I went out to Las Vegas in March for a few nights for work.

Now a little bit about myself before I go forward: I have a strong case of social anxiety. For some reason I can't truly go in big groups and feel as if someone isn't thinking something of me. It's something I am working on daily.

Anyway, I stayed off The Strip since that's where my work put me and it was about a $25 cab ride from The Strip at night when I wanted to come back since the hotel had a shuttle to take people to The Strip.

For some reason I enjoyed walking up and down The Strip. It gave me an opportunity to unwind with a few drinks in my hand and just kick it with random people without needing to hit a club. Several nights I met someone walking somewhere and linked up with their group, chatted up a few women (didn't pull any) but had a good time with it.

Didn't hit any clubs, which was fine. I prefer smaller places and actually really enjoyed a spot in Planet Hollywood where you could play beer pong.

My stats from the four days there...

0 cover paid
20 miles walked (not sure, but I did a few laps of The Strip)

Did I have a bad time? No. Las Vegas is what you make of it.

I'm going to against the grain and say that I understand Cap Power's value oriented mentality as you can really go low budget and do all right with the barely 21 and ethnic (read black and latino) crowds. Unfortunately, you have to go low end all the way, and it seemed like instead you tried to cheap out at high end joints, which is a verifiable recipe for disaster.

If you're going to drop $2500 for suites, might as well have looked at it as a sunk cost and just spent another $1000 each and have a proper time of it at first tier venues. Nothing is guaranteed, but you would have been setting yourself up for success much better than what you experienced.

I think most understand that they need to let a guy have a little fun for his money, because if they don't, she's not really going to make much money that night. You have to let him get a little contact. Every place has girls that don't want you to touch them, and they get out-earned by the ones that do. I do this with everyone i meet for the first time. A bit off topic but i did the same damn thing when i went to Cali Colombia. I tracked down WEDO, met with him and immediately? Shut the fuck up and took notes and asked as many questions as I could.I did the same thing with MikeCF had a ton of health questions, i shut the fuck up and just ask as much as i can, I do this SAME routine with everyone find their niche and take notes. If people want to ask me questions i will give them the truth and if that truth is I dunno shit then i'll point them to someone who does.

This is a major tool for guys using the forum. Figure out who knows what cities, PM them. Figure out what guys have strengths in night game? Day Game? Clubs? Bars? Dancing? Juicing? Making Money? Business? Weight Lifting? etc. etc. etc. Find their niche and take notes!

I know a few cities/topics like the back of my hand, i don't need to PM people on NYC/Guadalajara/Rio/Wall Street/Fashion/dancing etc. for example, but if you're venturing into a new area find a real representative and listen to them. This place is generally good with info so simply soak it up, if you don't know a spot then admit it and find the info you need.

I can see how Vegas might be tough if you go in with high expectations. I went once a long time ago and it was one of the best times of my life even though I did everything wrong and was completely solo:

We were working a few hours away from there in brutal winter conditions and my boss was being a prick, wouldn't let me take a Saturday off to head down there so I showed up to work on Friday and pretended to be sick and he had to let me go home early. My bag was packed in the car and I immediately hit the road.

Four hours later I was driving up and down the strip trying to figure out where to stay. I wound up at The Stardust next to Circus Circus, which I think was torn down years ago. I spent the first night drinking beer and doing shots of Wild Turkey and playing blackjack until I was so fucked up the dealer was just playing my hand for me. The last thing I remember was trying to find the elevators. Woke up with all my clothes on and almost $200 in winnings.

I called my boss at the office trailer in the morning and told him I'd been up all night puking. The second night I decided to explore some more and here's where I can understand why Captain Power had a shitty time. I was being cheap, walking everywhere to the point where I was starting to sober up between casinos. I wound up at Caesar's Palace sitting at the bar, more beer and Wild Turkey, trying to hit on chicks and having zero success.

This was probably due to the fact I'm wearing a baggy t-shirt, baggy jeans, and scuffed up shoes and have zero confidence, but the booze lights a fire under me. I start going from one blackjack table to another and wind up at an empty smoking table just shooting the shit with the dealer and betting the table minimum. By the time I get back to the Stardust I'm like hungover and feeling like a loser. I hit the ATM, withdraw the max, lose some more at the tables then sit at the bar playing video blackjack, pounding beers and shots. For some reason I didn't think she was a hooker even though she's wearing skin tight leopard print pants and high heels. We walk arm in arm to the elevator and I can't believe how much my luck has changed until she tells me it's $300 in the elevator up to my room.

Fuck it, at that point I was on autopilot. The only problem is I've only got like $150. I tell her I'll get the rest from the ATM even though I know I can't take anymore out until the next day. Awesome sloppy bang and I'm pretty much passing out totally exhausted and dehydrated while she gets dressed and tells me I have to get her money. I give her all my cash and she's like, no, you still owe me, let's go. I can't even move. She's shaking me, really hard, slaps me a couple times and that really pisses me off. I jump out of bed, rip open the door and start walking naked down the hallway yelling. She catches me halfway to the elevator, drags me back to the room, has my key card to get back in and I collapse back on the bed.

I think she realized security would be all over us if we tried to go downstairs and hit the ATM because I'm a drunken mess and figured it was better to cut her losses because hookers can get in a lot of trouble if they fuck up at the casinos. She leaves and I wake up like six hours later at 5 am and the paranoia really hits me, thinking her pimp's gang is waiting downstairs to kill me when I show my face. I check out and drive four hours home with the worst hangover you can imagine.

I did everything wrong: I was cheap, I stayed at a cheap hotel at the far end of the strip, I walked everywhere, I was dressed like a douchebag, acted like a drunken fool the whole time, spent every dime I had and I fucked a hooker. I realized when I got home that I was a complete idiot and that Vegas was a place that chews up chumps like me and spits them out for breakfast.

I still had an awesome time and I love reading stories about how to do Vegas right. It was also a great lesson in learning that when you start blaming people, places and things for your bad luck it's usually you who is the problem.

Circus Circus does have a lot of children running around, but it was laid back and had a normal priced liquor store right inside the casino.

You want to stay on the strip near the action, not seedy downtown. Circus-Circus is only good for kids and pedophiles!

Resort and gym fees exist at many hotels in many cities. There is already advice on bargains in Vegas.

You are complaining that Vegas has slot machines, sleazy cab drivers, hookers, and desert heat. What's next, gambling?
