relocate to Europe : Prague or Warsaw ?

I've got a job offer in Warsaw which pays 2700 euros gross monthly. I'm also going through interviews for another job in Prague and it looks like that I'll get the offer from their feedback. And the pay range is 3200~3600 euro gross. Both jobs will start about Feb, 2013. They both pay much lower than what I'm making right now in Toronto (yup, the well known shithole on this forum) but I'm not exactly moving for money , rather more for adventure. As for myself, I'm Asian at mid-30s, but look like late 20s, 5'9'', outgoing, not shy, and a decent Salsa dancer, although definitely not at Mixx level [Image: biggrin.gif]

I dated a Polish chick before and had experiences with other Polish girls but no experience with Czech girls. My impression about Polish girls are quite positive.

I haven't been to the two places yet. Just wondering which city is more enjoyable on the whole ? In which city the pay can support a more comfortable life? I don't intend to be a race troll, just curious where I'll more likely fare better? I'm hoping that more experienced guys here can provide some intel [Image: biggrin.gif]

Thanks!

Great post. I can't really give much intel on which salary/environment, etc will give you the best lifestyle, but moreso along the lines of female tendencies over in those countries as an Asian guy myself.

Prague - People can be rude to ex-pats living there at first, but you'll earn their trust a few days later the more they see you. Also learning some of the language would be ideal as well. It'd be ideal to ask your employer about courses in say Charles College at nights as it'd be a great way to gain fluency along with meeting chicks too. I know a guy from Korea who moved to Wroclaw and gained full fluency in Polish @ nights after work though it was only optional yet resulted in chicks galore.

The city in itself is kind of lame to visit at first bc it's so touristy and has kind of rested on it's laurels. Women though amazing are not as fashionable as Polish ones, and can be quite lazy with their looks. Nightlife/restaurants are kinda lame.

As a city to live in though, I'd probably recommend it. A big key is to get involved with the amazing Couchsurfing scene as you will meet a bunch of chicks from the Ukraine, Slovakia, and Russia studying there. They along with other Czech women from cities outside of Prague are your best shot at getting acclimated with things as they will share a lot in common with you in terms of not being from the city. If you're somehow not attracted to them or vice versa, they will still funnel you into the social scene of chicks not involved with couchsurfing as you'll get to really pick and choose your dating material. Make ties with Czech/Slovak dudes within CS too, bc they will also introduce you to their abundance of female friends as well.

Being in Prague, you'll have other accessible cities to visit within the country like Plzen, Olomouc, Ostrava, or Brno. Never been but would like to see those places someday. Also you're not too far off via train from places like Wroclaw, Poland, Bratislava, Slovakia, or Vienna, Austria.

A gutsy move with potential would be to stay at a low key hotel connected to some sorta cafe/restaurant for one week before moving into your apartment. You can ask the female staff for help, attention, and perhaps get their phone numbers to "hangout sometime" after you're moved into your flat. It'd take a bit of charm as Prague females can really be stiff at first, but then warm up to you once they experience your politeness day 2-3. Being stylish and knowing how to groom yourself wouldn't hurt either...esp in winter time.

Warsaw - I'd say the amenities of Warsaw are greater than that of Prague. Better restaurants, better nightlife apparently, and much more cosmopolitan. While Prague is a place that's rested on its laurels because of the tourists they are going to be getting in decades to come anyways, the Polish capital is a place that's always striving to become even more cosmopolitan/stylish & really improve in as many respects as possible. The women are exponentially more stylish than Prague, and are much more open at first with foreign men..esp quality Asian ones like myself...haha. I only got to spend a day there dragging around my heavy luggage waiting for a night train to Vienna, but was impressed. Women are openly very flirty/polite as I saw more interracial couples there in public. This happened me two times but a couple of 9's & 10's would come out of nowhere to tap me on my shoulders asking if I needed help finding something in Warsaw while wanting to chat. That sort of thing would never happen in Prague FYI.

I think most of the tourists that go to Warsaw don't have gaming as their primary intent of visiting but moreso to learn about the history of the place dating back to WWII along with taking lame pictures. That's good news for peeps like us.

With my limited time there, I can't give you more info on the everyday social scene there but the place has one thing in common with Vienna, Austria. There are multiple nightlife neighborhoods as the "scene" is only marketed to locals instead of your average aforementioned tourist. If you learn about the scene and find those venues to game, you'll really stand out in a good way catching the women by surprise. I had fun doing that in Vienna, but the women in Warsaw are apparently more open....which is great. I'm sure you will not just meet but also date lots of fun women in Warsaw.

If visiting places like Wroclaw (highly recommended!) or Poznan as a Warsaw resident, you'll do well in those cities as well. The BIG key is to say "oh yeah I'm living in Poland...Warsaw..but I really prefer YOUR city more." Plenty of talent out in Western Poland, but locals there really HATE Warsaw so you'd be stroking their egos big-time by saying you prefer "Poznan," "Wroclaw," or "Katowice."

Good luck with your decision, and PM me if you want more specific info.

I preferred Prague over Warsaw simply because i was awed by the beauty of the medieval architecture in the city, also I found the beer and women to of be of a better quality than Poland.

I agree with polish rumble.Prague was great in the past especially for day game now not so much.A lot has to do with change of infrastructure(shops everywhere),hordes of foreigners invading the city, police everywhere watching etc.Even the metro vagons have changed. While in the past they were perfect for pick up as they were intended for standing people(communist style) now the new modern ones are much worse since they are intended for sitting people(meaning much less opportunities to approach).
Hlavni nadrazi(train station) has changed to the worse due to appearance of shops where there used to be waiting places),Florenc(bus station) also has become much worse due to creation of sitting hall where there used to be only standing on the outside waiting for the bus and all the Narodni Trida,Andel shopping centers complexes with the outside tram stations have changed to the worse.(let's hope a new Soviet invasion puts the city in order again just kidding).

Went to Prague in 2009/2010 as I enjoyed it. However, the nightlife is a touristy sausage fest where everything was too mainstream one size fits all. I'd take the nightlife in Wroclaw over it quite frankly as the people there have more style, charisma, and personality. Lots of great bar restaurants & chill lounges too. I can't quite remember all the names as CS people showed me around, but it was great. Maybe nightlife in Prague in the 70s would be better than it is now without all those tourists, haha.

The strength in Prague IMO totally lies within living in the city while getting to meet all the Russians, Slovaks, and Ukrainians that relocate there for university, masters programs, or work. The locals can also be very accessible once they get to know you, but the other Slavic transplants are probably the most fun to hang out with as they will funnel you into their social scene including more local Prague females you would've never been able to meet without those leads.

Lots of good stuff going on in Prague, but I wouldn't say nightlife is one of the stronger points.

Never been to Warsaw but Prague is an amazing city to live in. Great city for daygame full with hot chicks from russia, ukraine, kazakhstan and basically all over. The nightlife is great as well, most clubs are free entry and theres tons of hot chicks around. Personally I cant understand the bad rep it gets nowadays (maybe my standards are low form living in Germany).

I guess you cant really go wrong with either, Polish chicks are really nice aswell.
