which of these two guys looks better?

Correct, the one on the right. You have a slim body type, so that will suit you, too. If you tuck a shirt into your pants, you MUST wear a belt, though, everything else looks ridiculous. Try to match the color of your belt to your shoes. In your case, get a brown belt.

Yeah - hard jeans is where it is at. Thanks to the earlier poster for that. I didn't realise that is what they are called these days - but if I had the word to mind I would have recommended that as well.

Look in every fashion magazine - those guys are rocking the hard jeans look.

Like I say - open your eyes and look around. A great idea is to pay attention on your next night out. What are the uncool guys hunched in a corner wearing? Number T shirts generally. And whatever esle catches you eye with the beta schlubs. Learn from them - and never wear those sorts of clothes again.

Equally - what cool clothes are other guys wearing? Look around, get inspired and then rip them off. You can get so many great ideas by just checking out the cool guys in a club.

I think with skinny guys like yourself - you have to try and stand out. I would consider a fancy haircut with some kind of pink highlights.

If what you are rocking doesn't make you uncomfortable - then you are too comfortable in your look for other chicks to notice.

I dunno' - the hair thing is a separate thing altogether. It is just that you look like my younger brother and from going out with him a lot I know exactly the sort of pitfalls that skinny guys with a 'Big Bang Theory' look going on can fall into. And the main one is not taking enough chances.

Before you decide what to buy. You have to really think hard about exactly how far you want to push things. The only thing holding you back is your own sense of 'Can I get away with this?' After a couple of weeks - whatever look you are rocking will feel like a second skin. Just don't do it all at once. Slip into it - with one major change at a time...

Top three favorite colors for women are blue, purple and green.

Worst three are brown, orange and grey.

Contrast with your complexion, IMHO, is as important as fit.

If two out of every three items match a base or accent color, you're golden.

I'd add a MTM navy blazer and a $8 pocket square if I were you, but you are free to do what you want.

A suit would be overkill.

The blazer and pocket square?

Well - we need second opinions on this. The OP is British (as am I).

I am worried that the blazer/pocket square combo is a bit much for UK wimminz? Unless you are already rich or a celebrity or something.

But - I am open minded - would be curious what other UK guys feel? My inclination is to avoid that. I worry this is something that might fly in the US but not the UK.

We need more opinions on that one.

A blazer or sport coat will give him a bit of bulk and flatter him.

The counter to this is that it will make him come off as too posh in certain environments and work against him.

Truth is environmental.

The dude above's outfit could be acceptable because he is high contrast like user the-dream.

I am all about mixing styles.

Bright colours and neutal colours.

Formal and informal.

What would a blazer with a pocket square look like over a bright T shirt?

I don't know for sure - but it might be worth looking into? [Image: undecided.gif]

@germanico - I don't think the OP's style is cool. And I don't mean that in an offensive way. I think he looks fine and all. But you just have to realise that if you are not in the top 1-5% when it comes to your look - you will be invisible to a chick.

So sure the OP might look cool and everything. But if it is not at the level of the top 5% he may as well make no effort whatsoever since the result will be the same.

"Good enough" is never good enough when it comes to the ladies. If you see what I'm saying?

Chateau Heartiste/Roissy - the legenday Game writer made the following good point.

Don't look at what fashion models are wearing in magazines. Just get a celeb magazine and check out what actual celebrities who are actually getting laid with actual hot chicks out here in the actual real world (and not in the pages of a magazine) are wearing.

Something you will notice with celebs is they are layered like shit. Some kind of knitted hat, shades, chain, belt, watch, bag, coat, shirt, jacket, t-shirt, scarf, some kind of big tie, cigarette, lighter - sometimes you cannot make them out because they are buried under so much shit.

My older brother has the coolest leather brown boots. They are big as fuck - but not long. So - they don't make your feet look long.

I should post a picture up of them - but that is another great suggestion.

I can't find a picture of the ones he wears. But this is the sort of style I have in mind.

http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=ht...84&ndsp=24 [these are the closest to the ones my older brother wears]

And with these sorts of boots - they can actually look even cooler when they become old and scruffy. But that is something you have to watch out for. Since girls tend to have a fetish for clean clothes which are new looking. Still - my brother's boots are old as fuck and - to my eyes - look better than ever.
