Seeing as how el mech isn't a regular in this thread, does anyone know about filing title liens to make money? What kind of experience or specialized knowledge one might lead? How much one might reasonably expect to make, the time involved? How one might go about getting clients?

You can learn how to do it from a tow yard or junkyard.Or find someone and pay them.

The sky is the limit on what you can make because many times people or banks don't show up for the car/boat/RV etc and you can buy them to resale..

As far as clients you can make a website or go knock on doors at storage places, shops, dealerships, marinas and put ads on CL or even rent a yard and store stuff then do your own.

Thanks for the reply. I've been compiling a list of every storage lot, mechanics shop, and car dealership in my county. I'm probably going to incorporate under a somewhat generic name, build a website, then start cold calling, sending mailers, or knocking on doors - perhaps all three.

The actual process of filing the lien looks relatively simple - prepare an affidavit, have the mechanic/storage operator/dealership sign and date the affidavit, then file at the county courthouse. Then either pay a process server to deliver the paper, deliver it oneself, or send the paperwork via certified mail.

Tonight I'm going to search for any local lien filing services, then call them tomorrow afternoon asking for a quote about how much they charge to file a lien. Should give me an idea of how much can be charged in this area.
I think once you get licensed you may have access to the DMV computer the guy here does.

I haven't seen anything about a requirement to having a specific license. Can you elaborate?

Please, when you get a chance, ask him if there are any specific licenses required. I want to learn all about this but the amount of information available online about filing liens as a profitable business is almost non-existent. Anything else you can tell me that's relevant?

Oh, and when you get a chance, shoot me a text message. I boughtt a new phone a while back and haven't got your number in the new one.

Found a decent site where you can sell your college notes/study guides etc. on specific courses you took at your university.

While this isn't a huge money maker, it only took a half hour to create an account and upload my notes and guides. I've made ~$25 off this so far. This is really only a short term money making opportunity as your offerings become less relevant and applicable to the course over time.

Make $1000 bonus as a Lyft driver after giving ONE ride by 3/5/15: http://therewardboss.com/2015/02/26/1000...week-only/

Unfortunately, I'm flying out to ATL tomorrow and am going to be without a car for the whole week, so this doesn't look feasible for me, but I urge anyone with some free time and a sedan to take advantage of this fantastic offer.

Looked into the guts of it, and it requires jumping through some hoops, but overall, you're basically making over $900 off of a few hours investment. Essentially, to qualify you need a 4 door car that's 2001 or newer and clean. After that, just read the info above on the link. Good luck, hope you guys make some money. If you're gonna do it, get on it quick, as the background check, test drive, etc all take a few days and you have to get your ride in by March 5.

Here is my hustle. Which is something I've been doing during college.

1. Inflatable Housing Bouncers for kids

Buy two of these motherfuckers which is what I did. They would cost you about $2,500 or so each depending on size. I rent them out to parties every weekend in the summer. I actually just put one up earlier this morning. I charge $200 bucks per house at a party so that's an extra $400 dollars each Saturday off of these. They are extremely popular with Hispanics.

The downside is that its mostly a summer thing so I don't get calls during the winter here in Chicago.

2. Your own ready to go Taco station at Hispanic parties

It sounds funny and weird, but its one of the easiest and simplest things in the world to do. I learned from a cousin who makes a killing out of this.

Invest in a movable taco stove. It doesn't even have to be that big, just as long as the meat fits.

Something more or less like this:

If its a party of 50, I charge $400 bucks, so about 8 bucks per person. Beforehand I buy the meat, tortillas, oil, and vegetables. After I have bought everything I gain around a $250 dollar profit. If its 100 people I charge 7 dollars per person and gain more profit.

Hispanics love renting a taco guy for their parties.

From both these hustles during the summer, there are times where I take home about $900 on a good day.

In the future I want to expand this a little further, hopefully buy two more of the bouncers and have my little brother help me with putting them up and buy another taco stove and hire a taco guy.

Another thing I was thinking was joining one of those cheesy Mexican bands that play at parties every weekend. I learned to play the trumpet in High School and college and there are many bands that hire guys that know the trumpet or even a mariachi band. Those guys make about $300 dollars each for four hours on a Saturday.

There's money to be made out there, people just have to put in the work.

1. Sign up for all "applicable" class action settlements: http://www.Topclassactions.com is the definitive resource for finding information on class action lawsuits throughout the US. Needless to say, you're only supposed to sign up for the ones that pertain to your situation, but I'm sure many of you are cosmopolitan gentlemen and thus eligible for most of these payouts. I know I am. You'd be very surprised to see what some of these dish out! My biggest check was for $1800 for a racial discrimination settlement against Abercrombie, and I routinely get $200+ checks from constantly doing these settlements. Even the $15-$20 settlements are often very easy and paperwork takes 2 minutes to complete. I keep a steady rotation of these going, as the checks usually take 6-12 months to get paid out, and they keep on coming in like clockwork month after month. Annually, I think I average around $1500-$2500 a year from these settlement checks and this is the easiest source of income I make.

I can't believe I actually looked at this.

The Maximally Pathetic Schema: Xs who labor to convince Ys that “I’m not one of those despicable Zs!,” when in fact it is obvious to the meanest intelligence that the Ys see no difference between Xs and Zs, don’t care anyway, and would love to throw both Xs and Zs into a gulag.

For class action lawsuits: will your name be published online if you join a class action investigation or try to claim money from a class action settlement?

I haven't seen mine published anywhere since starting. Keep in mind, most class actions cover THOUSANDS for members....it would be silly to publish all the names, and would serve 0 purpose.

Most of these will wind up with you getting a check for 0.07 cents that you probably will never even deposit however there are some decent offers on here for things I actually have bought and some actually payout big. For my car for example the manufacturuer lied about MPG so for the life of my car I get some amount of money per mile driven. I still havn't brought my car to the dealership but when I eventually do will probably wind up being over $500.

Are you hispanic yourself? Reason I ask, my girls is Mexican and no way her family would ever hire a white guy to make them tacos. That said we do have our favorite taco truck near my house, the guys al pastor tacos are the best I've ever eaten anywhere. We have hired him to bring his truck out to some large family parties and funny thing he also rents bounce houses.

As far as side hustles I just started ordering hover boards from China and selling them in my city. I'm getting more requests faster than I can get the boards in. If you live in a city like Vegas where you could ride them around in the street around crowds you could really make a killing

I received an email about a linkedin class action lawsuit on Friday. At first I thought it was a scam, but it might be worth some $$

I actually subscribe to this website.. not getting rich.. but making a buck or two here and there.. on things like yogurt false advertising, and shit like that. I don't have mesothieloma (sp?) or a prolapsed vagina or any craziness like that so, I can't get the "Big bucks"... Like I said, a few dollars here and there. It is a quick email to read, and parouse through the law suits and see if you qualify for any. The best ones are where you have to show no proof.

I love ebooks as they are one of the true forms of passive income. Now granted if you want to make money you should promote it and continue to do so, however technically speaking you can write it, throw it up on Amazon, never touch it or think about it ever again and when it sells you will get money. Obviously if you want it to sell well you need to promote it outside of Amazon trough social media, blogs, maybe even paid advertising, etc.

If your a total beginner I'd suggest looking into a site called my ebook creator takes care of all the formatting stuff that's difficult for newbies.
