The Sexual Harassment Panic

Here is part of an article by John Derbyshire.

My work here aims to be constructive: to apprise the US military of some true facts that might assist them in pushing back against the USC tsunami:

(1) When you want to get anything done, there is much to be said for institutional segregation by sex. An American friend recently asked me how, in spite of having a not very scholarly temperament, I come across as well-educated. I put it down to having attended an all-boys’ school from my 11th to my 18th birthdays. I really don’t see how teenage boys can learn anything with girls in the classroom.

(2) If healthy young adult males and females are assembled in units dedicated to a common purpose, in sex proportions much different from 50-50, and walled off from the general population, then strong sex-related emotions—notably sexual jealousy—will inevitably manifest themselves, corroding unit effectiveness.

(3) Women are strongly attracted to higher-status men. If male officers are in command of units containing women, human nature is placed under severe strain.

(4) Men who join the military are responding to widespread, innate male urges—the urge to break things and kill people, for example. Women who join the military are, by contrast, outliers in their sex. They are eccentric and prone to behave eccentrically. As a designated victim group, they are especially susceptible to the associated pathologies, e.g., victim hoaxes for attention, spite, or cash reward.

(5) The terms “sexual harassment” and “sexual assault” are ambiguous and open to manipulation by unscrupulous lawyers. It is not, for example, the case that sexual intercourse comes in precisely two clearly distinguished varieties, consensual and nonconsensual. There is an entire continuum of consent, ranging from forcible kidnapping/rape, to drunk-and-I-don’t-know-what-I-was-thinking, to licensed connubial bliss. (In this context I once asked a respectably married lady friend whether in her days of premarital freedom she had ever taken a man to bed and regretted it afterwards. She: “Afterwards? How about during?”)

(6) I hate to distract the attention of our senior military brains away from their labors on “Strengthening Military-Civilian Community Partnerships to Respond to Sexual Assault” (page 43) toward the distasteful business of fighting wars, but there may be some of that in our future, and it may bear some hard thinking all by itself—if not perhaps 1,803 pages’ worth.

The Sexual Harassment Panic

I can immediately end 99% of sexual harassment and assault in the military with one simple change: kick all the women out and make the military male-only, like it should be.

They don't like it? Tough shit. They complain about not being able to "serve their country"? Fuck off. You say you want to serve the country? How about you have a few kids and raise them up to be healthy and productive citizens? Did you ever consider serving the country in that manner, the way that women have served their countries for millennia?

No? You say you'd rather go play dress up with G.I. Joe Barbie and run around with the boys, then whine and demand preferential treatment and lowered standards when you can't keep up? And then complain when you get sexually harassed in an environment where you have no business belonging in the first place, since you're nothing but a liability?

It's a joke. It's symptomatic of how ridiculous our society has become. We suddenly have a "sexual assault" epidemic toward women in the military, yet no one even thinks to address the glaring question: why the fuck do we have women in the military anyway? Who ever thought that would be a good idea? Obviously it was a shit idea for a number of reasons, one of which we're seeing here. But instead of addressing the root of the problem (the presence of women themselves) we will instead subject our fighting men to hours of PC sexual assault seminars and give military women more latitude and special privileges.

The Sexual Harassment Panic

I remember a older Pokemon talking about sex in the military when I was doing sales.

She said, "Oh some women just think that giving up the booty means they can be in a higher rank. That only works up to E5 (Sergeant). After that they're pretty much screwed because the higher ranks require testing. And then they want to call it rape."

Pokemon in the military would rather rage war against their own men. And they only do that shit because they aren't getting the "perks" that they want.

Nope.

The Sexual Harassment Panic

I actually had high hopes of joining the armed forces here in Canada. I had all these ideas of being all I can be and seeing what I was made of. A good friend of mine went in right after high school into the infantry. We planned to join together but I wanted to waste a couple more years enjoying the "freedom" of your typical 9-5 for a bit before my life became that of military base life.
He was actually really enjoying it, the physical conditioning, the comradery, etc. That all changed after a few patrols in Afghanistan though. Nothing like having to divide up the female medics gear amongst the other soldiers in the unit to get on with the patrol. He didn't see much combat, and he was thankful for that. Mostly because he knew there was no way she would be able to haul a wounded man behind cover if she couldn't even carry her own gear.
Thankfully my friend only played with the lizards in the town where his base was back in Canada. He had a couple friends caught up in the he said-she said(mostly just she said) of sexual hurrasment/discrimination on base. Needless to say my dreams of serving my own country were shattered with his experiences (thankfully).
Too bad, I'm sure I would have made a damn fine combat engineer if I applied myself the way I do to learning all the trades I've hopped around in since I was 16. But my country will never know as I don't subject myself to unneccesary BS/politics, I get enough of that just co-existing with the butch females of my construction sites.
