The Motorcycle Thread
11-05-2013, 10:49 AM
Hey everyone, just adding my 2 cents on motorcycles. I'm new in here, mostly reading learning reading. About the lifestyle. I don't know much about girls, so please forgive my inaccuracy in terms of approaching or labeling. This is the first thread I think I can actually contribute something. Here goes:
As pointed out by lots of guys before, motorcycles definitely up your game. I rode about 10-14 different bikes in my "career". Some I sold, some got trashed, some just were to unreliable. I never really focused on getting laid, but the experience definitely leads to the conclusion, that for getting laid a bike does not have to be new or powerful. It has to look aggressive or bulky. So sort of the extension of your body. What I mean is, that normally there's nothing worse than self proclaimed "tuning" guys who only change some visible parts and don't do anything about engine, suspension etc. But when it comes to girls, buying a 250ccm for 2K and investing 500 dollar in tasteful! visible parts or paint beats buying a 500ccm or larger for 3-5K by lengths.
Girls love motorcycles for four factors:
1. Image. (mostly same as guys, born-to-be-wild, ride free lalala)
2. Self-image (being visible to everyone, girls love to show off and where better show off than with a cool dude on a nice machine between your legs. beats any car by lengths for her purpose of visibility)
3. adrenaline (this is for the girls who really are, at least a little bit, crazy and not just for the meek girls who want to play dirty once in a lifetime)
4. vibrations (this, most girls don't know about, they'll notice though)
To sum that up, I would strongly advise against motocross or enduros on the street. Fun as they are, they seem misplaced and don't work too well with the ladies. Maybe someone will strongly disagree, I'd be curious. Second, with aggressive or bulky looking streetfighters / supersports you can not go wrong at all. Choppers are tricky. Again they have to look aggressive, not like a old man bike (gold-wing, electra glide etc...that's only if you're into MILF's with fading tattoos). These need some more CCM though. Why? Because you don't know if a lady is into speed or not. And even a 500-600 ccm chopper just doesn't have the torque of the sports machines. Nothing beats having a girl on an at least 750-800ccm chopper. Mostly you don't leave the city anyways, you don't want to scare her or have strong wind. So these have enough "punch" up to 60-70 mph. That's enough for the city, at least here in Bulgaria where I live. In Germany mosdef, you're already leaving the cop-friendly zone. There is one big advantage though for all choppers: vibrations. The 2 cylinder gets 80-90% of the girls wet as hell. Some of my female friends admitted it right after the ride, some girls I was just dating or hooking up you could see their blushing faces. And two bulgarian ladies in miniskirt actually got so wet, they left little stains of juice on the rear leather. If you point that out you'll get them embarassed, you can then just take your index finger, wipe over, have a taste and say whatever funny shit is on your mind. You have her already because you took the emberassment away from her and spun the sexual tension in a positive way. So she's wet, she's laughing and she was holding you tight for the last 15-20 minutes to not fall off: it's actually pretty hard to mess that up!
So much to what to buy, it leaves you a HUGE selection of bikes. Some where asking about riding in the heat. I worked as a motorcycle tour guide in about 12 US states and in Europe. There is hot and hot. If you have to ride in the desert, like Arizona, Nevada or the eastern parts of California, you need something with long sleeves. First to protect your skin, second you loose to much moisture, third you can get excessive windburn which is no fun at all. So much for the real heat, but I think what most people ask is what to chose for commuting or dating chicks in a hot area, Miami came up, Panama etc.
Leather is not your best friend in that case. I'm not saying there are no decent leather jackets, but you'll always sweat like a mofo, except you're going fast for a long time or only for short rides. The perfect solution for these areas or seasons are short sleeve protector Jackets. I for myself chose the Hammer Jacket from IXS. My favorite brand, very underrated. Swiss quality for a very decent prise. These give you more protection than any leather jacket. Plus you look like a fucking warrior ready to swing a battle axe. you can accentuate the body armor and wear it on top, just keeping it on in a cafe if you're there for a quick drink. Ladies notice, way better than a helmet. Or you wear a nice (ripped apart?) XL shirt on top, that's your decision. Again in desert, you wear one of these and a longsleeve on top. It will surprise you how well you can ride and cover distance, never forget to overhydrate though.
For the in between season, where it gets chill in the morning and night, I wear a long sleeve protector jacket. O'Neal Wave Jacket in that case. This is no promotion from my side, just wear whatever you want. Dainese also makes killer gear, but very overpriced to my mind.
Another thing about Bikers. There is lots of fun to be had with bikers, they're mostly laid back. Not giving a shit about your physical wellbeing attracts a certain crew. That said, I wouldn't dismiss game in biker bars. Even if you don't get laid you definitely hear the best stories and find guys who are serious with their drinking habits. The point is a. which bars and (most important) b. what type of person you are. The REAL biker bars you don't want to go to. Because only mostly gang-affiliated guys hang out there, looking for trouble. And the chicks there are either old and fugly or belong (sometimes literally) to one of the dudes. These are often clubhouses more or less with a liquor license for money laundry and giving it a "legit" appearance. At least in Germany, Bulgaria and in those party of the US I rode. In the other European countries I only had tours for work, never hung out in bars. In a laid back biker bar though you still have similar looking guys but who're in it for the fun and riding. In there you can have game, but you're bike doesn't get you anywhere, it's parked outside. I always had a good time there, also with some chicks, but for two simple reasons: 1. I'm not a typical biker, I do a PhD in politics. Which for most chicks in there would be the same as if I'd say I'm a astronaut. That doesn't make me more attractive though, for most girls even less (dr. smartypants) but you got their interest and attention to work with already. 2. I don't have any tattoo (yet). That by itself gives you an outstanding look. So if you're visibly tattooed and laid back and have a "cool" job ... forget about biker bars. Except you want to get hammered with like-minded people or you just really want the fiercest competition as kind of a professional challenge. Not my thing, but whatever floats your boat!
Hope that was helpful, enjoy the ride.
