Hurricane Sandy-Where Are You?

I'm in central Maryland. Lots of rain. I"m sure baltimore city will be swamped, and of course, knowing baltimore city, the riot police will show up on tiny tiny rubber boats.

Hurricane Sandy-Where Are You?

Just had to go out in shorts and flip flops to wade through water to my car. Moved it a few blocks away to higher ground. Bout to walk back and and pack a backpack and some food. Might be sleeping in my car tonight.

Lower Manhattan is swamped. A huge swell in the harbor basically washed inland. Out here in Queens the power has blinked off a couple of times briefly, but it's mostly just strong wind still. Luckily my street doesn't flood, but just around the corner water tends to stand so there's always a lake after heavy rain.

I live in Cincinnati and the local forecasters have been tut-tutting about a low pressure front coming through here that's supposed to collide with Sandy and cause hell. Not much going on here though, just cloudy and chilly.

I am still alive. Hurricane Sandy cannot stop us from living the life we want.

I am talking to the game gods right now. They are sending the infantry to fux her feminist soldiers.

Hmmm...I'm looking out my window and it doesn't even look wet outside. There's a fuckton of leaves scattered around, but overall, it doesn't look like any structural damage was done. And power is still on!

I was right in the path of this thing too, but much closer to Philadelphia than the Jersey Shore.

Amazingly, power did not go out at all during the worst of the storm. I bought all that canned soup and shit for nothing.

Only lost power once. But there is a downed line near here.

Nothing serious to report here. We saw some wind and a couple of fairly heavy gusts (getting up to 50mph or so), but the power stayed on and things look good outside.

Some fallen trees on the streets, but power stayed on and it looks like business as usual.

I was on the phone with a company in Haiti this morning and was like "oh, sandy, east coast blah blah" and he guy replies something like 'yep, sandy wiped out much of the infrastructure in the southern half of haiti a few days ago' and I thought if that guy had twitter he'd definitely be posting something about #firstworldproblems
