They forgot to mention Mexico City. In fact, Mexico City is already sinking since it was built on lake. The last time I was there I recall seeing a church somewhat sunk into the ground.

Surely the sea level rise is something self-evident, being free for anyone to track without specialized equipment? I don't see how that could be a swindle, no matter its causes.

The answer to whether there is an anthropogenic impact on the planet's climate is easily a yes. The real questions are how much and whether humanity would be better off dealing with those problems later when the Earth is richer and technology is more advanced. For one, carbon dioxide isn't pollution. All of that CO2 that's locked up in fossil fuel reserves was at one time in our atmosphere and life still existed. The Earth isn't going to become Venus. Life will go on long after we're gone(either extinct or out into space).
Now that we have that covered, the reality is that most of the CO2 growth isn't coming from developed nations like the West and Japan. To stop all CO2 growth in the world, we'll have to wait until technology phases out fossil fuels(it's coming, believe it or not), or the scientists and environmentalists will have to persuade the masses in developing regions of the world like China, Africa, and India why they can't have nice things. "Look, you're going to have to keep to medieval farming because if you do try to have a standard of living on par with us, you'll ruin our coastal resort towns." That's really going to go down well.

Except that it isn't steadily rising. In fact it declined in 2010-2011.
Second the chart linked shows a 23 feet rise. Considering sea levels tend to change 1.7 mm per year, it's misinformation and fear mongering.
How about places that should have already sunk: i.e. The Netherlands. If the place is important enough then some kind of barrier will be constructed to keep it from being sunk, like the Dutch have done.
