Married couples are now a MINORITY in UK as the number of single Britons soars by a quarter

Quote:Quote:

Britain is becoming of singletons, partners and co-habiters, as the number of people choosing not to marry has rocketed by 3.6million in just a decade, according to new figures.

The final results from the 2011 census from across the UK show that more than a third of the population - around 17.8million people - now class themselves as single.

This means the number of British singletons has increased by a quarter - while the number of divorcees has risen by a fifth to 4.5million people.

Is Britain the canary in the coal mine for the rest of the developed world? Will co-habitation and random siring of offspring become the new normal? It sure seems like it and feels like it. Marriage is being phased out like an old piece of technology.

What do the members in Britain have to say about this?

I believe the USA passed this threshold about 5 or 6 years ago. So the same thing here.

Women don't need men in their lives, they just vote for big brother govt. to replace men. Men never needed women, and now a large % of women have nothing to offer.

If the generation is named after a woman who looks like that, I can see why men are choosing not to get married.

This comment explains a valid reason for the decrease in marriage: "The number of absolutely ghastly women out there makes a gentleman's prospects of a suitable match virtually impossible nowadays

Oh, and this one: "To the 30 something 'girls' asking where have all the good men gone now that they're ready to settle down after 15+ years of riding the carousel - why would the quality of man you consider acceptable buy what for years was given away free? I hope you enjoy cats."

The hamsters hamsted as a result.

I think Australia passed this 1/3rd mark 5 years ago.

I've been looking for a new apartment in a SWPL young professional area and have noticed that compared to just 2-3 years back, the number of 1 and 2-bedroom apartments has increased 10-fold, with more being built every month. I've also been looking at travel ads (planning some trips for the next couple of years) and most of them are now for either groups of friends - male or female - or solos.

Not only marriage is low, even cohab is low too from what I can observe.

Heres an article by Peter Hitchens on the rise of fatherless families in Britain a very interesting read for anyone interested at the state of the family in Britain. His views are very similar to here on the manosphere. Here are some quotes from it

"And as we soppily mark ‘Father’s Day’ with cards, socks, sentimentality and meals out, we should remember that in almost all cases the absent parent is the father. "

"The cost of our wild, unprecedented national experiment in fatherlessness is now £49 billion each year, more than the defence budget. This figure, currently costing each taxpayer £1,541 per year, is rising all the time, and has gone up by almost a quarter since 2009. The money partly goes on handouts and housing which an old-fashioned family with a working father would not have needed. Partly it goes on trying to cope with the crime, disorder, truancy, educational failure, physical and mental illness and general misery which are so much more common among the fatherless than in those from stable homes"

"Girls with absent fathers (according to studies in the USA and New Zealand) have teenage pregnancy rates seven or eight times as high as those whose fathers have stayed in meaningful touch with them."

"Meanwhile men have learned enough about the divorce courts to know that marriage is a big risk. If it goes wrong, they are the ones who have to move out, and yet they will still have to pay. "

If you enjoyed the article check out his blog its mainly for a british audience but he has a lot of articles that would interest people in general.

I do wonder how much longer the western world can afford this failed experiment of socialist feminism.

Unfortunately they probably can float the debt for long enough that none of us get to enjoy a society where women are finally held accountable. But it is coming.

There is more than just socialism here. There is also unspoken assumptions about the nature of childrearing and the nature of women that go unchallenged.

Why do women get automatic custody of the children?
Why are people allowed to divorce for frivolous reasons?
Why do women get so much fucking money in divorces?

I doubt even Karl Marx would have supported some of the conclusions that the average feminist supports today.
