I'm curious. How many guys here on the forum have a piercing? What do you guys think about a male with a piercing?

Lately ive been considering getting a small golden piercing on my left ear but I'm not sure if it will fit my style then again I dont want to look like some fag walking down the street.

I'm 19 so ehh I'm not sure what you guys think..

^ Why do you want to get the piercing?

9 times out of 10 most guys end up looking less masculine with piercings.

Yes if you like being a swagfag or hipster and like girls attracted to those two. I had my ears pierced for a year (spring break) and do not regret doing it but it did not fit my persona.

I'd never get a piercing. I also don't have any tattoos, and the only jewelry I wear is a watch. So take that for what it's worth.

I wouldn't automatically assume you're a fag if I saw you with a piercing, but IMO it just doesn't work for most guys. A piercing isn't a standalone thing, but a part of your overall style. It also obviously depends on what the piercing is.

The question is, given your overall style (if you have one), is the piercing congruous or does it look out of place? Does it look like you're desperately trying to show some free spirit in your khakis and OCBD shirt while you work in your cubicle, or are you a metal guitarist to whom piercings and tattoos are as natural as breathing? If you're a hipster, I'm pretty sure piercings are part of the required uniform too.

Also, just because a piercing matches your style it doesn't mean your style is good.

Picture what you would've looked like 20 years ago if you followed the faddish crap of the times: Mohawks? Mullets? Acid-washed jeans?

Now project this 20 years hence. What are you gonna shake your head at 20 years from now, looking back?

The difference is that hair grows back. Piercings may leave semi-permanent reminders. Tattoos are another story: permanent bellbottoms.

Skip the fads and stick to something timeless. Or just invent your own style if you have the balls.

I used to have some piercing when I was blue pill. I began to box and remove them. Best decision of my life !

I have both ears pierced, just with studs. Girls take notice and I've received compliments on them. Some guys pull it off, others there is no way.

Like stated above, they're probably the easiest body modification, they grow back in if you don't like it. It is a little bit more from the "mystery/Neil Strauss pea cocking" era that is dying out. I do agree that clean cut will always be in style though.

Had snake bites and mohawk mentioned above....i was a skate punk when I was younger. My clothing style changed, but the younger girls loved the hawk and piercings, total peacocking move.

Now I dress sharp, short hair with fade and a beard.

Ears are okay, I've never had them. I wouldn't recommend facial piercings much, I'd suggest facial hair.

This is why I never got into tattoos. I rock a mohawk, but I can shave it off whenever I want. Thanksgiving, Christmas, stuff like that. When I have a job that requires me to be in front of people I can lose the mohawk and look like a normal dude.

Some guy with gauges, a neck tattoo, and other stupid permanent modifications is going to look like a freak all the time.

If you're trying to stand out for girls just stick with an edgy haircut. I've banged girls because of my mohawk. I've also landed some really good jibs because I looked "clean-cut."

Do something that you can cover up when you need too. No sense in limiting your potential on the off chance that you might bang a few extra chicks.

I have earrings (used to be Diamonds but I'm now rocking fake black gauges because I honestly don't want to open up my ear).

I can honestly pull off the good guy look or the 'bad boy' look depending on how I style my hair/dress.

In my opinion earrings on men look often pretty gay.

I had my left upper cartilage pierced for about a year. I took it out in November but am considering putting it back in sometime in the next month or two.

I have the look to pull it off from what I'm told. Although I'm 21 I still can't grow a fucking beard and would describe my complexion as "boyish good looks". This makes the piercing fit a little better overall and seem a bit more innocent.

Well I'm considering getting like a little golden stud earing. Its like a ball. It was popular back in the 80s and in my opinion it looks cool. But then again I dont wanna look like a bitch. I guess ima try it out and see if I enjoy it and can pull more or less chicks but thanks for the input. P.S if you see a fag with a golden stud on the left ear walking around L.A it might be me. Lol..

I work in central London (old established professional firm), an the wearing of an earring is not really the done thing.

Although approx 10 years ago I had a frenum ring fitted. Yup, that's a cock piercing. Never had a complaint, recieved lots of complimentary comments and there's definitely a curiosity element from the girls.

^^ +1 I had a frenum piercing when I was 19.

Word would get around in my social circle and chicks would ask to see it. I ended up showing it to a lot of people. Also got to have a lot of girls to play with it so they could have new experience.

I no longer have it, but now i have used the line 'do you want to see the scar?' to get new girls to put their face right in front of my penis (when subject of body mod arises) , then you know what happens.

They love(d) it because i seem like a shy, reserved, guy, then they find out yours truly had a dick piercing and their 'freak flag' goes off.

of course some girls would think it's weird.

also, i had 3 microdermal anchors over my sternum wjen i was 20... lost 2, still have the top one and that makes for much interesting conversations. i'll be talking to a girl and then she'll notice the bling under the v-neck - curiosity is piqued because i just don't "seem like the type" (i have heard this many times) and they either a) think its weird and want to know more about me or b) think its weird and dont want to know more about me

never have i been big on earrings or facial piercings. even my dermal is a little weird for me at 27.

When ai was like 16 to 20 i had my ears pierced. It used to be fairly common for guys of various styles however i rarely see it now these days. Back in the day i had a little bit of a wigger style which i laugh at now but that may also be why i had them pierced. No longer as it doesnt fit my style, can get pulled out in a scuffle and i think looks less masculine

Several female friends of mine had some piercings done and right after they did it, I told them that they would regret it in a couple of years. Guess what, I was right. Now, one of them is running around with a hole in her cheek and the other with two little ones between her eyes. Looks pretty fucking stupid.

Even worse are those meat tunnels in the ears...

I like piercings but wouldn't have them (I prefer to be understated). A friend of mine has two small segment rings just cuffing the ear in one ear lobe - it suits him and girls open him on it regularly. I do think that piercing jewellery (titanium segment rings, barbells etc.) look more masculine than silver / gold jewellery though.

To the poster above, don't the holes close up on faces? I know with earlobes, even gauged lobes close up if they are less than a 2 gauge.

On women I like ear piercings (as long as they don't have too many, or bad taste in jewellery), and and even noses on certain women, but anything else puts me right off.

I used to have 3mm tunnels in both ears

Look excellent with spiked-up hair

Don't go any bigger than that IMO

Also, they've completely healed, for what it's worth

I've got a curved barbell rook piercing, pretty discrete when you want it to be. I get reactions when I get my hair cut short, otherwise no one sees it unless I intend them to. Won't get another one though.
