Too short!!! And not enough commentary.

"...it's the quiet cool...it's for someone who's been through the struggle and come out on the other side smelling like money and pussy."

"put her in the taxi, put her number in the trash can"

I enjoyed it. Russians looks like fun people even if they do drink too much and the girls in the club looked good. Not sure why the camera man was wearing a hoodie to a nightclub though!

What I want to know was if that was a typical Russian club or just one full of pros. The talent was really exceptional.

I love these indie documentary films.

Any idea what sort of camera and equipment he was probably shooting with? Can this be done on a budget?

Speaking of Russia docs, this is a pretty amusing one I stumbled upon:

Not sure why I can't quote on my phone anymore

@ menace
I'd say they were regular girls. If that bar had never had an American then it likely didn't have many tourists come through and if not many come through then there probably won't be many pros hanging around. Not sure what city that was but I think they are visiting smaller cities in Siberia....I could definitely be wrong

Episode 3 was epic. Love the party videos, the boozing, and the music! Those club girls were top notch, way better than anything that can be found in the shithole of Washington, dc.

Don't know Washington, but all those girls are very average by Russian standarts. The blonde on the right at 1:27 is IMO the cutest of the video.

The cold war provided a western image for Russians as dour, stern, eternally overly serious people, and sure, those people exist - but so do a lot of people with authentic warmth, levity and brightness.

These videos I think really smash many of the negative stereotypes about Russians, who take having fun very seriously and it often involves drinking a LOT of alcohol.

Like Prosal said, the girls in club are pretty average Russian girls. I'd certainly like to see the reactions of DC guys who stumble upon real talent on their venture into oh so crazy Russia!

+1. We aren't going to teach the Russians anything about partying, but we might just learn something from them.

That is a very good point.

Recently I was having a conversation with my mother about Russia and I said that the women there were the most beautiful I had seen anywhere in the world and she was shocked. Her image was that of dour, bedraggled people standing in queues for food. You still get younger people thinking that too. I was talking to two Danish lads in the UK recently who found it hilarious when I said Russian women were hotter than Danish women.

There is a reason that a number of people on this board are enamoured with Russia ( Prosal, Partizan, myself etc. ) and it's not just because they are good looking, after all you can find good looking women in most countries. It's that there is a certain energy to the place too and something in the Russian character that knows how to have fun and enjoy the moment, a Russian - Joi De vivre. If they were the morose types portrayed in the media or how most imagine them to be than I doubt most of us would visit again. It's hard to put your finger on exactly but something about Russia draws you in.

Scandanavian women are often just as attractive in some ways, but tend not to be as interesting, typically lack the depth and joie de vivre you will often find in Russian women.

I find it really interesting how different it is in Russia to how the media have typically portrayed it.

I have had more passionate relationships and interactions from one weekend in Russia than I have had in an entire year in scandinavia.

In video #2 you can see the reflection of the camera man and it looks like he is using a Canon DSLR.

So yes it can be done on a budget.

I love watching this shit. OK so there's no girls or mad partying but it's cool watching life in Russia and on the train.

This series is pretty cool. Making me want to go to Russia and check it out. I just don't know much about life there (like most Americans lol).

I'm liking this series and Russia looks pretty interesting, but I don't think I could deal with the constant non-stop drinking they do there. As someone into the healthy lifestyle, the Russian drinking culture runs completely counter to what I'm into, and I'm not surprised that the average life expectancy in Russia is so low, I believe it's like 52 years old for men.

I was reading some of the comments the guy Peter wrote in response to people's questions, he said he found it really annoying when "Blinky" one of the guys on the train from episode 4 would wake him up at 6 AM to eat ramen noodles and drink cognac and when Peter tried to ignore him and tell him to go away, they guy just kept shaking and slapping him till he got up. I personally would get pissed as fuck and be liable to karate chop a motherfucker if he was doing it to me.

Yeah that Blinky guy looks pyscho, there would be loads of tension if I was Peter.
I guess I am a pussy but that cabin was far too crowded for my liking, I would need my own space or share a cabin with a friend. First or Second class would do me fine, travelling with the "locals" is a bit too real for my liking.

Loving the series though, got me thinking how much tail a "foreigner" could get if he had command of the language.

To me that's the whole attraction of the journey, it would be long and boring otherwise.

Solo Russian women tend to travel platskart ( dormitory carriage ) because they feel safer that way than in an enclosed compartment with possibly three random men. I met a girl at the railway station in Vorkuta who was travelling solo back to Moscow, very attractive. She could not get a ticket in platskart and so decided not to travel at all. I told her to get a ticket in my compartment but all three births were full so she stayed behind. So if you want chicks then platskart is the way to go however you have to put up with the smell of body odour, cramped conditions, poorer section of society ( rednecks ), total lack of privacy etc.
