Planning a Visit to Phuket

Hello, gents!

I'm planning on visiting Phuket for about 12 days sometime at the end of the year with my wing in an attempt to both avoid the cold season as much as I can, and spread some good fun to some of those asian ladies I hear about in Thailand. We haven't bought the plane tickets and hotel reservations haven't been made yet, and I was wondering if you could drop some knowledge on me about the place.

Would it be worth a visit or is it indeed as bad as I've read in an older thread?

Cheers!

Hey man. I'm living here now, and will be through March. I live like a 12 minute scooter ride from Patong where all the craziness is. TBH it's probably the most exciting place to be in Phuket if you plan on partying a lot at least...... Since you're going to be traveling, I'd recommend it for a few days or so, and be sure to go to Phi Phi Island, it's slammed pack with tourists but the beach bars are a lot of fun. From there, you can go to Krabi, another decent spot I've heard...but haven't been there yet.

I'd really just recommend hopping around Thailand.

Phuket right now is more or less my home stay place, where I travel out from here to other SEA places.

It's a fun vibe. Got the mountains and the beach. There's fun things to do besides just going to get hammered and chasing tail. I like it here. If you are coming out shoot me a PM

Phuket is great fun, as mentioned Patong is the main party spot but there are a few other places around the island with different vibes but Patong is the party central, nice beaches on that side and day game is certainly an option, you'll get large groups that can be approached pretty casually on the main beach.

Patong itself is basically one epic street of clubs and bars that you can pinball down, you'll get harassed by people hawking all kinds of things and ladyboys but as long as you aren't stupid you shouldn't have any issues on the main strip and can have a lot of fun. There are a lot of themed bars if you like a particular type such as Scandinavian, Latin and the like.

There are also bars on the main strip of the beach and the street parallel to it at the other end of Bangalore road (epic street mentioned above).

It has also become very Russian in between my last couple of trips there so there are a lot of them around to target, unfortunately most are families or couples rather than groups of girls, they're possible just not common. Tough eggs to crack but worth the effort as far as attractiveness goes. Also a lot of Chinese tourists but it's more the older crowd doing their follow the flag thing.

Also recommend a trip to Phi Phi, it's backpacker central so if that's not your crowd then probably blow through for a couple of days just to check it out because it's a beautiful place worth seeing outside of game reasons. If backpacker/beach bars is your thing then stay here longer, it's one of the bigger party islands in the world and it's full of talent. Logistics can be a bit of a pain and make sure you stay in the main town as otherwise you can get stuck taking long tail boats into town as there aren't a lot of cars/taxis around, logistically you just need to find a decent place that's a short walk.

Krabi was ultra chilled when I was there 10 months ago, lot of reggae style bars along the beach but it's a cool place, really chill and while I didn't head out there for a party there was a lot of talent on the beaches during the day. Can't really help on the logistics side of things, it's an hour or so from Phi Phi by ferry and the Railay beach area was pretty active when I was passing through.

Samui is also awesome and if the Phi Phi style suits you than the Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan is just absurd debauchery. Will probably want to fly there if you consider it but if the Full Moon Party is on at the same time and that's your style, it's probably worth it, make sure you get accommodation asap though or you'll miss out and have to do the boat trip in and out which is a pain in the ass. To be fair though, between Phi Phi and Patong you'll kill 12 days easily.

Phuket is actually an island... Patong is a city... and yes this one is total debauchery but if you rent a bike and travel a bit around the area there are much nicer places to visit, Karon,Paradise, Nai Harn, Rawai beach, Iguana beach bar, etc

Personally I only go there for Russians. There used to be a single club dedicated to them called KGB but it closed 2 years ago when the RUB got rekt and Russians stopped traveling. Instead there is a lounge place filled with french arabs, not sure why.

So imo currently the top night life spot is (you must be logged-in the forum):

I`m semi-jacking this one because i have a tinder date tomorrow in phuket. Late day/early afternoon.
Anything worth seeing/doing on the island?
Been to koh samui/krabi, might stay in phuket a couple days before bouncing back to bangkok..

I would skip Phuket. There are far better options in Thailand for beaches and island, and for debauchery. Phuket is a mafia ran overpriced shit hole. I am never one of those pretentious douches that say ''Thats not the reaaal Thailand'', but honestly in this case Phuket is like the Cancun of Thailand.

Everyone talks shit on Phuket, but I think Kata beach, just a few miles south of Patong beach, is really fucking nice. Karon beach and other shit around there was nice too. Patong is what it is, but you don't have to go too far south or north of Patong to find some really nice beaches. Cruising around there on mopeds, going beach to beach, was fun.

I’m not usually a massive fan of Patong any other time of the year, and despise the P4P scene there, but how do you guys think it will be over Christmas/New Year if you pray on tourist bitches? I feel like there would be a lot of girls for the taking over that period for a party enthusiast/night gamer, and a boat load of Russians.

The spectacle of Phuket is a nice place to see one time but I'll never go back on principle. Those scum can go f themselves.

As Kdog said, "Phuket is a mafia ran overpriced shithole."
