The Bruce Lee thread

So much I admire about Bruce Lee.

I've been called Bruce Lee all my life. Perhaps it's because I'm Asian, perhaps my martial arts training is oozing out of my pores even out of situation. Maybe it's that i have had hairstyles and styles, and I speak like a fortune cookie sometimes, like Lee.

When I was younger I used to get upset when people would call me Bruce Lee - now I take it as a pretty high compliment. Not all Asian boys in America get called Bruce Lee, as I've learned recently... especially if they're your average computer geek.

Heck my initials are even B.L. too.

However interestingly enough I've only seen a couple Bruce Lee movies, but I've read his writings and see the genius that was.

Thanks for this thread, it's a good one.

I have posted about Bruce many times.

Bruce was my first game coach. He was the one that taught me not to have a style, but, instead, adjust my style to fit my target.

I have always felt a strong connection to Bruce because like him I was born in the Year of the Dragon. I AM A DRAGON!

My Chinese friends in 1st grade brought this to my attention. They said I was born to be a lead and inspire.

G - I was just making fun of the average, delusional American girl. Bruce Lee had a great body, nothing but muscles. I'm sure some people would say he wasn't alpha and couldn't pull girls because of his height and thin frame though [Image: boring.gif]

Read up on Bruce Lee's wiki page. His physical feats are quite impressive. Holding a V-up situp position for 30 mins!!!! What.... Holding a 70 lb dumbell outstretched at your side for a few seconds. His speed is impressive as well.

WIA- For most of men, our time being masters of our own fate, kings in our own castles is short. Even those of us in the game will eventually succumb to ease of servitude rather than deal with the malaise of solitude

The most important thing to note about Bruce is the fact that he was banging white girls and latinas in the 1960's. Asian guys take note!

Jeremy Lin also did alot to help asian guys.

Asian guys are doing well in San Francisco right now, with white girls, latinas, and even chocolate bunnies.

Fists of fury! Bruce Lee's only recorded 'real' fight is revealed in stunning restored footage of him effortlessly flooring one of his top students

Quote:Quote:

Bruce Lee was famous for his astounding athleticism and fighting ability both on camera and off it.

As well as being a kung-fu movie star he also created his own martial art: jeet kune do, 'the Way of the Intercepting Fist', which was intended to be fast, fluid and capable of working as well in a street fight as in a ring.

Lee regularly sparred with his students, but only one of his MMA fights was recorded - and now it's been restored by YouTube channel Beerdy: Bruce Lee Central.

'This is the only recording of Bruce Lee in a real MMA fight. He's fighting Ted Wong here, one of his top students,' wrote Beerdy.

In the video, the two men are seen clad in dark black padding and gear - something that Beerdy claims were 'state rules' at the time.

It's not clear where the footage was filmed, but it was likely in California, where Lee had his school for jeet kune do, and where Wong studied.

Wong repeatedly tries to get close to Lee, who keeps his distance at all times, moving like lightning to deflect and disarm Wong whenever he gets close.

More than once, Wong takes a sharp uppercut to the face - but to his credit he keeps going.

The thick gloves might help both men in this instance, but Beerdy says Lee would have been happier out of them.

'If not for those rules I can guarantee you that Bruce would have fought bare-knuckled,' he claims.

Wong only studied under Lee and no other masters, and so went on to teach a 'pure' version of Lee's unique style of fighting.

He also wrote a series of books on the martial arts, and was inducted into Black Belt magazine's Hall of Fame as the 'Man of the Year' in 2006, when he was 69.

Beerdy posted another video hours later in which he claims martial artist Richard Bustillo, who died this year, was present during the fight.

Here's some other videos from the same channel:

The tower of death from the considered incomplete movie Game of Death is a linear take of some difficulties in life.

30 minutes of fight scenes

Speaking of game I wonder what it would be like 10 years from now.
