Eastern European party ski resort intel?

I've heard that winter ski resorts can be very good for picking up girls, even if one doesn't ski,the social vibe and nightlife at these places can be worth it in itself. Does anyone know about good places in Eastern Europe for this?

I've been skiing in Western/Central Europe - in France (Val d’Isere), Italy (Sauze d’Oulx) and Austria (Mayrhofen) - and in my experience going skiing to pick up girls is an awful idea. The resorts are usually 80/20 male. Of the girls there, a lot of them have been brought by their boyfriends. And in addition, a good chunk of the remaining girls who ARE single won't even be staying out late or getting too drunk, because they'll be getting up at 8am every day to make the most of the limited daylight (and to get fresh snow).

Skiing holidays are great fun...for the skiing. But its really not a good gaming holiday in my experience.

edit: sorry just re-read the 'Eastern' part of the thread title. From what I've read here the American and Japanese ski resorts are apparently very similar in demographic/vibe. I'd be extremely surprised if Eastern Europe was any different from this trend. Given the more traditional gender roles in Eastern Europe I'd actually expect it to be even more coupley, with the female population being almost entirely women brought by their wealthy boyfriends/husbands.

Should have said skii resorts known for young partiers in the title of my threat, like Ischgl in Austria for example. Do you know anything about this? A friend mentioned Spindl in the Czech Republic being a good place for partying, girls, people going crazy.

You should do fine at places such as Ischgl, though you'll likely run into the same people again at night.

Personally, the whole après ski and getting wasted in trashy bars in ski clothing is not my scene, but some of my friends consider these skiing resorts paradise on earth.

I can't speak to Ischgl as I've never been. Mayrhofen in Austria is generally very highly regarded for its nightlife in Austria though, and it was how I've described above. The aprés-ski is very good fun drinking with your friends, but it just isn't a good scoring environment all things considered.

Is the same true you think for Eastern Europe as well? It might be good to have a ''isolated'' in with social circle game since I do know some locals who might go there. But if there is enough BS might just be better to go to the cities themselves,my thoughts were for getting laid it might be a way to bypass some hoops as it is kinda a semi house party.

Bad Gastein is full of swedish chicks (or other scandinavians) working as ski bums and austrians from Vienna/Salzburg.

Are you implying Bad Gastein has skiing that isn't a sausage-fest?

Genuinely curious, as someone who has skied three continents, and has found skiing weather to be warmer than the ratios.

For picking up girls, I'd say skip Austria and fly straight to Bulgaria. Two resorts I have been to and can recommend are Pamporovo and Borovets. Cheaper (hotels, food, drinks, etc.) than central Europe, for sure easier to game girls day and night.
Give it a try.

What was your experience with this? I've heard good things about some places in Romania as well

Check when the mid-semester breaks are for the European colleges. I don't know if it's the case for mainland Europe, but when I was at university in the UK lots of people would go skiing at the mid-semester break, the "reading week" or at the Easter holidays (Spring Break).

Most (if not all) large universities will have an official ski trip, often run by the "Snowsports Society" of that uni. Some of the trips are huge - my uni had up to a hundred people going each winter.
