Drop in libido - 31 years old

Noticed a drop in libido recently. Seems like for the first time in 15 years I am not constantly thinking about sex.

Just wondering is this normal (ie just a fact of getting older?). Or is it unusual? It feels pretty weird - particularly with it being the start of summer.

Anyway - for you older guys. Would be interested in hearing how your libido changes as you get older?

I'm hitting 45 soon and can't think about anything BUT sex. LOL
Of course, it takes a bit more to get me going, but I think that has more to do with "been there, done that" than age. But a girl that I'm very into can get me as horny as I have ever been. When I am out, there is not a single girl I pass by that doesn't get judged on sexual appeal.
Don't know if it's normal to lose your appetite cuz it hasn't happened to me but they say 40% of men over 40 have ED. I always just figured it's because most of them are stuck fucking the same woman for the last 10 or 15 years and she's getting uglier and fatter every day, not to mention that even if she never changed a bit, the very fact that it's the same girl for so long will do it to ya. Like eating the same meal every night. Not a recipe for hard-ons if you ask me.

No - I'm 'good to go' so to speak. No problems there.

It is just that I find myself not thinking much about sex anymore. During the day. When it used to be something I would be thinking about alot.

Maybe it is a temporary thing. But is feels strange since it has being about 15 years since I last felt like this.

I'm 31 too and I've noticed it as well. I'm guessing it's normal.

I still get raging hardons and sex is fine, but it's not that frantic, must-get-laid type thing.

Oh and I'm more prone to whiskey dick, in that it's happened twice in the last year. It never ever happened in my 20s when I was drinking like a fish.

Quite honestly, I'm happier because of it. It's a welcome calmness that wasn't there before.

I can't relate, I only turn 20 this year.

But it is really annoying thinking about sex all day long.

Having a slight drop in libido doesn't sound too bad. And even then as long as you maintain an active and healthy lifestyle you can keep your libido levels healthy for many, many years following the peak during teen/early adulthood.

Have you started eating different kinds of foods within the past few months?

You could have a zinc deficiency.

No change of diet recently.

And yeah - in some ways it is a nice thing. Not constantly being chained to a raging libido.

But - it is strange adjusting to the calmness. Almost like I have to find a new way of filling time or something.

Specifically, a lack of saturated fat in the diet is linked to lowered libido.

One word - testosterone.

Go and get your levels checked. Your total T should be at least 600 ng/dl. Testosterone does indeed start to decline after 30, but by no means should you have to accept that, and its consequences if you don't want to. Who knows, you might not care.

Above commenter is correct - cholesterol from fats is a necessary precursor to testosterone production. Prolonged low fat diets will cause a corresponding drop in T.

Normal. Don't worry, you will still have many periods of pure hornyness. Enjoy the breaks.

How many girls are you banging and how often?

I'm a loser with women. I don't enjoy hanging around with them. They irritate me.

Hookers and porn are my thing.

As for the above. I imagine it is just a break that will soon sort itself out. I think this happened before a couple of months ago. Can't really say.

A slightly lowered libido isn't necessarily a bad thing. I'm 37 and I can still get horny as hell, but getting random boners at awkward moments doesn't happen anymore. We all remembered being in high school and having a raging hardon and hoping the teacher didn't call us up to the front or something. I'm kinda glad that's a thing of the past.

The problem I have now is that I can't always cum if I'm wearing a condom.

I think the majority of guys find condoms a pain to use.

I can relate. I'm 36 and although I *think* about sex often and still submit every skirt that passes me by to a boner test, it's getting harder and harder for me to be "possessed" / feel an urge to fuck something. That said it can be a symptom of lower T-levels, which is something we as men need just like a motorbike needs gasoline. Get yourself checked if you care.
