Feel lost and stuck due to my old blue pill past

I think there's a much stronger motivation to sell yourself and your own products than to work for another company and sell theirs and make them money and then only take a small cut

I know you have to be a much better salesman for yourself than working for a company.
Self-Improvement/Motivation must be the #1 Golden Priority. Most don't make it. Because they are so used to people having a plan set for them when they walk in.
What they don't tell you is how hard making a name for yourself from scratch is.
Especially with the internet. It's a double edged sword. It's so easy to start but so hard to separate yourself from the noise.
I sure as hell didn't know. People don't do business with unknowns and strangers.

I am very cautious about advising people to start their own thing. It's extremely tough.

Thanks guys for chiming in with constructive advice. I've been on a funk lately and have moved this to a thread in the Private Lounge. If you have time, check it out. Crêpes for your thoughts [Image: biggrin.gif]

Nothing changes much in my job and I grow more and more restless. It's been 20 months since I joined the company and I've gained an unofficial senior status. I just cant enjoy working in the TV industry, it is basically like bringing to life eveything demotivational / disgusting stuff we talk about on the forum.

I just try to focus on the fact that there are so many hotties here, and block out all the noise. That wont last long though. As you all said I'll be a bit cautious about office flirting (I never plan to bang any, at least while Im still with my LTR). Other upside is that my manager is counting a lot on more and has decided to give me much more autonomy and the authority to act in her absence.

It's a very well known company in the industry but the pay is lousy and the environment toxic. Turn over rate is extremely high, lots of people leave after 1 years, and I'm talking about people having a CDI (tenured job), not some contracters. The upside: leaves a lot of power vacuum and someone like Vaun would be all over this like a hot pussy [Image: wink.gif] Maybe I can eventually weasel my way quickly enough into a manager position and play the game well and delegate all my work, I dont know.

I've recently decided, and pretty set on learning Javascript. You all know that digital media / marketing is all the rage right now, and given the advance in Internet it will soon become the norm. Most of my colleauges have no notion of codes or how websites work whatsoever. If I can learn coding / Frontend development I can make the connecting jump from Media to Digital Media, which opens a lot more door. It will take a while to do, in the mean time I'll try to get naturalized. The process is a fucking pain in the ass now, thanks Macron.

If I can make the switch to digital media with side missions in web project / digital development it will open up a lot more doors. Then either I go freelance or I work smart and takes a manager position in a company with lots of benefits and free time.

That's the only plan I have for now. At least learning Javascript will occupy my mind with something.

There's another alternative I could take once I become naturalized: go full hedonist. Arranged to be fired, live on free unemployment aid for 2 years while working undercover.

I like this plan, but do you?

You're obviously very good at language, fluent in at least 3 languages I presume. This should give you some selfemployed options. Aren't you originally Vietnamese too? Fluent in English, French, Vietnamese, you could probably pick up Chinese rather easily because of that no?

Vietnam is also one of the fastest growing economies in Asia.

You've been in media.

It's there for the taking brah, make a firm helping foreign companies setting up in Vietnam. You can go many different ways with this. Advertising in particular and market research fits your sociology background.
