South Korea

Alright.. I'm back from my four day trip in Busan.
Shit was real.. my liver, kidney etc. They all hate me

The beach is awesome.
Busan really IS like a South Beach Miami, Korea Version.
The difference is.. Women aren't walking around with as little clothing as possible.

I'm sure if they valued being tan, they would. You notice a lot of women wearing long flowing white shirts at the beach. They wanna enjoy the sun, but they don't wanna get to dark.
Koreans still value the paleness.

Another thing I notices was that women are a little thicker here.
Busan is more relaxed and there were as many stick thin girls walking around, like you see in Seoul.

A lot of my friends from all around Korea converged here, so a group could range anywhere from 2 to 9 drunk dudes.
We often kept the groups broken up in no more than 3 though.

Busan IS easily do able solo because of the large amount of tourist and foreigners that at still in the City.

Night 1
This was the amateur night.
We had no where to do because we failed to really look for clubs and it was Thursday.
So I ended up going to
Thursday Party
Take note. There is a Thursday Party in pretty much every decent sized city in Korea.
They are usually the foreigner haven but often filled with Koreans that enjoy speaking English.
Being Thursday, there was much happening..So I spotted two Swedish girls.
One was bored out of her mind, while the other was talking to a guy.

(Neither of these girls were more than a 6.5 but they I needed to do something while I drank)
I found out that they spoke German..and the boring guy was French.
This is where the game took a turn.

I switched the conversation to German and told the Swedish girl how bored she looked and told her to move over to my table to talk to me.
The French guy got a little ticked.. and even bought her a drink..which she just accepted and continue to talk to me.

Later in the night... this dissolved in to the French guy cussing me out and telling me to
'SPEAK FUCKING ENGLISH"
(My friend was recording it.. making the kid even more mad)
He eventually went and got his friends...who were a group of big British Royal Marines.
The guy got in my face about being a badass for being deployed before.

I'm about 6'2 180
This guy was my height and about 220.He figured that I was gonna go down easy.
I took a couple pushes from him.. but when he stepped in like he was read to actually throw blows, I swept his feet and punched him once.
Another dude clocked the French dude.
All this in a brief second.
It happen so fast that the rest of the British Marines didn't realize two of their friends were already in the ground.
The scuffle ended right there..

Like a True player.
One of my friends scooped up the Swedish Girls and went back to their place.

Koreans have a word for hover hands.

Whats up with that??

***
I actually matched with the Swedish Girl on Tinder.
She was DTF to the max...I should have left with my friend that tried to pull the two girls.

Apparently, all of them were shit faced drunk and the girls had to catch a plane in the morning.
Instead of smashing..somehow he ended up with their bags while they went off to get food more alcohol or something.
He passed out, the girls never came back, so he left their bags.
The next day...The girl is messaging me on Tinder on a international manhunt for my boy.
They missed the plane...

[Image: 0mws9Fcm.png][Image: TXt3wanm.png?1]

They eventually found their bags in the hotel room... where my boy left them.

Night 2

Don't go to
Club Elune
Its in the lobby of Paradise Hotel, which is right on the beach.

The Korean version of Kids Bop was playing in this club.. and the Koreans all looked like adult children.
They had one bar that gave the worst beer ever...
It taste like they mopped up the spilled and overflow beer from another club and tried to resell it by adding Alkasetzer for carbonation.

A Spanish guy and I tried to go to 247 Club.
They denied us.
Said Korean Only!
Which sucked... because this looked like the best place going.

We ended up going back to the strip near Thursday party and it was full of soldiers.
It looked like a Jersey Shore rerun... to the point where a couple dudes were taking of their shirts to show off their tattoos.
The couple girls I pipelined in the city failed to show up.
I settled for this Israel chick and her Korean friend ( odd trend)

We ended up drinking Soju on the beach and eating street food.
But at the end of the night.. her Jew nose was simply too much for me.
My friend and I agreed that we were only in this game for the alcohol.. and because we thought we were winging each other.

*
The beach was extremely fruitful for day game.
Korean women are extremely shy.. but allow themselves to be talked to.
I ended up with a lot of Kakaos(numbers) and a lot of sexy females that are curious to meet.

For the brothers.. this may mean something.
In Busan, Korean women had no problem talking to me in public. In Seoul and other cities I've been to, Korean women are almost scared to be really seen in public with a black guy for fear of being judged by other Koreans.

One girl.. tall, skinny, fit.. with a bubble butt for a Korean girl, walked up and grabbed my arm and in strongly accented Koreans, smiled and said " nice body" while stroking my friend.
Too bad her friend pulled away from me like she was a bag of money and both of their English was bad enough that It didn't go far.

Night Three

One of my friends pulled through.
About 6 Korean girl showed up to
Fuzzy Navel

I think there are two of these in Busan.
We decided to go to the one in Gwangali, which is the other beach in the city.
The crowd is younger, cooler and less foreign that Haeundae Beach area.

Problem was, these girls were busted for the most part, but relentlessly tried to isolate us.
It was like thirst drunk fat girl game that you experience at a Tavern during poker night.
We successfully ditched the girls. Low standards.. but I wasn't drunk enough for that.

I went back to my place and met up with this tight bodied Korean girl.
She showed up in a black dress but was really shy..I couldn't get the bang in my apartment.
She wanted to dance first.

We ended up going to CLUB GRID
Thanks to a tip from RunsGoodInc.

This place was massive.. multi bar, multi floor.
They had an ice cream bar inside the club.
I bought Ice Cream with a big honey comb more times than I bought beer.
*We ended up getting bottle service and having girls dancing on the tables and couches around us.
The girl I was with..got a call for a korean lady that yelled so loud that I could hear it through the cell phone in the club.
Her mom was calling her saying come home right now.. because she is going to church tomorrow

I got cock blocked by Jesus.
But shes gonna make plans to spend the weekend with me another time.
Doesnt matter..Had fun.
Bankroll still thick.

At first I was scared of this toilet....but..I feel much cleaner after pressing a button and having warm water lick the gunk out of my asshole, then air drying my balls out.

This is my bartender.
He passed out on the beach.. Showed up to work and got drunk before 10am.
We weren't even sure he worked at the bar.. but no one told him to stop pouring drinks.
By round three.. we was pouring us cups of Don Julio with a splash of yellow coloring ( Margarita)
And Cups of rum with a small layer of coconut. ( Pina Colada)
His pour was so heavy.. It was actually become hard to drink straight liquor.
This is the first time I tipped in Korea.

Why does this chick advertise everything in Korea.
I have seen her on every sign.

To any of you guys who've been to Korea, what is your impression on Korean drinking culture?

My school has a vibrant Korean international student community and every single one of the guys i partied with was a hardcore alcoholic WITHOUT EXCEPTION. They binge drink on regular weekdays and absolutely get plastered from Thursday to Saturday! Always thought Asians don't drink until i saw the Koreans & Japanese international students party.

Do you think there is a correlation between conservative/repressive cultures like Japan,Korea & Germany and binge drinking?

Also, do Korean chicks drink as much as the guys do?

Korean girls don't drink as much as guys.
They need to keep up that childlike innocent plastic appearance.

The guys on the other hand..it's true.
They drink all they can.
You start drinking soju during dinner and don't stop until 2-3 in the morning.
That might even be stopping to early.

Since bottle service is easy and relatively inexpensive. I see guys often buying tables with multiple bottles of gin and vodka.

It's like a race to finish the bottle before someone has to take a bathroom break.

If I come out if the club..it's like being out of a Saturday night in a British college town.only the women aren't pissing themselves in the street also.
Dudes are slumped over , passed out.

On the other hand..This works out for me.
Cause Korean guys seem to love buying me drinks all night and partying until one of their friends needs to be babysat.

I'm sure how the women handle it.because when I ask girls hobbies or what they do on the weekend, They often tell me...they like to drink.
I the only drink women out when they are with their boyfriends.
When it's just women..I only see drunk foreigners or Korean Americans.

Side note..out of curiosity. I bought two packs of cigarettes.
Are Korean cigarettes for children??!
They come in a bunch of flavors.
I bought espresso...one of the girls I'm seeing bought grape.

I used to think the thin cigs on the right were cool since they reminded me of smoking a J but then some girl explained to me that they are for ajoshis (korean men 40 years and older). You're free to smoke them but I think some girl will tell u that at some point lol [Image: biggrin.gif]

Korean girls don't drink at the club bc they expect to have their drinks bought but they can definitely handle their liquor. Splitting a bottle or two of soju is basically mandatory depending on what kind of restaurant they go to, even on weekdays. In many situations, the social dynamics absolutely dictates that they must drink even if they don't want to. We have some of these situations in Western culture but they are much less frequent. If a Korean can't handle their liquor then it means they probably weren't properly socialized.

There's definitely a correlation between oppressed cultures and drinking. A Korean friend once told me that Koreans like soju "because it is bitter, just like life." Makes a lot of sense when you look at the history of the country during the 20th century.

That's why I think Koreans are willing to immigrate to the US and Canada. Life is tough in Seoul, since everything is about works. The companies basically owns you until retirement.

Damn bro that's what my korean friend told me. He comes from a well off Korean family. Solidly upper-middle class if not upper class. He told me in Korean companies it is mandatory to go drinking with your boss every day after work until he passes out. Your plans with family or friends don't matter. Your company owns you. Can you confirm this? I thought he was exaggerating a bit.

The pack on the left is also espresso flavored and normal sized. Considering I can't read Korean..I really didn't know what I was getting.

The thing is..I have more than enough ways to get American brands.
I was a bit curious with all the bright coloured packages.
For 4.5k won, I figured I could do no wrong.

Why does ajoshi get to smoke bitch cigarettes, but I can't?
Why does ajoshi get to give zero fucks in life?
How can I become ajoshi?

If a white girl can be black and a man can become a women...why can't I be an old Korean man?

This is what my friends tell me too although it's probably more like weekly work drinking events instead of daily. I don't know first-hand though since I didn't work at a Korean company.

That said, life in Korea really isn't that bad any more because the country is an economic powerhouse. Between the 1950s and 1980s, however, it was a third-world shithole, so some of this "life is bitter" attitude is a remnant of the past generation which still remains.

I would say that Korea is just the ultimate place to work hard and play hard (even more so than other places in Asia such as Hong Kong, Beijing, Taipei or Tokyo). Of all the places I traveled to in Asia, it has the craziest nightlife/drinking culture and it's not even close.

Prices in Korea actually doubled recently. When I came here in late-December they were 2,000 won a pack. Fucking crazy. Kinda jump-started my return to smoking. I actually smoke the bitch/ajoshi cigarettes cause the girl I'm seeing smokes them. Lots of younger Korean guys smoke them as well.

I'll be in Busan this weekend. Are you around? I go pretty frequently. I'm in a smaller nearby city.

I also think we might have might the same Spanish dude haha. Is he a tall dude who has been living in Northern Europe? Could just be a coincidence though.

Also you should check out interpals.net. I saw a thread on RVF about it recently. It's a language exchange site which means there is no real competition as far as game goes. I dated a girl from there recently. Decent site. Hopefully I'll meet up with a few more when I visit Japan next month.

Nah the Spanish dude is a friend of mine.
Both of us are American.

I know about interpals. I use to have an account, but their site is so badly put together that I haven't visited it in years.

I was in Busan last weekend, so I probably won't come again. For a while..it's already Saturday.

Side note.
The more I look at the mud fest...it looks like a bunch of basic female English teachers getting muddy.
Like a music fest on the day it rains and everyone is sloppy..
Not very attractive at all..
I might skip that next week and try to go to jeju island or something.

They might have improved their site. Now you can search your city for girls only and even include age ranges. It's like a slightly shittier couchsurfing but way less popular. I've might a few people from it, and like I said my town is really small. Still might not be worth the hassle though.

I agree about mud fest. I actually have to work so wasn't going anywhere, but I haven't heard very good things. Jeju is incredible though. I went with a girl so I didn't really go out, but I can't imagine it's a good place to game. Maybe I'm wrong though.

I forgot to have won on me the other day.
Ended up missing a turn and hitting a toll booth out on the boonies.rice patties and such.
Luckily the lady at the booth was nice enough to just wave me through..
But I still ended up lost in some Korean mountain pass.

Korea has really nice scenery if you have never seen it before.

Kinda like..the Appalachians.
It's just endless mountain ranges( in the south at least)
Koreans seem to love hiking.
I like the occasional hike..but I'm not trying to take a date on a3 hour hill hike.
Are we gonna fuck at the top of the mountain?

A couple of articles on Seoul's startup scene.

Personally, I think Korea is underrated as an economic destination because the people work hard and the government is focused on business at the end of the day. It's around the 10th biggest economy in the world at this point. China is much larger and has more room for growth in its GDP, but I doubt it will ever become a hub for innovation because of its government.

Definitely agree that South Korea has a lot of hard workers and potential, but the cultural of complacency similar to Japan does not encourage its people to take risk as their previous generation did.

As for China, I do think you are underestimating their current innovation ability. You can measure innovation by the number of patents filed, but I think another good way of measuring innovation is by how many of the patents are used and the value that is created by companies because of innovation. A recent article on Economist pointed out that China leads the world at the moment in terms of innovative consumer products and business models.

You mentioned that you have a car in SK. How common is this? In China hardly any expat owns their own vehicle unless it's some 40+ year old multinational executive. I'm assuming you're teaching English over there so correct me if I'm wrong.

I have no idea what the Tefl type English teachers do.

But, the DOD has some deal with the Korean government that allows some workers and their families to take a driver's test in English and get a license.

I bought my car from another DOD teacher that had been here a couple years. It's 20 years old but it runs.
There are a million 15-20 year old Hyundais around.

It's funny.. There is no depreciation in Korea.
Since no one stays in Korea for a long time. The same cars get bought and sold every other year. I'll probably sell my car for more than I bought it for to someone right before I leave.

Driving in Korea is like driving a go kart though.
One day I'll record one of my trips.
Traffic laws in Korea are only suggestions. People cut each other off and soon around. Drive with hazard lights on for almost no reason.
They break and stop at the drop off a dime and park wherever.

Add that to the unorganized streets of Korea and you might as well be playing Mario kart.

A lot of cars put these little foam squares on their car's for so they can open their door full force into another car and not cause damage.
Sometimes people will park so close to me, that I have to get in on the other side of my car.

One week a dude driving a cargo truck decided to move 5 lanes to the right on a expressway.
Almost hit another car... Got out and the two cussed each other out for a good 5 minutes... Still blocking the 4 other lanes of traffic.

Adding my two cents on the speaking Korean debate. I am learning it a bit here and there but I honestly find more strength opening in english, or at most saying 'hello' in Korean. If I speak Korean off the bat they they tend to think I can speak better than I can, and I don't understand and have to get them to speak slower or just speak in english. Sucks when that happens and kills the moment. So i speak english as much as I can and speak korean when it is sort of least expected.

It is funny, if you know any korean they will usually ask if you learn korean because you like korean girls. Maybe it's true but bitch, why you learning' english...
